Wow. This is bad. Meanwhile, here is western Colorado and to the opposite extreme, we haven't seen appreciable rainfall since late April. Oh, wait a minute. Come to think of it, we did get another haboob last week and as much as 100 drops of rain.

Horrific occurrence. We’ve been there, in The Plains, along the Missouri River. The cynic in me is wondering what environmental policies contributed to this disaster. If you dig deep enough, and are patient, those policies are eventually revealed. My prayers to all affected.

The weather varies. A lot. Some years there is less than average rain, some years there is more than average rain. Nothing that us puny humans are doing has any affect on the weather.

It is called weather. June 9/10, 1972 the Rapid.City Black Hills flood took the lives of almost 300. This was a so called “hundred years flood”. A few weeks later another significant flood occurred in the same area. This is what the weather does. The climate alarmists try to capitalize on every natural event.

Nature is cyclic. We are cool and wet in our portion of West Texas, meanwhile hot and dry in the West, and flooding and heavy rains in the Rhineland. The climate is always changing and if the solar cycle and the Milankovitch cycle holds true to form then people in the north will want to come south and not just because of political reasons. Also, my Mom's side of the family is from Westphalia. Praying all ends well and soon.

This is a terrible natural disaster and my prayers are with the people of Belgium and Germany. But I have already heard the leftists blaming climate change! Like these rivers have never flooded before! I was on a Rhine River cruise 20 years ago and most cities along the river have buildings with foot markers showing how high the flood waters have risen in past years.

Yep, that old "climate change" is at it again... when oh when will mankind finally appease the 'climate god' so things can go back to 'normal'... and what was 'normal' ever like?

A majority of likely voters lack confidence in Vice President Kamala Harris's readiness to be president, according to a new poll. A survey administered by Convention of States Action and the Trafalgar Group found 58.6% of respondents said they were "not confident at all" that Harris, who would succeed President Joe Biden if he were to vacate office, is ready to be president "based on her performance as vice president." Five percent of those surveyed said they were "not very confident" in Harris. Only 36.4% of the more than 1,000 people surveyed said they were "very confident," "somewhat confident," or

The 2020 polls were off by an "unusual magnitude," missing the national results by the biggest margin in 40 years and erring in state surveys by the greatest amount in at least 20 years, according to a new study released Monday by the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR). "There was a systematic error that was found in terms of the overstatement for Democratic support across the board," said Vanderbilt University political scientist Josh Clinton, chair of the 19-member task force. House Democrats are trying to use a massive climate and infrastructure bill to change how Americans get around — by breaking states’ decades-old fondness for building highways. Legislation the House passed this month is the biggest advance yet in Democrats' efforts to bake climate policies into transportation, addressing the largest single contributor to the United States’ greenhouse gas output. It would also represent an historic shift away from the roads-first approach to federal transportation spending that has reigned since Dwight Eisenhower created the Interstate Highway System. Three Democratic members of the Texas House of Representatives have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to the Texas House Democratic Caucus. The three lawmakers are among House Democrats who fled to Washington, D.C., earlier this week to stave off GOP priority voting bills during the special legislative session. The three members who tested positive all have been fully vaccinated, which helps protect against severe illness. On Friday night, one member tested positive for the coronavirus and immediately alerted colleagues, who, in addition to staff members, took rapid tests. On Saturday morning, two additional members tested positive after taking rapid

The basket tipped and one of the passengers fell out but wasn’t hurt, police said. Boland then became tangled in gear affixed to the balloon and got stuck underneath the basket as it went back up.
