Wants to Break Up the Country. Here’s
Why They’re Wrong.

Original Article

Divorce usually isn’t a good idea, and that’s especially true of a nearly 250-year-old continental nation. The notion of a national breakup has long simmered as a fringe argument, but it is increasingly popular in certain precincts of the political right and has gained at least some traction with partisans of both sides. A recent survey by the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia found that about 50 percent of Donald Trump voters and 40 percent of Joe Biden voters agreed to some extent with the proposition that the country should split up, with either red or blue states seceding.

Comments:

The Republic of Texas approaches. Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, S Dakota, N Dakota, Montana, Alberta (Canada), Saskatchewan (Canada), Manitoba (Canada), and a few states along the sides. Let's go EAST. Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida. We have every shipping port in The Gulf of Mexico and half the Atlantic and more oil than the Saudis ever dreamed of. California and New York can print their own money. If they want to trade they can use Panama. We WILL protect our borders ,north, south, east, and west. If you're coming to visit Texas bring your US passport with the pre-approved visitor's visa. Read the last 3 paragraphs. The author explains why it's a GOOD idea.

Rather than breakup this great nation, just enforce the laws. That will fix the majority of our ills perpetrated by the left.

Lowry is a fake "conservative", an anti-Trump puke that I won't even bother reading. Note that he's not even writing in his normal NR (he and his ilk have driven off huge swaths of readership) platform, on the execrable Politico, almost never worth bothering with, anyway. Not yet certain that our only good choice is partition, but it is looking more workable than the hideous mess we already have ever day.

The KGB has been predicting a break-up of the United States since the 80s and possibly arlier than that. There are about one thousand people of influence in America that if neutralized in some way would set the country back on the right track. Evil chaos and ugly contentious government has been the norm since the rise of Nancy Pelosi. Barak Obama came into the presidency with hate in his heart and a desire to fundamentally change society...for the worse. There are truly evil, marxist-communists people now in high office that have long admired the now late Soviet Union and want gulags for dissenters. After Pelosi and Obama, neutralize the remaining 998 and America would once again be rainbows and puppies on the road to Emerald city.

Lowry can go pound sand, the worm! Considering Texans owe a huge debt of gratitude to Tennessee (look it up), I would feel quite slighted not being included in the party. Remember where you came from! You would be hard pressed to find a more red state than Tennessee. Plus, we make fine whiskey.

I would be saddened to see it break apart, but really it has been for years. Several states have not been part of America since they adopted and keep reelecting communists. The federal government no longer exists to protect the rights of its citizens. Rather, it exists to eradicate them. I'd like to be in the free America the founders intended please. The three legitimate Biden voters can have the rest.

Perhaps we could just eject the West Coast and most of New England and let them form two communist countries. They will thrive selling maple syrup plus they grow all those vegetables in CA. The can sell avocados, quinoa and kale to each other. What could go wrong? Of course the South tried to secede in 1861. All they wanted was to be left alone but the North would have lost their “agricultural colony” and the warm water ports which meant the North couldn’t import or export anything in the winter. This prompted Lincoln to invade the South and start a bloody, illegal war that killed 600,000 soldiers and hundreds of thousands of civilians.

There is no living with left wing tyranny. They take over and ruin everything. The only way is to split up. It is going to get a lot worse. We are have another 7.5 years of Biden. The elections are arranged, so forget about that hope. Ben Franklin: "he that lives on hope will die fasting". A lot could be learned from Ben Franklin about these debts---but nobody listens.

The map of states fighting a vax mandate would be a good start, then add some of the conservative states that are not on the map because of a sole Democrat governor. Then annex the conservative counties within the communist states. Then build a massive wall around those borders, throw out illegal invaders, and give the communists that remain a choice of where they want to move and pay them for their property and travel expenses. Then enforce the constitution. Oh, you can put Mitch McConnell on the priority list for moving.

