Tens of thousands of migrants from other countries are making their way north to the southern border, an open border activist and government officials warn. Irineo Mujica, Director of Pueblo Sin Fronteras, an NGO that provides "shelter and safety to migrants and refugees in transit" and accompanies them "in their journey," says a new Haitian caravan is making its way to the U.S. border from Tapachula, Mexico. He also says 800 Haitians and Central Americans are crossing the Guatemalan border every day making their way north. The Haitian caravan is supposed to leave around Oct. 25 from Mexico, with or without clearance from Mexico, he says.

Comments:

85,000 more have passed Panama since January. Haitians, and all the rainbow garbage of the world. We are doomed.

The states need to take over and defend their own borders. Let the fed government sue them and prolong the process as long as possible in the courts. I’m sure they can produce enough good lawyers to prolong the process as long as necessary.

Left-wing climate protesters hit the D.C. streets Monday, vandalizing a statue of former President Andrew Jackson and swarming the White House while warning President Biden to take their demands seriously. The Build Back Fossil Free coalition took to the DC streets Monday with their five-day-long protest's aim to spur action by the Biden administration against climate change, mainly by declaring a national emergency and ending projects involving fossil fuels. Siqiñiq Maupin, director of coalition core member the Sovereign Inupiat for a Living Arctic, told Fox News in a Monday email statement that the protest was happening because they believe Biden needs to follow through on his campaign promises.

Hundreds of thousands of U.S. service members remain unvaccinated or only partially vaccinated against the coronavirus as the Pentagon's first compliance deadlines near, with lopsided rates across the individual services and a spike in deaths among military reservists illustrating how political division over the shots has seeped into a nonpartisan force with unambiguous orders. Overall, the military's vaccination rate has climbed since August, when Defense Department leaders, acting on a directive from President Joe Biden, informed the nation's 2.1 million troops that immunization would become mandatory, exemptions would be rare and those who refuse would be punished. Yet troops' response has been scattershot, according to data assessed by The Washington Post.

Republicans have been against raising the debt limit — especially given that Joe Biden wants to break the bank and pass massive spending spree legislation — and have already voted twice against it. So in order to raise the debt limit, Democrats have been trying to figure out how to get around the filibuster and raise it by a simple majority. Democrats have been tossing around the idea of an exception to the filibuster. But Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) said today he isn’t having any of that. He said once again today that he’s standing by the filibuster and he isn’t going to go for any exemption from it.

There have been multiple reports of military planes arriving at Bagram airbase in Afghanistan, just hours after images emerged showing that power was restored to the base for the first time since US forces evacuated the stronghold in July. Images circulating on social media appear to show the airbase's floodlights blazing in the distance, amid reports that several military planes have taken off and landed at the base in recent hours. Several sources suggest that the aircraft are Chinese, given the Taliban are not thought to possess the expertise needed to power the base or maintain and fly several military aircraft.

The policy requires asylum seekers at the southern border to remain in Mexico while they await hearings to determine their eligibility and status, rather than allowing a release of migrants into the U.S.

California will soon ban the sale of new gas-powered leaf blowers and lawn mowers after Governor Gavin Newsom signed off on the new law on Saturday. The move is aimed at curbing emissions from a category of small engines on pace to produce more pollution each year than passenger vehicles. The gas-powered equipment to be banned uses small off-road engines, a broad category that includes generators, lawn equipment, pressure washers, chainsaws, weed trimmers and even golf carts. Under the new law these machines must be zero-emissions, meaning they'll have to be battery-powered or plug-in.(Snip)'This is a pretty modest approach to trying

Talk of “peace in our time” is exactly the wrong answer to China’s “We’re ready to rumble” message. Washington needs to act, and now, to get Beijing to back down.

We’ve been talking about how bad the polling has been for Joe Biden, even in deep-blue states like Minnesota. How do you know when it’s getting really bad? When even CNN — usually all in to pimp for Biden — is acknowledging how underwater he is in job approval. He’s down even with Democrats, but what they say is really animating the poll is how much he has dropped with independents. As CNN’s John Berman and Harry Enten put it, the technical term is “not good.” He’s down 10 points among Democrats, 12 among Republicans, but among independents, he’s down 19 points.

Bullying and harassment—particularly of young transgender Americans and LGBTQ+ people of color—still abounds, diminishing our national character. “From defeating discriminatory bills to passing the Equality Act, we have more work to do to ensure that every American can live free
