Yesterday, there was a school shooting in Texas. Around 9:15 a.m., police in Arlington, TX, got the first call of shots fired at Timberview High School. When officers responded, they found three people wounded and one injured. A 25-year old victim, identified in various reports as a teacher, was hospitalized in “good” condition. A pregnant teacher twisted her ankle trying to get the hell out of Dodge; she was treated at the scene and released. Another victim (whose age I have not been able to determine) was hospitalized and then released. Finally, a 15-year-old is still in the hospital in critical condition. The suspect was quickly identified

This has to have set a record for fastest arrest, charge, and release. I saw that one of the victims was described as in "good" condition. That is not a term I would have chosen for someone shot with a 45.

Soros prosecutor? How do you shoot 4 persons in something that has no chance of being ruled self-defense (he went and got the gun and came back), and you are released? The shooter can't even legally possess the gun he used. Kyle Rittenhouse got thrown under the jail for an act that is pretty clearly self-defense.

You can tell when posters read the article … or didn’t. This guy was seriously bullied because he was clean-cut, had decent clothes, a decent car. Lived in a nice house in a nice middle class neighborhood. He was beaten, robbed. You name it. His handling it did not show the best judgement, but in a situation like that, what would you guys do? Probably never been in a situation like that.

#11 - If you think that going out and getting a gun afterwards and coming back and shooting the bully and the teacher is justified, lets just say you are not the person I want on a jury. Normally I agree with your postings, but I think you are completely off base here. This is in no manner self-defense. He cannot own or possess the handgun he used. He could have simply walked away. Instead, he decided to go get the gun, and indiscriminately start shooting.

And you know that the reporter is lying when they say "four shot". This says "teacher and two students", and is still an exaggeration. Two people were shot and injured by bullets, one intentionally, one by accident. One pregnant woman fell down in the rush, and was fine very quickly. One student had an abrasion, apparently on an arm....claimed from a bullet, may well have been from a bullet but hardly qualifies as "shot". T As soon as the "news source" is found lying, you can count on there being MORE lies that you haven't yet discovered. This article is less slanted than several that I have read on this. Bad choice to use a gun for self-defense in this situation? Almost certainly, but perhaps there was a credible threat of death, at least to a teen. I have been beaten up by bullies and the ONLY thing that works is hurting them back. I always was able to do it with my fists, fortunately, after a bit of coaching from my father, who boxed in the service in WW2. There will be more to this story than we know now, I am sure. I think it's possible that this is a different kind of case than most. Still not convinced either way, but some of the reporting is fraudulent, and that raises red flags for me. He was seriously overmatched physically by the younger "kid". Age and size don't always correlate. I'm not in school, not of school age, of course, and I'm a better shot, but if I was being beaten like that, I'd use my .45 to protect myself, too. Old saying, "better judged by 12 than carried by 6". He will be judged by 12 now, and not by us. He might have been killed. A substantial fraction of all murders involve no weapon beyond hands, elbows, knees and feet.

Ordinarily the commenters on this site are perceptive and frequently witty, if not downright droll. However, I am disappointed to read what others have posted in regard to this incident. For bond to have been so low is an indication that he poses little to no risk of flight, and nothing more. Pre-trial detention is not "punishment" (or it was not so intended until the Biden DOJ decided to exert its evil power against those who oppose it)it is intended to assure that the accused appears for his criminal process. The authorities in Texas are not known for leniency, so there must be more to this than meets the eye. Regardless of this aspect of the story, it does reinforce the conclusion that sending one's child to a public indoctrination/incarceration institution (a/k/a, "school") is a serious error in judgment.

This kind of garbage is exactly why any politician who proposes any additional gun control laws should be told to go eat a bag of peckers. Here we have a criminal who attempted mass murder with a firearm and in a mere 24 hours their sweet little oppressed minority is walking free, and they are making excuses for him. They don't need any new laws, because they are not bothering to enforce the current laws.

Keep telling yourself that, #24. I have dealt with more of this scum than you can possibly imagine. You do not get to claim self-defense after the incident by going out, getting a gun, coming back and spraying bullets indiscriminately. The law is very clear on this, despite the touchy-feely crap being posited by a few here. And even if it was for the dimwit feral that started the fight, how do you justify shooting the teacher? Some days ago, Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, who is one of the moderates holding up Biden’s “build back better” agenda, was accosted and filmed in a public bathroom. The illegal immigrant activists blistered her for not supporting a pathway to citizenship via reconciliation, something the Senate parliamentarian has already said can’t be done anyway. But it was really the reaction to that scene that held the most impact. You expect far-left lunatics to be far-left lunatics. President Biden did not mention a labor shortage in remarks following the release of a disappointing jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Friday. Biden blamed lower-than-expected hiring levels on the spread of the Delta variant of coronavirus. The Bureau’s report found that the U.S. added just 194,000 jobs in September, compared with the 500,000 expected by economists. “Remember, today’s report is based on a survey that was taken during the week of September 13…when COVID cases were averaging more than 150,000 per day,” Biden said. “Since then, we’ve seen the daily cases fall by more than one-third, and they’re continuing to trend down.” Biden also repeatedly

There’s a four-word expression that seems to be used a lot when it comes to Joe Biden and, in particular, his actions when it comes to the economy — fails to meet expectations. How many times have we heard this when talking about the jobs report under Biden? Well, here we are again. It’s October and now the September numbers are in and they “fail to meet expectations.” When even CNN has to say how bad it is, you know it’s bad. Here they are saying it’s “way less than expected,” less than last month, and “the worst of the year.”

According to economists, we’re at the beginning of a “shortage economy” where shortages of goods like electronics and clothing will become commonplace. Yes, the pandemic is partly to blame. Factories shut down and are just now revving up to full capacity. The “supply chain bottleneck” has become a fact of life. More than that, there’s almost $10 trillion worth of government stimulus in the West that’s burning holes in people’s pockets. But there are several other factors affecting the supply of many goods. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) made the Democrats an offer they didn’t refuse in order to avoid the problem of the debt limit and throwing things into chaos. Suddenly what had looked in November like a narrow Biden victory and congress split between parties was total Democrat power. Sort of. Once it was realized that Democrats would control a 50/50 senate by dint of Vice President Kamala Harris’ tie breaking vote another thing became instantly clear. That Sen.