Follow the Constitution, particularly the 10th amendment. The US is essentially a coalition of sovereign states, designed by the genius of the Founding Fathers, who knew even then that a nation as large and rich as ours could not become monolithic enough to survive. And there is nothing much that residents of the "flyover states" have in common with northeasterners and west coastal elites in this country anymore than we have in common with most foreign nations. The founding fathers had it right in adopting a Constitution that essentially bound a group of sovereign states together, but severely limited powers of the Federal Government. And by the way, I agree that Lowry is one of the "other guys", who is definitely aligned with the coastal elites

Lowry makes sense from Lowry's POV. The what we called "The United States of America" -- that "Constitutional Republic" -- still existed. Does it? I'd say "in name only." Washington DC players have their own laws -- and few they make for us actually apply to them. Theirs is not a government "Of, by and for the people." It exists for their gain (and in their opinion, so do 'We the People"). I've come to the above conclusion slowly and painfully. That as a man We the People elected -- President Trump (who I did not initially support) -- shwed the difference. Power was returned to those to whom it, under our constitution, belonged. And with it freedom and peace and prosperity. He was block by those (supposedly our representatives -- and these of both parties!) every time he took a stand on OUR behalf that challenged the schemes and totally selfish desires of the DC establishment. So that "USA" is gone. Forever? One could hope not, but I see little reason to believe that. Not now with the courts and so-called "Department of Justice" (Hah!) and even now it seems the military under their sway. Nome of us wished for this. Many prefer to deny it. I no longer can -- or for that matter, even any longer pretend.

Given Lowry's political orientation (National Revue) this article is simply a plea to keep the system, a system that benefits those in the swamp/deep state/elite, in place. The arguments offered against dissolution are weak and offer no solution to the incurable disease that afflicts this country. Binding the "citizens" of this land under the rule and subjugation of what the Federal Government has morphed into is for all intense purposes forced indentured servitude, which is taking away more of our rights and freedom every day. Regardless of the next steps chosen, the "United States" has forever changed from what it was and strived to be since its founding and it will never be that again.

Heck no to division. United we stand, divided we fall. There is no way chopping us up.would be good in any way, shape or form. It wouldn't fix anything anyway. Every state has people of many different ideologies. The political scene is not real. Even California is not as deep blue as people think. It is just that the system was one of the first to be rigged...just like our 2020 election was.

I believe too many Texans have fought for this country for us to draw back across the Red River to hunker down as a way to avoid the unpleasant fight that's brewing. Do nothing, we lose the country but a national divorce is a cowardly way to try to avoid fighting for our birthright freedoms that were won in blood and in danger of being lost in complacency.

All I know is an America under a one-party system like it is today is very bad. For all of us. Show me a place in the world where it is good. There isn't. Somehow, America, as founded, must be restored. Just return America to the things that made it the greatest nation on this earth. Another commenter suggests that we for starters, start enforcing our laws again, equally, for rich and the poor. The new world order and the Great Reset crowds can just jam it sideways as far as I am concerned. To split up America? A last resort perhaps. And how are we going to keep the resulting red republics from going lefty eventually, anyway? Lots of unintended consequences to splitting up. We must think it through and understand what are these unintended consequences. Except for taking our kids out of the public schools in search of better educational opportunity and mad as hell parents getting in the faces of some school boards, there is a lot more we need to do to fix the mess we are in. The dims' and deep state's 100-year march to socialism and corruption is why we are here. It will take that long to get back out. But, the door is closing. It's now or never.

Federalism, as the Framers intended it, solves the problem. 50 sovereign states have no need for a national divorce. The problem is the courts, not the Constitution. Time to reverse Marbury v Madison. If it takes a Constitutional amendment to do it, so be it. We need a Convention of States anyway to consider other issues, like a balanced budget amendment, abolishing the Fed, return to the gold standard, gutting the "deep state", and a host of other issues.

