Supreme Court upholds Maine’s COVID-19
vaccine mandate

The Supreme Court on Friday upheld Maine’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate, declining to halt its enforcement with a 6-3 ruling. Justices Neil M. Gorsuch, Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas would have halted it. Maine health care workers had asked the justices to block the vaccine mandate in the state, where more than 2,000 doctors, nurses and medical technicians oppose Democratic Gov. Janet Mills’ requirement to get vaccinated by Oct. 29 or get fired. They say the mandate from Ms. Mills runs afoul of federal law because it does not provide them with a religious exemption.(Snip)Before Justice Breyer refused to block the Maine mandate, Justice Amy Coney Barrett

I see little point in continuing to participate in the illusion that we have laws, governance or an electoral process in this nation. The Supremes have now given backdoor approval to the violation of one of the most fundamental of all rights - your right to choose your own medical treatments without coercion.

It appears the communists have won. If even the scotus wont back freedom, we may as well walk up to the edge of the trench so they wont have to drag our bodies. I have to give the Soviet Union credit. They said they would destroy us from within and they did. BTW, I wont be walking up to the trench. Mandate anything you want. My answer is no.

The Supreme Court did not "uphold" anything. It declined to involve itself at this time. People will need to be fired first, then let the games begin. It appears the court is setting the stage to hear a definitive case, but these are issues of injunctions brought to the court. When will people learn?

I'd like to read the opinions of legal experts who have read the ruling to get a feel for what is actually going on here. I haven't seen it. I *suspect* the thinking is that if these *employees* don't want to take their employer's mandated vaccine, they are free to find another job. The solution to this is a work stoppage. Every employee walks out the door, vaccinated or not. Will it happen? Probably not, but if every doctor walked out of a hospital, it would be like every airline pilot walking off the job. The airlines changed their tune very quickly when faced with that option. The Federal government mandating that all citizens take the vaccine would *have* to become a civil rights issue, which is why the Joebama admin is dancing around issuing a universal mandate.

#26 - No harm has accrued anyone at this point, and may not ever. Courts don't enjoin "threats". You can't sue the guy driving behind you becasue he might ram you at the next stop light. Some think the affected employers will enjoy applying these mandates. Sure, if firing up to half their workers is profitable. There are very high costs for them involved here, too, not to mention loss of services that benefit the community. Classic case of one cutting of her nose to spite her face. For "originalists", there are plenty of people here waiting for the Court to intervene and act with no basis. What would I say to Thomas, Alito and Gorsuch? Stay tuned, fellows. A case is likely coming your way...but you already know that.

American Airlines has continued its streak cancellation over the course of Halloween weekend as a quarter of its scheduled flights—634 of them—were cancelled on Sunday.
