A new forecast on energy costs for heating in New York state calls for a spike in those expenses this coming winter. During an annual presentation by the state of the NY State Public Service Commission last week, staffers said that on average, statewide, consumers will be hit with about a 21% increase in heating costs over the entire winter compared to last year. Rochester Gas and Electric is forecasting about a 33% average increase over the winter for natural gas customers. PSC Commissioner Diane Burman worried about the impact of price hikes if there is an unusually cold winter

Comments:

Some are worried that the price spike is being downplayed and customers will be shocked by coming heating bills.

Heating costs are going to go up for ALL Americans everywhere thanks to Mr. Joe Biden and his really stupid move that took away America's Independence of fossil fuels. But let's face facts, Thanks to Mr. Biden everything is going up. Food, delivery costs, taxes, fuel, electricity, everything but Social Security and pensions that retired Americans live on. Supporting the many illegals and Afghani's and thousands of Haitians being allowed in the country, at a time when Americans are being screwed over by Biden's expensive policies and crazy environmental plans and higher taxes is going to send many Americans into financial strife this year and we have 3 more years to go being run by a mentally unfit moron and a Democrat party that seems as moronic as it's leader.

During the Jimmy Carter reign , we had to turn down our thermostats to about 65! (in Minnesota!), wear gloves indoors, seal our drafty windows with 3m plastic film, use dangerous space heaters indoors, and stack bagged fall leaves around our house foundations for extra insulation. The icing on the cake: No outdoor Christmas light displays. Bring back the PIP index for Let's Go Brandon!

There will be hundreds of thousands of elderly and poor who will simply not be able to afford huge heating bills. Since the Dems want to borrow trillions to p*** away maybe they can send a few bucks to those people huddling in their cold homes but only if they are black. Whites need not apply.

Most people don't know it because the cold weather isn't here yet, but rationing is already taking place because of selling gas at much higher prices to Europe and other places. I say stop rationing here, ship all Europe and others want, shut down the pipelines to the northeast. We can always blame it on Russian hackers.

I have a gas well on my property run by the crookedest gas company in the country. For ten years they insisted it belonged to them and stole all the money for themselves. When Mom died, I hired a lawyer and proved to them it was mine and they were just leasing it, and owed 10 years worth of money. They refused to pay and shut down the well. That was 2017. It still isn't reopened. Must not be much of a shortage.

Vote Woke demonrat socialist and freeze your butts off when there is plenty to go around. We have over 400 years worth of coal, newly found reserves of clean-burning natural gas, and oil, yet there is a FORCED MIGRATION by the new hippies against using these things, while India and China pollute the atmosphere WITH IMPUNITY!!!! This whole scheme is NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME, but being forced upon us...... the technology does not yet exist... It is Democrat Party policy for your heating bill to be higher and higher, forever. Intentional POLICY, not any kind of an accident. They WANT you poorer and colder in the winter, hotter in the summer. Intentional.

When the Biden administration looked for ways to pay for the president’s expansive social policy bill, it proposed raising revenue by cracking down on $7 trillion in unpaid taxes, mostly from wealthy Americans and businesses. To help find those funds, the administration wants banks to give the Internal Revenue Service new details on their customers and provide data for accounts with total annual deposits or withdrawals worth more than $600. That has sparked an uproar among banks and Republican lawmakers, who say giving the IRS such power would be an enormous breach of privacy and government overreach. Banks and their

Norway's Supreme Court on Monday ruled that two wind parks built in the country's west were harming reindeer herders from the Sami people by encroaching on their pastures. It was not immediately clear what the consequences of the finding will be. "Their construction has been declared illegal, and it would be illegal to continue operating them," said Andreas Bronner, who represented a group of herders alleging harm from one of the

The U.S. economy is facing a new threat: rising energy prices. Crude oil has risen 64% this year to a seven-year high. Natural-gas prices have roughly doubled over the past six months to a seven-year high. Heating oil has risen 68% this year. Prices at the pump are up nearly a dollar over the past 12 months to a national average just over $3 a gallon. Coal prices are at records. Higher energy prices could push up inflation in coming months, damp consumer spending on other products and services, and ultimately slow the U.S. recovery, economists say. “For consumers it’s