As said before, we need to make sure we ENFORCE the laws, ensure all laws are applied EQUALLY and fairly, and we must root out all the corrupt traitors. After that, we must make sure the corruption can no longer thrive. That is make EVERY agency 100% accountable and with citizen oversight, cut all ties between big businesses and government, make all politicians' income transparent, get rid of big lobbying and influence, get money out of the equation, and bring integrity back to our elections. If you break up any of the country, you will be destroying the last hope of freedom for the world and we will become easy pickings for China to sweep down and take over. They would love it if we broke up. So would the tyrants who would have control of our coasts. The freedom-lovers would be cut off from all trade. I could go on and on but the point is that such thinking is just a short-sighted and emotional response to our current problems. To be honest, it is just plain stupid and ignorant to think we could survive a break up and fare better than we are now. The only reason we are in this predicament is because WE THE PEOPLE got spoiled, lazy and complacent. Those that did care and wanted to act we either frightened little sheep or thought someone else could fix things. No, WE are responsible for not standing up sooner. We are barely starting to wake up and stand up. If we stopped complaining and actually DID SOMETHING, we could fix this mess, get the truth out and restore the sanity to our country. One man cannot do it alone. All of us must act but do NOT wait for others to start. Each of us must make a first move. Yes, courage is contagious, and others will follow, but there is no time to wait for them. There are MORE of us than there are of them. So, what is your excuse?? Why aren't you doing something...anything besides whining about "them"? Stand up!! DEMAND justice! Demand a 50 state audit of the 2020 election! Demand criminal investigations and prosecution of all traitors who participated in fraud. Demand the DOJ and all alphabet agencies clean house! Demand political accountability!! DO NOT LET UP NO MATTER WHAT!! There is so much to do and I ask, what are you doing?? You personally don't have to do a lot yourself... that is why our numbers are so great and will make us win. But you HAVE to do something. We ALL do. So, what are you doing?? Can you write a blog? Can you get people together? Can you influence or motivate others? Can you write a letter or make a phone call? Can you go to various sites and make clear and concise statements of truth without resorting to arguing or name-calling? Any of these, and more, would be a good start. So, what are you going to do? Take the lazy routes and watch the continual decline and destruction of your nation and society as the determined and relentless tyrants steal your freedom, your lives and everything you and your predecessors worked and sacrificed for?? Or will you be a RED-BLOODED American and fight like a scrapper for what is rightly yours, like our Founders did? I'm waiting to see who still wants to sell out...or not. NO FEAR...NO SURRENDER!!

Divorce can be the last resort to an abusive marriage where one partner continually abuses the other. Abusive Marriage Behavior like controlling your thoughts, your movements, your friends, where you go, who you speak to, the money you have or don't have. In abusive marriages where one partner lords it over the other and there's no freedom, there is no recourse but division. And that's how we are feeling with this tyrannical Biden/Obama regime where we are their enemy to be put down. Look at Australia to see our future with these Commies, where citizens are beaten down to the sidewalk because they didn't have a mask on outside, even though only one or two have died of Covid in Eastern Australia. They are worse Communists than China where Chinese are allowed outside. May God have mercy.

Range typically occupies an outsized chunk of the conversation on any new EV. But, in the case of the F-150 Lightning, which has the bestselling pickup's usual healthy scoop of towing and hauling capabilities, things get more complicated. Ford is claiming that the range figures for its electric pickup will come in at 230 miles and 300 miles, depending on whether the standard-range (which we estimate can hold 115.0 kWh) or extended-range battery pack (150.0 kWh, same caveat) is beneath the bed. Those are EPA predictions, specifically EPA combined figures, in lightly loaded conditions.

A pregnant teacher twisted her ankle trying to get the hell out of Dodge; she was treated at the scene and released. Another victim (whose age I have not been able to determine) was hospitalized and then released. Finally, a 15-year-old is still in the hospital in critical condition.
