The former Royal Marine seeking to secure the passage of 200 dogs and cats alongside his animal shelter staff out of Afghanistan says the Taliban is blocking their evacuation. Paul Farthing, known as Pen, founded the Nowzad shelter in Kabul after serving with the British Army in Afghanistan in the mid-2000s, with the organisation rescuing dogs, cats and donkeys. Since the collapse of the Afghan government, he has campaigned to have his staff and their families as well as 140 dogs and 60 cats evacuated from the country in a privately chartered Airbus A330. They had been waiting 10 hours for the Taliban to let them enter the airport. With the new warnings to leave the airport, its unclear what will happen to all the animals.

Considering how these people feel about dogs, uh, is anyone surprised here that Farthing was not granted an easy departure?

I had a bad feeling about this story from the first moment I read about it. This entire effort hinged upon the humanity of a bunch of 7th Century neckbeards allowing it to proceed. And now, he's probably going to become a permanent resident of Afghanistan along with his staff because these filthy creatures have no humanity at all.

Ironic - the Brits will not let your dog in without a 6 month quarenteen, but the borders are open to any boat that lands with anyone on board.

Best witshes to this generous, brave man. Animals do not deserve to be harmed for man's lunacy and violence. The seventh century barbarians don't love animals, from all I have been able to learn.

Several hundred American citizens in Afghanistan still haven’t decided whether they want to leave despite an “ongoing aggressive outreach campaign” and the fast-approaching withdrawal deadline for US forces of August 31, U.S. State Department spokesman Ned Price said Friday. Price told reporters that since August 14 – the day before Kabul fell to the Taliban – at least 5,100 American citizens have been evacuated, including 300 in the previous 24 hours. “There are approximately 500 American citizens we are currently working with who want to leave and with whom we are communicating directly to facilitate their evacuations,” Price said. “We

Thursday was “an excruciating day” for California carpenter Steve Nikoui. He knew his son Kareem, a young U.S. Marine, was stationed at the Kabul airport. But when he heard there had been a bombing there, he had no idea if Kareem was alive or dead. (Snip) “I haven’t gone to bed all night,” Nikoui continued. “I’m still in shock. I haven’t been able to grasp everything that’s going on.” As of right now, Nikoui’s plan is to go to Dover, Delaware, and pick up his son’s remains. The U.S. Defense Department late Thursday revised its descriptions of the service members who were killed in Thursday’s Kabul airport attack in Afghanistan. The death toll for the U.S. military remained at 13, but Defense Department officials told Fox News that the count now stands at 10 Marines, two Army soldiers and one Navy corpsman killed in the attack. The revised information corrected a previous breakdown that said 12 Marines and one Navy corpsman had died. The attack was the deadliest day for the U.S. military in more than 10 years. In addition to those killed, at least 18 service

(Snip) Actually, he said he was “instructed” whom to call upon. For real. Biden addressed the country and the White House Press Corps for about ten minutes regarding the bombings that took in Afghanistan early Thursday in which at least 13 United States service people lost their lives and many more were injured. Left-wing MSNBC intelligence analyst Malcolm Nance initially downplayed Thursday's suicide bombing outside of Kabul's airport, which reportedly killed at least 12 U.S. service members, telling his nearly one million Twitter followers to "deal with it" before eventually deleting the tweet after widespread backlash. While the attacks near the airport resulted in multiple casualties and forced most media members to brace for the worst, Nance didn’t seem to think the terror attack was a big deal at the time. He ultimately deleted it. "20 Years- FYI there have been terrorist suicide bombers killing civilians nearly DAILY in Afghanistan. This ain’t new.

New Zealand has extended its national lockdown by at least four days as it tries to contain the highly infectious Delta variant. The country first went into lockdown on August 17 after it detected a single COVID-19 case in Auckland, which health officials assumed was Delta. When Afghanistan’s now-deposed President Ashraf Ghani visited President Joe Biden in the White House in late June, he expressed some concerns about how the U.S. planned to evacuate people ahead of the troop withdrawal from his country. Ghani said he worried that a planned massive airlift of U.S. citizens and Afghan nationals who had helped the U.S. would send a disheartening signal and undermine confidence in his government’s ability to fight the Taliban, according to a senior administration official familiar with the discussions. Biden and his advisors listened, the official says, and in mid-July they decided to move ahead with

The deep grief on President Biden’s face as his eyes swelled with tears was painful to watch. But his personal suffering cannot exonerate him from the responsibility for what happened in Kabul. Nor can his obscenely shameful effort to shift the blame to former President Donald Trump and even his own military commanders be taken seriously. One of the most effective ways for the MSM to shut down an inquiry into misconduct is to say it is all a conspiracy theory. Besides avoiding an unwanted discussion, the charge also invites scrutiny of the "theorist" instead of the issue itself. Notice how quickly some even start off saying something like "I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but..." Expecting their reaction, we have become almost trained to do this. But are there really no big conspiracies? It has been claimed that the phrase "conspiracy theory" was invented by the government to discourage the questioning of official explanations for important events, especially the JFK assassination.
