Las Vegas airport could become

McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas could become Harry Reid International as soon as September, a Clark County official said today. The county could conduct a ceremony and put up a new sign this fall to mark the renaming of the airport for the former longtime U.S. senator from Nevada, said Commissioner Tick Segerblom, a leading advocate for the renaming. The County Commission unanimously voted in February to rename the county-owned and operated airport for Democrat Reid, a Searchlight native who spent more than 30 years in Washington, mostly as a senator but also as a U.S. representative. He was Senate majority leader from 2007 to 2015.

Comments:

Gee. I may have to fly into Reno and take the bus to Vegas. My stomach probably cannot take the thought of flying into Crook Harry Reid Airport.

A sign of the times. One of the wickedest politicians ever to hold office in America gets an honor in his own states, whose citizens, of all people, should know better.

The mayors and other politicians make these decisions, not the citizens. I have Republican friends living in Las Vegas. They can't stand Harry Reid. Of course all the casino and hotel workers, many of whom are legal and illegal aliens, are strongly encouraged by their unions to register and to vote for democrats every election.

Echoing #9 - We conservatives here in LV despise Dirty Harry, as does most of the state. Unfortunately, Clark County where we are, is the most populous in the state -- but is strongly blue. That Dem hegemony/majority rules over the rest of Nevada. It affects our Electoral Votes and most other political stuff. Very frustrating.

Nah. The disgraceful, one-eyed Harry Reid is a crooked as a spiral staircase. Pretty good punch your brother unleashed on you. Bow-flex malfunction, my butt. The airport ought to be named for Ben Siegel, someone more morally upright than Reid who actually did something creative, even if he sponged half of the project's money and the mafia didn't like it. When it comes to questioning the results of elections, there are two sets of rules that are unfairly applied to Democrats as opposed to everyone else in a country where unequal justice under the law has become the new normal. To prove that point, one need look to Rep. Vicente Gonzalez of Texas who is so terrified of his Republican opponent in the upcoming midterm elections that he is falsely claiming that Rep. Mayra Flores “stole” her House seat by winning a special election in June, stunning observers by pulling it off in a district that has traditionally gone for Democrats, a race seen as a bellwether for November.

U.S. healthcare is now a solid week into the CT contrast shortage of ’22, and common themes are emerging in adaptations at local hospitals and imaging centers. One is the wisdom of making up-or-down contrast and scanning decisions one patient at a time rather than as a blanket short-term policy. Another is the commonsense call to reserve inventory for patients most in need while avoiding use of the term rationing. A third might be the fingers-crossed expectation that the shortage will not drag on to where it becomes a crisis.

There is a great deal of manipulation and falsehood in media presentation of the 2020 election. These lies and false constructs generate a great deal of anxiety. That said, there are two specific approaches by the narrative engineers that deserve a strong reminder. The first purposeful approach media use to create and embed their false assumptions is a slight of hand that few notice, and it can create anxiety. In normal term-two election cycles the baseline for media analysis should be the incumbent electoral win in term one. T
