White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki claimed during Monday’s press briefing that it would be “unfair and absurd” for companies to raise costs on consumers in response to the Biden administration raising the corporate tax rate. Forbes noted in a report that it was “important to remember that corporate taxes must be paid by people,” the report said. “Any corporate tax increase will be paid by either shareholders/owners, employees in the form of lower wages, or customers in the form of higher prices.”

There is no such thing as a corporate tax. The increased cost of producing goods is always passed on to the consumer.

It's bad enough that businesses are losing their shirts to Covid restrictions and higher prices for fuel and inventories. Now not-my-president Lyin' Joe biden and the purely evil Demon-Rats in Congress want to massively raise their taxes. Of course they are going to pass those additional costs to their customers. Or they are going to go out of business. Economics 101, which is clearly something no Demon-Rat has ever understood!!!!!

Life's hard. It's even harder when you're stupid. It's called economics, sweetie. I know you government job denizens never have to face things like budgets or bills or payrolls or other costs of doing business but TAXES are a big one of those exact things. And everyone who actually earns their paycheck knows "There is no such thing as a corporate tax." All taxes are passed onto the consumer in the form of increased cost of the product. Now do that with a product where new taxes have been imposed 3 and 4 times over along the supply chain and that $2 widget now costs $4 and all thanks to government interference in the form of taxation. More taxes imposed never results in more taxes collected... we have seen this time and time again. And like a dog returns to it's vomit, Democrats just keep trying to tax us into prosperity.

Fascists, Marxists, Socialist Democrats—all people who imagine themselves able to command the laws of economics and human nature—ALL of them—produce two things in abundance: Misery and scapegoats. This crop is no different. When Psaki says, "in the past, companies have passed on these costs to consumers. . . . We feel that that’s unfair and absurd, and the American people would not stand for that," she's simply setting up another scapegoat.

This Psaki is situated mentally somewhere between Peppermint Patty and Raggedy Ann being dummer than a rock it she believes that businesses will not pass on the costs of doing business or taxes to consumers. That’s what always happens whenever the Democrats raise taxes supposedly on “the top one percent” of taxpayers as the Democrats call them, who have the wherewithal to hire the best tax lawyers and accountants and to lobby politicians to the effect that they end up paying the least amount of taxes possible. The proof is in the pudding as that is always what has happened in the past, so there is no doubt it would be the vast middle class that would actually pay almost all the increased tax burden, as about 60 percent of all US families at the lower end of the income scale already have no federal tax liability. As an example it is being said that Biden himself, by manipulating the tax laws through his accountants and tax lawyers has managed to evade, at least so far, about a half million dollars in federal taxes that he rightfully should have paid. Do you think Biden is going to sign into law any new tax laws that would require him to pay more taxes? Give us a break!

Images circulating on social media appear to show the airbase's floodlights blazing in the distance, amid reports that several military planes have taken off and landed at the base in recent hours. Several sources suggest that the aircraft are Chinese, given the Taliban are not thought to possess the expertise needed to power the base or maintain and fly several military aircraft.

With all the different people involved in the current chaos going on in Washington, one name you wouldn’t expect to hear is Hillary Clinton. After all, she’s not a relevant figure outside of her cult fan base. Yet, the two-time failed presidential candidate — who lost the 2016 election and then blamed Russia for four years — decided to weigh in, and I’m pretty sure she’s lost her mind. Trump well and truly broke this woman. [Tweet] Before we get to Hillary, I just want to point out that this staff writer for The Atlantic claims to be genuinely afraid of the fall of our government and “minority rule.”

On Saturday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Yasmin Vossoughian Reports,” Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY) argued that the $3.5 trillion price tag for the Build Back Better Act reconciliation package “is a modest investment” for an economy the size of America’s. Torres said, “[T]here’s misconception about the price tag of the Build Back Better Act. The Build Back Better Act, the original draft, it is not 3.5 trillion over the course of a year. It’s over the course of ten years. So, it’s $350 billion. Which, for a $20 trillion economy like ours, is a modest investment. So, I think it’s shortsighted to focus on the price tag.”

Benedict Cumberbatch is reflecting on playing a closeted cattle rancher who falls in love with a young man in 1920s Montana in his new movie “The Power of the Dog.” The Oscar-nominated actor plays Phil Burbank, a hypermasculine rancher who inspires fear in awe in those around him—a reign of terror that comes from a deeply closeted sexuality. His made-up persona runs into some trouble after his brother (Jesse Plemons) brings home a new wife (Kirsten Dunst) and her queer son (Kodi Smit-McPhee). Phil torments them until he finds himself exposed to the possibility of love.

A black woman has been charged with posing as a member of the Ku Klux Klan and posting notes through neighbors' doors threatening to kill their children. Terresha Lucas, 30, has been charged with eight counts of making terroristic threats, according to the Douglasville, Georgia Police Department. Investigators allege that Lucas wrote letters describing herself as a ‘six-feet-tall white male with a long, red beard who did not live in the neighborhood.’ In March, residents of the Brookmont subdivision of Manning Drive in Douglasville, some 23 miles west of Atlanta, began receiving threatening, racist letters in the mail. Despite having the highest vaccination rates in the country, there are constant reminders for most New England states of just how vicious the delta variant of COVID-19 is. Hospitals across the region are seeing full intensive care units and staff shortages are starting to affect care. Public officials are pleading with the unvaccinated to get the shots. Health care workers are coping with pent-up demand for other kinds of care that had been delayed by the pandemic. “I think it’s clearly frustrating for all of us,” said Michael Pieciak, the commissioner of the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation who monitor

There’s always press coverage about Republican mismanagement or Republicans getting into trouble governing as ideologues, but you don’t hear much about the reverse. There’s a lot to critique about Republicans, but for mismanagement and for blindly putting ideology above all else, President Joe Biden may be the all-time champ.Biden campaigned as a pragmatist who could bring stability and national unification. His inaugural address was all about these themes. America needs some level of national healing more than anything else. Americans can’t go on at each other’s throats. The country is falling apart.
