An historic house built in 1650 by President Abraham Lincoln’s great-grandfather was severely damaged by a teenage driver who crashed into it to avoid hitting a squirrel on a New England road. The 19-year-old woman’s car came to rest inside the 370-year-old house in Hingham, Mass., south of Boston, on the morning of July 15. First responders at the scene found a 2014 Audi Q7 lodged in the home’s living room. About half of the car crashed through the wall, according to the Hingham Police Department.

It sounds like they plan to repair the house but the cost may be much higher than expected. In the meantime dozens of squirrels and other rodents will probably make nests inside the structure.

Sure, a squirrel. The car didn't do nearly as much damage to the house as Honest Abe did to the Republic.

#3/10...The Real Lincoln by Thomas J. DiLorenzo. store.mises.org/Real-Lincoln-The-P172.aspx Dictator and slayer of liberty is more like it. Lincoln was not the godlike figure of myth and legend but an unusually cruel political operator who exploited the moment for personal gain... DiLorenzo shows that the high tariff pushed by Northern industries, at the expense of Southern agriculture, was the main cause of the sectional conflict. Further, Lincoln's goal in preventing Southern secession was the consolidation of federal power and the collection of revenue, not the elimination of slavery. DiLorenzo wrote a second Lincoln book, Lincoln Unmasked, that goes into more depth.

Focusing on a country's own people and not the world's population allows for more mutations of the virus to pop up and in a global world, a deadly variant in one place poses a threat to everywhere.
