Biden says Pope Francis told him to continue
receiving communion, amid scrutiny over
pro-abortion policies

President Biden said that Pope Francis, during their meeting Friday in Vatican City, told him that he should continue to receive communion, amid heightened scrutiny of the Catholic president's pro-abortion policies. The president, following the approximately 90-minute-long meeting, a key part of his trip to Italy for the G20, told reporters details of their discussions. Biden said that Francis told him that he should keep receiving communion. The president said the pope blessed his rosary, and added that they discussed fighting climate change as part of his Build Back Better agenda. "We just talked about the fact that he was happy I'm a good Catholic," Biden said.

Comments:

Biden says a lot of things that are more fantasy than fact.

It matters not what the Pope has to say, if this is true. But, someday, Biden will answer to the only judge that matters and I am sure that judge will not be pleased.

I call BS. I hope that we hear from the Vatican on this. Back when Clinton met with the pope he came out and announced that they had come to an agreement on abortion. The Vatican immediately came out and said that Clinton was lying. But that was when we had a real pope. I haven’t attended mass in 2 years and if this is actually true, I will never go back.

Forgot to add… How can Talibiden be a “good Catholic” when he has and continues to violate at least 9 of the 10 Commnadments? The only one still in question is - honor thy father and thy mother.

Not that I believe what BiteMe reports but the Bible is crystal clear. 1 Corinthians 11:27 - For he that eats and drinks unworthily, eats and drinks damnation to himself. If Biden has truly repented and confessed his sins then what he does and says going forward shall show the fruit of that 'conversion'.

ole joe must think that Catholics are stupid! IF the pope told biden to receive communion he probably told him to get his rear-end to confession first and to stop supporting abortion first! Only people that will believe that biden got the OK from Frank are his supporters, all 81 million of them who are rolling over in their graves. #2 why would you stop attending mass because of frankie. Your at mass because you believe in the Eucharist, not the pope! I am not a fan of this pope, but, he has never changed any of the laws and teachings of the Church. but he sure is a socialist, thru and thru

The way wokesterism has seeped into the governance of the Church has eroded my confidence in the Vatican's commitment to opposing the relaxing of restrictions on abortion. So Biden's claim of papal affirmation could have some truth to it. But in the traditional discipline of the Church, their meeting falls under the Internal Forum, which is just one level of confidentiality lower than the Seal of Confession. Biden's free to claim whatever suits him about what was said, just as Pelosi was free to blab about what she wanted everybody to think she and her Archbishop discussed after she publicly misstated what the Church teaches on the issue (and then argued with Bishops who corrected her).

I highly doubt Biden's account of this meeting. More than likely the pope said something like, "Do not present yourself for Holy Communion unless you are in the state of grace"; and Biden doesn't know what that "is" any longer, because he's been "out of it" for so long....

Nope poster 4 - you pray in secret to the father. The pope is clearly a heretic. Better to pray privately than stand in ceremony. I was raised Catholic, attended Catholic school. The church like many if our institutions rotted from the inside out. If Catholics want mass, go on line and find one and listen. Don't attend and don't give them money. STARVE THE BEAST!

The timing of this announcement is meant as a warning for our bishops. In a few weeks the USCCB will have their November meeting, voting on the abortion teaching document submitted by Archbishop Cordileone last June. Over the summer the committee on life and human dignity has been very busy. My own Bishop Vasa is a member of this committee and he regularly preaches against abortion from the pulpit; directly addressing the issue after advising parents with small children to leave the sanctuary for 15 minutes. In June the vote to formulate the final document was something like 188 to 55. The "liberal" bishops are a very small minority. I believe the conservative majority is not going to welcome the threats from Frank. They will stand for Life. Jesus warned us that His Bride, the Church, would be defiled by evil even as Judas was arranging the payoff for betrayal. He warned Peter of his impending thrice denial and Simon still lied to save his skin. Yet, Christ entrusted the Sacrifice of the Mass to weak and mortal men, fully knowing many would fall into Satan's snares in the centuries until His Second Coming. All of those betrayals and defilements are powerless against His Presence in The Eucharist. Our God so loved us that He daily offers us His Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity to feed and give us strength to fight the good fight - even against our own clergy. My favorite all-time priest is a convert from Judaism. His proof for the Truth of Catholicism was that The Faith has been passed on for two thousand years by the laity, despite the clergy. Do not forsake Mass because of the political difficulties of the time we just happen to be living. Our times are no different than any in the past. The important thing is to unite our sufferings with Christ on the Cross and to remain faithful to His Holy Sacraments. As they say on EWTN: Live Truth, Live Catholic. AMDG

#23, above, provides an ardent defense for NEVER leaving the Roman Catholic Church. If you reject that defense, I humbly suggest you are missing something very important in your catachesis. Every word is rich with meaning and deserves to be fully 'unpacked' and understood. If you can't do it by yourself, find a GOOD priest (there are plenty) and work with him to understand it. We are talking about eternity here. It might be worth it. In the meantime, I continue to pray for you. PS: I offer this with all humility and an understanding that I don't necessarily have it all "figured out". We are all on this trip together and my hope is that we can all benefit from some guidance along the way. Just trying to help.

