Restaurants and businesses across the country are choosing to reserve a table and 13 beers to honor the service members who died during Thursday's bombing near Kabul's Hamid Karzai International Airport. Ironwood Cafe in Ohio said the news hit close to home – Maxton "Max" Soviak is a native of Milan, Ohio and was among the fallen. "My husband, grandfather and many in my family served. So, when I read that one of Ohio's own died, I knew I wanted to make a small gesture to honor Max and the 12 other soldiers," Shannon Vasquez, general manager of the cafe told

MOSCOW - Russian anti-aircraft missile troops have arrived in Belarus with a mission of establishing a training centre in the city of Grodno near the border with Poland and Lithuania, the Belarus Defence Ministry said on Saturday. The move is likely to add to tensions between Belarus and its neighbours, Poland and Lithuania, countries it accuses of meddling in its affairs by hosting exiled opposition leaders and refusing to recognise Alexander Lukashenko's victory in last year's election. Lukashenko's critics say the vote was rigged, which he denies. Belarus' Defence Ministry said on social media that the decision to set up joint

WASHINGTON — It’s called the loneliest job in the world for a reason. Surrounded by everything a superpower can offer and watched by all, President Joe Biden wore the weight of a lonely man as he came to grips in recent days with the deadly end of the American effort in Afghanistan and tried to keep the focus on what, to him, is the bottom line. (Snip) Biden found himself in a real-time crisis that overrides the platitudes he offered when running for the office and in the early months of his presidency. “America is back," he likes to say.

KABUL, Afghanistan — The Taliban deployed extra forces around Kabul’s airport Saturday to prevent large crowds from gathering after a devastating suicide attack two days earlier, as the massive U.S.-led airlift wound down ahead of an Aug. 31 deadline. New layers of checkpoints sprang up on roads leading to the airport, some manned by uniformed Taliban fighters with Humvees and night-vision goggles captured from Afghan security forces. Areas where large crowds of people have gathered over the past two weeks in hopes of fleeing the country following the Taliban takeover were largely empty. A suicide attack Thursday by an Islamic

Rep. Jake Ellzey, R-Texas, who deployed to Afghanistan three times as a Navy fighter pilot, told Fox News in an exclusive interview he wants to know "who’s behind the curtain" after President Biden said during a Thursday press conference that he had been "instructed" to call on certain reporters. "Ladies and gentlemen, they gave me a list here. The first person I was instructed to call on was Kelly O'Donnell from NBC," said Biden, following his remarks on the ISIS-K attack that killed at least 13 American service members outside the Hamid Karzai international airport in Kabul. Ellzey acknowledged that

Several hundred American citizens in Afghanistan still haven’t decided whether they want to leave despite an “ongoing aggressive outreach campaign” and the fast-approaching withdrawal deadline for US forces of August 31, U.S. State Department spokesman Ned Price said Friday. Price told reporters that since August 14 – the day before Kabul fell to the Taliban – at least 5,100 American citizens have been evacuated, including 300 in the previous 24 hours. “There are approximately 500 American citizens we are currently working with who want to leave and with whom we are communicating directly to facilitate their evacuations,” Price said. “We

Thursday was “an excruciating day” for California carpenter Steve Nikoui. He knew his son Kareem, a young U.S. Marine, was stationed at the Kabul airport. But when he heard there had been a bombing there, he had no idea if Kareem was alive or dead. (Snip) “I haven’t gone to bed all night,” Nikoui continued. “I’m still in shock. I haven’t been able to grasp everything that’s going on.” As of right now, Nikoui’s plan is to go to Dover, Delaware, and pick up his son’s remains. Kareem “loved what he was doing, he always wanted to be a Marine,”

The U.S. Defense Department late Thursday revised its descriptions of the service members who were killed in Thursday’s Kabul airport attack in Afghanistan. The death toll for the U.S. military remained at 13, but Defense Department officials told Fox News that the count now stands at 10 Marines, two Army soldiers and one Navy corpsman killed in the attack. The revised information corrected a previous breakdown that said 12 Marines and one Navy corpsman had died. The attack was the deadliest day for the U.S. military in more than 10 years. In addition to those killed, at least 18 service

Joe Biden said during the 2020 Presidential campaign that he had the most experience of any person who ever ran for President because of the decades he spent in the United States Senate and eight years as Vice President for Barack Obama. (Snip) Actually, he said he was “instructed” whom to call upon. For real. Biden addressed the country and the White House Press Corps for about ten minutes regarding the bombings that took in Afghanistan early Thursday in which at least 13 United States service people lost their lives and many more were injured. I can’t really explain how

Left-wing MSNBC intelligence analyst Malcolm Nance initially downplayed Thursday's suicide bombing outside of Kabul's airport, which reportedly killed at least 12 U.S. service members, telling his nearly one million Twitter followers to "deal with it" before eventually deleting the tweet after widespread backlash. While the attacks near the airport resulted in multiple casualties and forced most media members to brace for the worst, Nance didn’t seem to think the terror attack was a big deal at the time. He ultimately deleted it. "20 Years- FYI there have been terrorist suicide bombers killing civilians nearly DAILY in Afghanistan. This ain’t new.

The former Royal Marine seeking to secure the passage of 200 dogs and cats alongside his animal shelter staff out of Afghanistan says the Taliban is blocking their evacuation. Paul Farthing, known as Pen, founded the Nowzad shelter in Kabul after serving with the British Army in Afghanistan in the mid-2000s, with the organisation rescuing dogs, cats and donkeys. Since the collapse of the Afghan government, he has campaigned to have his staff and their families as well as 140 dogs and 60 cats evacuated from the country in a privately chartered Airbus A330. On Tuesday, defence secretary Ben Wallace
