Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley said on Friday he is running for reelection in 2022, announcing plans to hold a series of public events over the weekend to spearhead his pursuit for an eighth term in the Senate. Grassley, 88, made his reelection announcement in a Twitter post after months of speculation of whether or not he would seek an additional term as Republicans seek to maintain hold of his coveted post.

Well glory be. Another 6 years for a damn dinosaur in the Senate. Grassley would be 94 at the end of his next term. 41 years in the Senate. Is there no one younger that can represent Iowa?

This is ridiculous. 88 years old and he’s running for re-election? No.

He’s running to fatten the family bank account. At 88 his cognition is degraded and he’s doing what he is told. Seriously Iowa, aren’t there some promising young Republicans in your state? These dinosaurs trying to hold onto their seats until death are absurd. This is not what the founders had in mind.

Good Lord, Iowa! Is there not anyone else that is genuine, really "for the people" in Iowa to run as a genuine Republican for the Senate? Like so many, this man has made a career in the Senate . . . not necessarily a good thing. For the most part from what I know, Grassley is a good man, but his time has come and gone. IMHO of course!

Conservatives in Iowa can’t be surprised that Grassley is running and if they don’t see what’s happening to our country then they’re fools. Now we have Cloward and Piven in all it’s hideous glory taking shark bites out of our Constitution. If that isn’t enough to arouse Conservatives in a traditionally conservative state so that they run someone who can beat Grassley and any Democrat then, whether we all deserve it or not, Obama’s promise to fundamentally transform America will be a lot closer to realization. Where are our men?

What is it about power - - that's so intoxicating to these people? Regular, decent people - - like us - - have no desire to control anyone else's life - - but these "public servants" live for nothing else. There must be some sort of evil seed in the human character - - which brings out the worst in these power-hungry lunatics.

While he is an extraordinary man, I am surprised. They all love him on the hill, but for me, the entire biofuel debacle is awful. Biofuels cause increased cases of heart disease, respiratory symptoms, asthma, chronic bronchitis or premature death. And now Grassley Reintroduced Legislation To Expand Market For Biofuels Year-Round.

Reminiscent of all those hundred year old Chinese Communist Party people being pushed around in wheel chairs. They got the job for life. Why does Grassley keep on winning? Because he sucks all the money out of the Iowa election process so nobody else ever stands a chance against him. What are the odds when he finally does step down, he will be replaced by a Democrat?

Almost 100 percent of Americans need to be vaccinated before the country can safely return to normal, President Joe Biden claimed Monday. Biden said that “97%, 98%” is the goal as a country during his much-publicized appointment to receive a COVID-19 booster shot Monday. He offered no explanation for the number. Medical experts, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, have predicted that herd immunity would only require 70% to 85% of Americans to be vaccinated.

A provision added to the 2022 National Defense Authorization Act, the Pentagon’s annual budget, has raised some eyebrows among Second Amendment advocates because it would authorize military courts to issue protective orders making the possession or accessing of a firearm by a targeted service member unlawful, at least temporarily. The so-called “red flag” provision would also exempt military courts from denying members their Fifth Amendment right to due process, according to Fox News host Laura Ingraham, who discussed the issue with trial attorney, author, and retired Army Col. Kurt Schlichter.

A Democratic bill legalizing abortion on demand nationwide includes provisions for "every person capable of becoming pregnant," including "transgender men." The House on Friday passed the Women’s Health Protection Act along near party lines, in an effort to codify Roe v. Wade into federal law before the Supreme Court considers a case that could overturn the landmark decision. The bill notes that "transgender men, non-binary individuals, those who identify with a different gender … are unjustly harmed by restrictions on abortion services."

In a chaotic interview with "The View" Friday, Vice President Kamala Harris likened aggressive acts by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers on horseback at the southern border with the historical treatment of slaves and Indigenous Americans. The Lexington Herald-Leader obtained a preview of Peril, the upcoming book from Bob Woodward and Robert Costa that has already produced a multitude of explosive details on Trump’s last days in office. According to the new excerpt, McConnell is encouraging the GOP to move away from Trumpism, calling the ex-president “a fading brand. Retired. OTTB as they say in Kentucky — off-the-track Thoroughbred.” “There is a clear trend moving,” McConnell said. “Sucking up to Donald Trump is not a strategy that works.”