Catholicism represents only about a half of Christians worldwide, and a good portion of those non-Catholic Christians do not go to "mass" but to their own brand of Saturday/Sunday services. Then there are Christians that, for various reasons, do not attend regular services. I leave the idea that they have "abandoned Jesus" up to them and Jesus, who knows their hearts better than me. (As He also knows the hearts of those who regularly do attend mass/church services.)

#42~ Likewise, this commentary is offered “with all humility and an understanding that” mortal man errs, but forgiveness is Divine. As #63 posted, “Catholicism represents” a portion of Christians worldwide. It is written that “since apostolic times visible Christendom has been divided” due to historical, cultural and sociological factors contributing to the departure from truth revealed to us by God in the Holy Scriptures being the principal cause for such division. “Scriptures are the inerrant source and norm of all doctrine.” God’s Truth. Scripture alone has the authority to determine doctrine; the office of the papacy as such does not have divine authority or that Christians need to submit to the Pope’s authority to be ‘true’ members of the visible church.” Trinitarian churches are Christian churches; “personal salvation is not merely a matter of external membership in or association with any church organization or denomination, but comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone. ... All those who confess Jesus Christ as Savior are recognized as ‘Christians’ ... only God can look into a person’s heart and see whether that person really believes. It is possible to have true and sincere faith in Jesus Christ even while having wrong or incomplete beliefs about other doctrinal issues.” Most Trinitarian churches offer the Eucharist in some form; some as “thanksgiving” in remembrance of the Last Supper—as a memorial, rather than a sacrifice. For Scripture-based conservative Trinitarian churches, the Lord’s Supper “is a precious gift of God in which Christ gives us His true body and blood (in a miraculous way), together with the bread and wine, for the forgiveness of our sins and the strengthening of our faith.” Participation in the Lord’s Supper “is an act of confession of faith.” This Sacrament “may be spiritually harmful if misused.” (1 Corinthians 11:20-34) Many members of Trinitarian churches consider members of the Roman Catholic Church “fellow Christians.”

What the OP said. Biden makes up stuff. And no the Vatican is not likely to issue a correction. This is very close to seal of the confessional stuff. Priests cannot correct what someone has said happened in confession. People lie about that all the time, and they are defenseless. That is the actual reason for those confessionals built like little houses - it was to put some kind of limit on the fantasies people could pass off. Anyway, the reason I don't think this is possible is that this is for Biden's bishop, and the fantasy that the Pope is above all that, is an ignorant one. For most purposes every bishop is Pope in his own diocese.

The Great Biden Slowdown – here's how
he stifled growth, discouraged consumers

Joe Biden has pulled off the incredible: inherit a booming economy and bring it to a near-standstill in just nine months. When the president took office, the country was enjoying a robust V-shaped recovery, growing at better than 6%. The Federal Reserve was puffing up the money supply by $120 billion per month, consumers were sitting atop $2.5 trillion in excess savings, prices were stable and unemployment was falling fast. On Inauguration Day 1.6 million Americans received the COVID vaccine, optimism was rising and people were flush with trillions in relief funds.

A Loudoun County, Virginia, mom said at a school board meeting this month that she pulled her children from the public school system after her 6-year-old asked her if she was "born evil" because she’s white. "We had specifically moved them out of LCPS due to the swift and uncompromising political agenda of Superintendents Williams, Ziegler, and the school board had forced upon us. First, it was in the early spring of 2020 when my six-year-old somberly came to me and asked me if she was born evil because she was a white person. Something she learned in a history lesson at school," the mother said at a

Terry McAuliffe has repeatedly and falsely called his gubernatorial opponent, Republican Glenn Youngkin, "anti-vax," but the former Virginia governor has raked in tens of thousands of dollars from a donor who funded an anti-vax effort, campaign finance records show. Albert Dwoskin, a real estate developer who bankrolled an institute that pushed anti-vaccine conspiracy theories, supplied the McAuliffe campaign with $53,400 worth of travel expenses in the form of in-kind contributions, or non-cash goods or services, Virginia campaign finance records show. Dwoskin also pushed $27,500 in cash to the campaign this cycle and sent $10,000 to McAuliffe's Common Good VA PAC in 2020. The PAC kicked nearly $1.6 million to

Inflation is at its highest level in decades. Store shelves are empty. The southern border is in chaos. Hundreds of Americans are still trapped in Afghanistan. China just tested a hypersonic missile. Employers can’t find workers to keep their businesses running. No wonder more than 60% say the country is going in the wrong direction. But don't worry: President Joe Biden has a “National Gender Strategy” that will turn everything around. The document, released on Oct. 22, is every bit as ridiculous as it sounds.
The false religion of wokeness 12 replies

