Kennebec County, Maine, Republicans joined their colleagues from Aroostook and Piscataquis Counties in censuring Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) for her vote to convict former President Donald Trump during his second impeachment trial in February. The Kennebec GOP voted overwhelmingly Tuesday evening to formally censure Collins by a vote of 49-18. Helen Tutwiler, chairwoman of the Kennebec County Republican Committee, told News Center Maine Wednesday the vote to censure Collins is “important in re-engaging local voters who, by and large, are very hurt and frustrated with Senator Collins for not supporting even moderate Republican positions.”

Joe Biden is still paying contractors on the US southern border. But they’re not getting paid to finish the beautiful Trump border wall. They’re getting paid to sit and watch the steel beams to make sure no one steals them. [Snip] Shortly after taking office, President Biden signed an executive order temporarily halting any further progress on the border wall so individual contracts could be evaluated. With the exception of “make-safe” activities at the worksites, construction projects immediately came to a standstill [Snip]The end of the 60-day pause does not, however, signal an automatic restart of construction.

Reeling from massive cutbacks in volunteers during the COVID-19 pandemic, and grappling with high construction costs, Habitat for Humanity leaders would be the first to admit they’re struggling. (Snip) What could have been the knockout blow was the spike in construction costs. Lumber prices, according to the National Association of Home Builders, increased by more than 300% since April 2020. Demand for new homes, as well as demand for supplies for renovation projects and other factors, also kept costs high, experts say. Prices have come down in recent weeks, but they are still significantly higher than before the pandemic. Morgan

Justice Samuel Alito has drawn attention for his fiery criticism of Supreme Court rulings, with some court watchers especially struck by the degree of barely concealed hostility he directed at fellow conservative justices.Alito voiced opposition last week as the court, now with six conservative justices and three liberals, handed a narrow win to a Catholic charity and spared ObamaCare from a GOP challenge. The two decisions signaled the court may not be moving as far or as fast to the right as some expected.

A Marion County judge says the state must continue its participation in the CARES Act unemployment benefits.
In May, Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb announced the state would stop providing federal COVID-19 unemployment benefits, citing the number of businesses looking for new employees.
A judge ruled, in response to a lawsuit was filed by Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis on June 14, the benefits must continue until the court makes a final decision.

Vice President Kamala Harris was the recipient of sharp criticism Friday following her border press conference in El Paso, Texas, in which she blamed the Trump administration for the migrant crisis taking place there. "First of all, what is happening here in El Paso really is, in many ways, highlights many of the facets on the issue of immigration. What pending calamity was Freidman referring to? Donald Trump being reelected in 2024, which he admitted has him “terrified.” And while he pontificated on fabricated fears, he also touched on a very real concern in the article, “Want to Get Trump Re-elected? Dismantle the Police.”

Austin Mayor Steve Adler and Council Member Greg Casar defunded the city’s police in the name of racial justice and equity.
Did they anticipate that their decision would result in a skyrocketing murder rate that disproportionately impacts the city’s minorities?
That’s what’s happening.
Austin suffered 47 homicides in all of 2020, which was the worst year for homicides in a decade. 2021, the year in which defunding the police kicked in, will surely surpass 2020’s total.
Two fatal shootings in Givens Park on the city’s east side this week push the 2021 homicide total to 41 so far.

The US government has said it has no explanation for dozens of unidentified flying objects seen by military pilots.
A Pentagon report released on Friday says of 144 reports made about the phenomena since 2004, all but one remain unexplained.
It does not rule out the possibility that the objects are extraterrestrial.
Congress demanded the report after the US military reported numerous instance of objects seen moving erratically in the sky.
The interim report released on Friday said most of the 144 reported cases of the "unidentified aerial phenomena", referred to as UAP, came in the last two years, after the US Navy put in place a standardised reporting mechanism.

I’m enjoying the drama today over what Biden and Pelosi said about not passing the Senate’s bipartisan infrastructure bill unless the other component, the “human infrastructure” bill, also passes via reconciliation.
Senate Republicans seem very mad about that ultimatum. Emphasis on “seem.”
Because two things are clear. One: There was always going to be a reconciliation component to this. Joe Manchin has never given the GOP reason to believe he’d walk away from the reconciliation bill if they compromised with him on the roads-and-bridges part of infrastructure. This was a two-step process and Republicans negotiated in that knowledge.

WASHINGTON — The Justice Department is suing Georgia over the state's voting laws, a person familiar with the matter said Friday.
The announcement will be made later Friday by Attorney General Merrick Garland. It comes two weeks after Garland said the Justice Department would scrutinize a wave of new laws in Republican-controlled states that tighten voting rules. He pledged to take action if prosecutors found unlawful activity.
The person was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly before the official announcement and spoke on condition of anonymity.
The move also comes as pressure grows on the Biden administration to respond to GOP-backed laws being pushed

Yesterday, Joe Biden held one of his so-called press conferences. With the aid of 3 x 5 cards, he speaks, sort of, in response to pre-approved questions from pre-approved reporters.
In reply to their softball questions, he leaned into the microphone and whispered Freddy Krueger-like, all pasty white, wrinkled and weird, that “consequential” money would be flowing to people who vote for Democrats.
The bizarre scene dubbed “Creepy Joe” immediately trended on Twitter. “Doctor” Jill must have 911 on one speed dial number and the guys with butterfly nets on another.
The reason for Biden’s creepy breathlessness was that he and bipartisan senate negotiators had reached a one trillion-dollar “infrastructure” deal.

