WASHINGTON – President Joe Biden said Wednesday his administration is taking steps to crack down on illegal activity that might be contributing to a rise in gas prices. Biden announced that the National Economic Council has asked the Federal Trade Commission to use “every available tool” to monitor the U.S. gasoline market and look for any illegal activity that might be causing gas prices to jump while the cost of a barrel of oil is going down. “That’s not what you’d expect in a competitive market,” Biden said from the White House. "I want to make sure that nothing stands

Look on the Gasbuddy map. Gas in California is averaging over $4.30 per gallon. It's a good thing they don't include energy prices in their inflation estimates. If they did, inflation would be out of control!

Biteme, when you shut down the fossil fuel industry in the U.S. there’s a good chance there will be less supply and other oil producing countries will take advantage…it’s called demand and supply. Go read an Econ 101 book.

Blame white supremacy and white privilege. That's what they blame everything else on.
Would be nice if the current administration had wised up, but we all know that's not going to happen.
Seriously, what has caused the spike in gasoline prices? Its more than the closure of a pipeline. What did they do? The Biden administration knows. Congress knows. The media probably knows. Proof that they can keep a secret when they want to.

Biden will probably send Harris out to claim she found that the “root cause” of the gas price increases is a criminal conspiracy between Trump and the Russians. If that happens, Pelosi will no doubt set up a new congressional committee to investigate Trump and the Russians for jacking up gas prices. It’s funny and shows the stupidity loose in the country, as here right with Trump as President before the last November election, the price of gas was about $1.50 a gallon, and now with Biden as President the price of a gallon of gas is over $3.00.
Don’t be surprised if Biden does not authorize the buying a lot of gas from the Russians claiming that will bring the price of gas down for minorities and the little people who he professes to represent. I seem to remember that before the November election that the USA was energy independent with no need to buy gas from any foreign country. I guess that has changed. Maybe Hunter or other Bidens will even snag a high paying job on the board of directors of the Russian energy company that would be importing gas to the USA.

“ Number two, holding them liable for what they have done,” the former vice president said of fossil fuel executives, “particularly in those cases where your underserved neighborhoods and – you know the deal, okay. And by the way, when they don’t want to deliver, put them in jail. I’m not joking about this.”
Biden is the joke, a vicious, dishonest and stunningly corrupt update of the President Dems never mention, LBJ.

Illegal activity. Is that when the cost of goods sold increases and higher costs are passed to the consumer? Or is it the hefty tax per gallon assessment imposed by state and federal authorities, where does that money go? Infrastructure?

I guess the base of the Marxists is too stupid to put two and two together, so they decide to put this out. Stopping the drilling and fracking, plus ending a major pipeline project won't keep fuel prices low. Plus asking OPEC to increase oil production after your country was energy independent won't register with the woke base. The rest of us know exactly why gas prices have almost doubled since Biteme has taken office. We don't need an expensive government investigation in which the results won't show the real reasons.

A competitive market?? If it's a competitive market you want, Joe, maybe you shouldn't have done everything in your power to take the US out of competition. You have reduced us once again to going hat in hand to OPEC. If you're looking for culprits, you need look no further than your own reflection and to whomever is pulling your strings.

Biden might as well have said, "Look, a squirrel." He shut down the Keystone Pipeline, and that's why we have high gas prices.

Yeah, the illegal activity is from the fedgov over-stepping their constitutional limits to interfere in the il and gas industry. Not to mention their unconstitutional interference in every other business within the Republic. (And no, the commerce clause was not put in the constitution so they could do that.)

That’s not what you’d expect in a competitive market, oh really. This mentally incapacitated moron is shutting down the gas industry and he confused about higher gas prices. How this p.o.s is not impeached is appalling. When is this country going to wake up. Point, he's stopping drilling and fracking in the name of climate control, while at the same time is begging OPEC to produce more oil. Total insanity.
