2020 polls badly understated support for GOP

The 2020 polls were off by an "unusual magnitude," missing the national results by the biggest margin in 40 years and erring in state surveys by the greatest amount in at least 20 years, according to a new study released Monday by the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR). "There was a systematic error that was found in terms of the overstatement for Democratic support across the board," said Vanderbilt University political scientist Josh Clinton, chair of the 19-member task force. "It didn't matter what type of poll you were doing, whether you're interviewing by phone or internet or

Comments:

Our media apparently isn't too bright. Every single poll overstated Democrat support. Somehow Biden magically 'wins' but Dems underperform in other races across the board.

duh... because everyone except these eggheads know that polls aren't some kind of reflection of public sentiment and opinion, they are a fabricated fiction designed to support a "narrative" that reflects the actual goals of those who control the grants and funding that employs the organizations that take polls.

Only an academic could be so willfully obtuse. The polls are no longer about accurately measuring public opinion, like every other institution their main objective is to support The Narrative of Democrats good, Orange Man Bad.

Sampling and weighting...they ALWAYS sample more Dems than R's...and usually more "Independents" than R's at the same time. Rather than weighting to match the most recent election totals. Interesting that in a story about "Polling Error" they say "Biden vote projection was only off by about One Point.." Then by the very numbers in the same sentence show that it was 1.6points...an error of over 50%. Buuut..."math is Racist" anyway...sooo. Nearly ALL polls and election reporting stories are "Horse Race" coverage, showing Dems ahead to garner "Bet on the Sure thing" voter responses when the votes are finally cast. Notice though that there were NO..."Amazing!! Come from behind in the Home stretch Victory!!!" stories about Bidens "win". Even though he was behind in ALL vote counts election day, election Night...and into the wee'est of wee hours, because that would conflict with their "He was ALWAYS ahead" reporting of the prior months.

Maybe it's because the Democrats weren't smart enough to steal down ballot elections (with the possible exceptions of the Senate seats in Arizona and Georgia). And my theory is that they thought they had the Presidential election in the bag until about 11 or so on election night when "Plan B" was put into effect. Stop counting in key states and truck in the extra ballots, only marked for Sleepy Creepy Crooked Uncle Joe and Horizontal Harris.

As Seth Keshel identified in the article below the country registrations in multiple key states showed enormous gains for the GOP and reductions in Democrat numbers. The majority of national pollsters simply recycled numbers of Dem voters based on prior registration levels which resulted in their inflated totals for Biden. Analysis by scientific data analysts on a county by county basis confirms that Biden could not possibly have gotten the numbers he did with only legal ballots from real voters. This is also why audits are needed in all 50 states to detect the blatant rigging that is suspected even in states Trump won but by reduced margins that couldn't be reversed using the midnight mail-in ballot drops that were used in Detroit, Philly, Atlanta, and other swing states.

Well, duh! The polls were (and still are) crap because the pollsters oversample registered Democrats then engage in statistical flim-flammery to make the oversampling even more lopsided.

President Biden has been more freewheeling with his remarks in the last few weeks, leading to slip-ups the White House has had to clean up. The most recent example came Friday, when Biden accused Facebook of “killing people” because of the misinformation spread on the social media network about coronavirus vaccines. It was a striking statement that triggered a furious response from Facebook. And on Monday, it became clear Biden had gone further and been more biting than he intended. Less than three days after his initial remarks, the president reversed course, saying Facebook “isn’t killing people.” “My hope is

There are several signs in the market for newly built homes that point to a potential slowdown for the nation’s homebuilders. Data released Tuesday added to the evidence that builders are pulling back. Single family housing starts continued to rise in June, many of those for homes already sold. But building permits, an indicator of future construction, fell more than expected last month to the lowest point since August and were about 100,000 units below the six-month average, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. “The single family market in particular desperately needs more new homes, especially on the lower end

House Democrats are trying to use a massive climate and infrastructure bill to change how Americans get around — by breaking states’ decades-old fondness for building highways. Legislation the House passed this month is the biggest advance yet in Democrats' efforts to bake climate policies into transportation, addressing the largest single contributor to the United States’ greenhouse gas output. It would also represent an historic shift away from the roads-first approach to federal transportation spending that has reigned since Dwight Eisenhower created the Interstate Highway System. But the bill is riling up opposition from two potential allies of the Democrats'
