New Zealand has extended its national lockdown by at least four days as it tries to contain the highly infectious Delta variant. The country first went into lockdown on August 17 after it detected a single COVID-19 case in Auckland, which health officials assumed was Delta. New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said Thursday that the infected individual had returned from Sydney, Australia - a COVID-19 hotspot - and arrived in Auckland, the country's largest city, on August 7. By the time it was announced on Monday that the lockdown was being extended, the outbreak was responsible for 107 cases, according to

Sounds like the lock down actually made it worse.

More like a crockdown. FTA: "Under Level 4 rules, New Zealanders can only leave the house for exercise, supermarket shopping, essential medical care including pharmacy visits, and getting a test." How much can governments get away with? They'll have us all eating bugs soon enough, once the focus on the climate change crisis resumes, and most of us will like it.

The one underlying factor not mentioned much in all this panicporn is the DEATH rate. the COVID-19 fear factor has been compared to the Black Death of Europe which killed an estimated twenty-five percent to a third of the medieval population. This “terrifying” Delta Variant has a 98 plus percent survival rate. In comparison, the 1918 bug had a death rate of 2.7% or a 97.3% survival rate. Personally, I know of just one family member who died of the 1918 flu. As of now, only my twenty-one year old granddaughter had Covid and it was no worse than a typical cold and she is now healthy. It grates me to see this mask-wearing stampede everywhere I go, especially on a school campus. Because it’s my job, I have to wear a mask in the classroom. I’m one of just three people on the entire school ground outside without one. This is depressing and ignorant conformity. Getting back to this nuttiness in NZ and Australia, both liberal-led countries, they should take the example of Sweden; no lockdowns and optional masking. That is truly smart governance.

Several hundred American citizens in Afghanistan still haven’t decided whether they want to leave despite an “ongoing aggressive outreach campaign” and the fast-approaching withdrawal deadline for US forces of August 31, U.S. State Department spokesman Ned Price said Friday. Price told reporters that since August 14 – the day before Kabul fell to the Taliban – at least 5,100 American citizens have been evacuated, including 300 in the previous 24 hours. “There are approximately 500 American citizens we are currently working with who want to leave and with whom we are communicating directly to facilitate their evacuations,” Price said. “We

The U.S. Defense Department late Thursday revised its descriptions of the service members who were killed in Thursday’s Kabul airport attack in Afghanistan. The death toll for the U.S. military remained at 13, but Defense Department officials told Fox News that the count now stands at 10 Marines, two Army soldiers and one Navy corpsman killed in the attack. The revised information corrected a previous breakdown that said 12 Marines and one Navy corpsman had died. The attack was the deadliest day for the U.S. military in more than 10 years. In addition to those killed, at least 18 service

Ghani said he worried that a planned massive airlift of U.S. citizens and Afghan nationals who had helped the U.S. would send a disheartening signal and undermine confidence in his government’s ability to fight the Taliban, according to a senior administration official familiar with the discussions. Biden and his advisors listened, the official says, and in mid-July they decided to move ahead with

One of the most effective ways for the MSM to shut down an inquiry into misconduct is to say it is all a conspiracy theory. Besides avoiding an unwanted discussion, the charge also invites scrutiny of the "theorist" instead of the issue itself. Notice how quickly some even start off saying something like "I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but..." Expecting their reaction, we have become almost trained to do this.
