President Joe Biden held a town hall in Baltimore on Thursday evening. During the event, organized by CNN and hosted by Anderson Cooper, the president discussed China's aggression, abolishing the filibuster and gas prices. He also shared details on the stalled negotiations to pass his multi-trillion-dollar social safety net bill. On the Build Back Better Act, Biden insisted he would not support a work requirement for the child tax credit, as sought by Senator Joe Manchin. He added that a paid parental leave provision has been reduced from 12 to four weeks. There were also several somewhat unusual moments. Here are a few… 1. Imaginary Jet Pack

Newsweak tiptoed around the creepy-weird leaning into the mic and whispering thing that Biteme does. Instead they keyed-in on his making the zero sign with his thumb and index finger. This time he was doing the whispery-thing while he was complaining about Corporations who supposedly make tens of billions of dollars and don't pay a cent of taxes. The newsweak writer should remind readers that Biteme was a Senator from 1973 to 2009 and was then VP, presiding over the Senate, from 2009 to 2016. These corporations are not paying taxes because they are taking advantage of the very same tax gimmicks, credits, deductions, and loopholes that Quid Pro Joe and his Senate colleagues wrote into the tax code for the purpose of influence peddling. The next time that he does this someone in the press should do their job and ask him about implementing a simple flat tax with no gimmicks. That's the only way everyone would pay their ''fair share''. The corporations that he is complaining about are not breaking any laws, they are following the laws that were implemented by the government, of which Biden was a high ranking member.

Yesterday another LDotter commented on Xiden's "Imaginary Jet Pack" pose by recalling Mattel's Rockem Sockem boxing robots. It's fortunate I wasn't drinking anything; it would have made a mess of my monitor. We remember those from long ago! It also occurred to me that Xiden's robotic pose is the same as Beavis's (of Beavis and Butthead) during sugar highs when he would pull his shirt collar to the top of his head and exclaim that he was the Great Cornholio and he needed T.P. for his bunghole. (Don't ask. I have no idea how B&B creator Mike Judge came up with that. Our pResident makes even less sense that that.) Newsweek, long an offender against truth, justice, and the American way, is breaking form by noticing that the senile doofus installed in the presidency is not even nearly up to the job. They knew the same last year, and refused to report. Does embarrassment or looming insolvency motivate this pathetic magazine? They're kind of late to the party.

I have been told that when you have one of those "senior moments" when you can't remember something you know you know, you should squeeze your hands hard and it will help you remember. Can't say I've had much success with that, but it looks like Biden is trying it .

Why the Great Power Governments Are Cracking
Down on Big Tech

All over the world, great power governments are struggling with their respective tech giants for control of the social media platforms. China’s ongoing crackdown on big tech is the most conspicuous. “Take Jack Ma, founder of the e-commerce giant Alibaba.” The Party called the billionaire in, told him his forthcoming IPO was illegal, and served notice that any new initiatives would need the regulators’ approval. Russia’s not far behind. Moscow sees Google, Apple, Facebook, Twitter, and Amazon as a threat and wants them replaced by “sufficiently pliable domestic entities — such as Russia’s large tech conglomerates like Yandex, VK, and Sber.”

A self-proclaimed non-binary lawmaker in Oklahoma blasted Gov. Kevin Stitt for his remarks asserting there are only two genders and that “there is no such thing as non-binary sex.” Democratic State Rep. Mauree Turner claimed it was difficult to have a working relationship with someone like Stitt who opposes “your existence.” “If you have to work with people who adamantly oppose your existence, right, to the point to where we can’t work together, you can’t talk to me, you can’t talk to me like I’m a human being, you don’t see me, that damages anyone’s working relationship,” the first Oklahoma lawmaker to identify as non-binary told Fox25.

By now you may have heard of the left’s latest insistence that we drop the expression “pregnant women” in favor of “pregnant people.” By using this phrase, they wish to emphasize that it is not only women who can conceive and carry children. According to the woke, men can now also partake in the joys of pregnancy. This is surely a remarkable position to take by those who routinely mock the virgin birth of Jesus as narrated by the New Testament. As you may know, most of our science-oriented woksters think the notion of a woman conceiving by divine intervention is a completely ridiculous idea that could only be believed

Terry McAuliffe, memorably characterized as "the unkillable cockroach of the Democratic Party" by PJMedia's Stephen Kruiser, is not faring well in the polls in his campaign for governor of Virginia. Apparently, neither is New Jersey's Gov. Phil Murphy, who's also running for a second term as governor who at last count had just a six-point lead, plus a toxic endorsement from The Nation, which declared him "the most progressive governor in America." That won't go over well in Jersey City or Weehawken. Democrats think these elections are important to their wretched 2022 prospects in Congress and have whipped out their big guns -- not flailing Joe Biden, of course --

A new “peer-reviewed” paper has been released from Cornell University titled “Greater than 99% Consensus on Human Caused Climate Change in the Peer-Reviewed Scientific Literature.” The study is yet another attempt to convey the nebulous notion that widespread scientific consensus exists regarding the primary causal factor behind climate change. A previous study, spearheaded by climate blogger activist John Cook, concluded in 2013 there was “97 percent consensus.” Despite near-universal acclaim and its citation by leading policymakers such as the United Kingdom’s energy minister, the study was inherently flawed. Dr. Mike Hulme of the University of East Anglia explains, “The ‘97% consensus’ article is poorly conceived, poorly designed and poorly executed. It

Penn Jillette, the tall half of the hugely successful magician duo Penn & Teller, is one of the entertainment industry’s most outspoken atheists. For decades, Jillette has smugly condemned all manner of religious, psychic, and pseudoscientific irrationality. This and no other is the root from which a tyrant springs; when he first appears he is a protector. —Plato Observing Doctor Fauci's behavior since the start of this COVID-19 pandemic, I am reminded of an episode of the original Twilight Zone series written by Rod Serling: "On Thursday We Leave for Home." According to The Twilight Zone Companion, by Marc Scott Zicree, Serling considered it the best episode of the fourth season. Evil is a very strong word, when used properly. Merriam-Webster defines it many ways, the most relevant to what I’m talking about being “morally reprehensible” and “arising from actual or imputed bad character or conduct.” That is the modern left, the “progressive movement,” the “Democratic” Party. And to fight evil, to stop it, is the most important thing anyone can do.What justifies the use of “evil” as a descriptor? It’s a dangerous word to use, one that has been abused throughout history to demonize innocent people as well as condemn the guilty.