It’s become commonplace to argue that wokeness has all the trappings, if not the makings, of a new religion. The argument is persuasive. In its language and practices, wokeness imitates some of the common aspects of religions. It has myths (that America’s true founding was in 1619) and beliefs (that systemic racism permeates every aspect of America’s institutions) that believers take on faith. It has clerics — Ibram X. Kendi, Robin DiAngelo, Ta-Nehisi Coates — who speak ex cathedra. And it promises transcendence: In taking up arms against white supremacy and its effects, the righteous may participate in the defining struggle of our time. Thus argues John McWhorter —

US economy ground to a halt in 3d quarter 12 replies

Net of inventory accumulation, real GDP for the third quarter was slightly negative, US government data released Thursday morning show. Real GDP grew at an annual rate of 2%, below the forecasters’ consensus of 2.6%, the Commerce Department reported. But a jump in inventories added 2.07 percentage points annualized to GDP. That’s more than the reported growth. That’s a very odd number, considering that the inventory-to-sales ratio of US business stands at the lowest level on record, due to supply-chain constraints that prevent businesses from restocking. It’s likely that the inventory number was exaggerated. If that’s true, the US economy shrank during the third quarter.

Virginia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe's campaign raised eyebrows by spending nearly $60,000 to hire a high-profile attorney known for masterminding election-related legal challenges. When Fox News sent the campaign a request for comment, the McAuliffe campaign scrambled to "kill" the story, according to emails mistakenly sent to Fox News. Less than a month before Election Day, McAuliffe's campaign spent $53,680 on the services of the Elias Law Group, a firm that Marc Elias started earlier this year, Fox News previously reported. Elias had formerly worked as a partner at the law firm Perkins Coie, which the Hillary Clinton campaign hired in 2016 in order to conduct opposition research
Biden’s poll numbers are even worse

President Joe Biden’s dropping poll numbers are worse than they seem. A deep dive into the data shows two overlooked problems that most news stories haven’t caught: an intensity problem and a national mood problem. An intensity problem happens when a politician’s “hard” negative ratings rise much higher than his or her “hard” positive ratings. Voters who hold strongly negative views are less likely to shift to the positive side than are voters who hold only somewhat negative views — and that spells trouble in the next election. Put another way, Biden’s supporters tend to be only so-so in their esteem, while opponents are more passionate in their enmity.

Virginians have a chance on Nov. 2 to take the side of their state’s historical giants of 1776. Doing so requires repudiating corrosive leftist forces that are sacrificing cherished values, rejecting the gubernatorial candidacy and demagogic campaign of Democrat Terry McAuliffe, and choosing Republican Glenn Youngkin as their next governor. One of the great Virginians I refer to is Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence, who nevertheless is now persona non grata among radicals who increasingly control the Democratic Party, which he founded. He was a slaveholder, which means he held views typical of many 18th-century white gentlemen rather than those of the 21st century. Despite his wondrous achievement

So much has gone wrong so quickly, it’s hard to remember we are only nine months into Joe Biden’s presidency. Less than one-third of the country now thinks America is “on the right track,” according to the RealClearPolitics average of polls. That’s a dramatic deterioration since last spring, and a disturbing one, not only for the Biden and his party but for the country. Three developments are driving this collapse in confidence. First, Biden is pursuing a self-proclaimed strategy to “transform” America despite his campaign promises to bring the country together, stress bipartisanship, and restore comity and normality. That’s not what he’s done.

Former Gov. Terry McAuliffe has spent nearly $100,000 advertising "fake news" websites on Facebook during the Virginia gubernatorial campaign, Fox News can reveal. The Democrat's advertisements, which have been viewed up to 3.5 million times so far, are hidden on a Facebook page with a similar name to a local news website. The ads link to third-party websites that ostensibly publish local news, but exist to promote Democratic candidates. The websites have been widely described as disinformation and "partisan propaganda."

Many are wondering whether there is any truth to rumors that Biden had a “bathroom incident” during his meeting with the Pope at the Vatican, causing the hashtag #poopypantsbiden to trend on Twitter.

Animal rights organization PETA has called for Major League Baseball to "strike out" the word "bullpen" in favor of "arm barn" because, as the organization claims, the current term is a reference to a "holding area where terrified bulls are kept before slaughter." "Words matter, and baseball ‘bullpens’ devalue talented players and mock the misery of sensitive animals," PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman said in a press release. "PETA encourages Major League Baseball coaches, announcers, players, and fans to changeup their language and embrace the ‘arm barn’ instead." [Tweet]

NEW YORK — Health officials on Friday offered more evidence that vaccinations offer better protection against COVID-19 than immunity from a prior infection. Unvaccinated people who had been infected months earlier were 5 times more likely to get COVID-19 than fully vaccinated people who didn’t have a prior infection, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention concluded in a new study. “These data show, pretty strongly, that the vaccines are more protective against symptomatic COVID,” said Dr. Mike Saag, an infectious disease expert at the University of Alabama.
