DENVER – Denver Police Chief Paul Pazen has had it. He says his officers are arresting a record number of armed felons, but the Denver County Court and Denver District Attorney’s Office are releasing them with low or no bonds.(Snip) He says a third of the people arrested for homicide last year were out on parole at the time and most of them were convicted felons. While felons are, by law, prohibited from having a gun, Pazen says his officers are arresting a record number of armed felons. They’ve picked up 415 so far this year compared to 280 on

Comments:

People have died because so many felons are set free to commit even more crimes.

Cincinnati is bleeding hard from all the low/no bond dictates from newly elected activist judges. Hamilton County (metro Cincy) violent crime is nearly on par with New Orleans or St. Louis. Judges set free the bangers and dealers to threaten & off witnesses with plenty of time left over to commit more violent crimes to go free on.

Let's say I'm a cabinet maker (I am). I produce a very nice piece of furniture and sell it. The buyer instead of taking it home burns it in my and driveway. If this happens repeatedly I might think of retiring. Let's say I'm a cop. I want to help people and maintain some order in my city. I make a felony arrest and take it to the prosecutor and he burns it in my driveway. Get my drift.

Record number of armed felons - so passing tighter gun control laws only applies to us law abiding citizens. Go ahead, pass all the laws you want, it isn't going to put a dent in crime until you start putting repeat law breakers behind bars. I am a native Coloradoan - liberals have wrecked this state.

You could solve a lot of these felons with an illegal gun stuff if they passed a law giving them a mandatory five years in prison for a first offense. No parole no 'reduced sentence'.....just five years in the state prison. It won't stop it all because many of those engaging in this gun violence have such low IQs that they can't really process what's going to happen to them. The rest, though, will be deterred. That's the main problem with that demographic...they can't seem to connect an illegal act to the consequences.

WASHINGTON — A nationwide eviction moratorium is set to expire Saturday after President Joe Biden and Democrats in Congress worked furiously but ultimately failed to align on a long-shot strategy to prevent millions of Americans from being forced from their homes during a COVID-19 surge. (Snip) The stunning outcome in Washington, as the White House and Congress each expected the other to act, exposed a rare divide between the president and his allies on Capitol Hill, and one that could have lasting impact as the nation’s renters face widespread evictions. One of the most obvious misconceptions about liberals today is that they personify tolerance. The Oxford English Dictionary defines tolerance as "the ability or willingness to tolerate something, in particular the existence of opinions or behavior that one does not necessarily agree with. A recent poll by the Survey Center on American Life at the American Enterprise Institute found that Democrats are twice as likely as Republicans to report ending a friendship over a political disagreement (20% versus 10%). Liberals are also "far more likely than conservatives are to say they are no longer friends with someone due to political differences" (28% versus 10%).