Cops have nabbed the suspect who knocked an Asian man unconscious near a Lower East Side subway station. Javel James, 42, was arrested in Brooklyn on Thursday and charged with assaulting Teoh Ming as the victim approached the East Broadway station near Rutgers St. on March 2. “This is something I can’t understand,” Ming, 56, a Malaysian immigrant of Chinese descent, told the Daily News. “He hit me three times. And the rest I don’t remember anything after that.(Snip) Police released video of the suspect a day later jumping a turnstile while wearing a cheery sweater depicting a snowfall.

Joe Biden has told small businesses struggling to find staff to pay their workers more - using a creepy whisper to get his point across at a press conference on Thursday. The President gave his solution for hiring companies as he took questions about the a $953 billion infrastructure deal reached by bipartisan senators.
'Pay them more', he said while leaning into the microphone and looking out at the crowd. But his generous $300-a-week unemployment benefits are encouraging Americans not to find jobs amid fears that labor shortages will cause greater inflation.

Something religiously astonishing is taking place in Iran, where an Islamist government has ruled since 1979: Christianity is flourishing. The implications are potentially profound.
Consider some testimonials: David Yeghnazar of Elam Ministries stated in 2018 that "Iranians have become the most open people to the gospel." The Christian Broadcast Network found, also in 2018, that "Christianity is growing faster in the Islamic Republic of Iran than in any other country." Shay Khatiri of Johns Hopkins University wrote last year about Iran that "Islam is the fastest shrinking religion there, while Christianity is growing the fastest."
This trend results from the extreme form of Shi'ite Islam imposed by the theocratic regime.

An on-duty patrol officer in Florida who was inspecting a “suspicious vehicle” Wednesday night was rushed to the hospital after the driver shot him in the head, a video of the incident shows.
The shooting prompted a county-wide lockdown and the Daytona Beach Police Department is offering a $100,000 reward “for anyone who can help authorities locate the man who shot one of our officers in the head,” a statement from the agency reads.
Authorities have identified the suspect as Othal Wallace, a 29-year-old black male, who was behind the wheels of a gray 2016 Honda HRV with California tag 7TNX532 at the time of the inspection and shooting.

The blasé response to the revelation that Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse belonged to a private “whites only” club and even owned a stake in it, should come as no surprise. In the Democrats’ race-obsessed world, only Republicans are racist.
Whitehouse confused the issue last week when asked about his membership in Bailey’s Beach Club and its alleged all-white membership, saying: “I think the people who are running the place are still working on that and I’m sorry it hasn’t happened yet.”

The mainstream media, global elitists, and prominent Democrat politicians have blood on their hands for the avoidable deaths of countless Americans. It’s hard to look at the effects of the disastrous policies from the past year and a half and conclude otherwise. In their mutually beneficial efforts to oust Donald Trump from office and foist a neo-feudal system upon the American middle class, an abundance of science was ignored in favor of advancing a preferred authoritarian agenda. How much damage was wrought will likely never be fully known or quantified, although there are ways to put some figures into perspective.

President Biden raised eyebrows Thursday in North Carolina with a bizarre statement in which he claimed that “Latinx” people are less likely to get vaccinated against the coronavirus because “they’re worried that they’ll be vaccinated and deported.”Biden traveled to Raleigh as part of a a nationwide “month of action” campaign meant to boost vaccination rates before the July 4 holiday. However, the president’s exhortation for people to get the shot was overshadowed by his strange aside, in which he also confused the Tuskegee Airmen — the heroic African American pilots of World War II — with the victims of

Kamala Harris has been in politics for 18 years, yet still can't quite figure out how to keep staff.
The departure of two top travel advance-women, just as she's heading for the border in a hastily announced trip to get there before President Trump does, suggests that things are getting very bad indeed.
According to a softly cushioned report in the New York Times:
Two top aides who oversee travel for Vice President Kamala Harris are departing, leaving the vice president with her critical support staff in flux as she seeks to ramp up travel ahead of big vaccine and voting rights pushes she is planning through July.

Nancy Pelosi spoke today about “the root causes” of the January 6 Capitol riot: “the white supremacy, the anti-Semitism, the Islamophobia, all the rest of it that was so evident when you see a sweatshirt on one of the people saying, ‘Camp Auschwitz.’” She repeated the common and yet completely unsubstantiated claim that the Capitol incident constituted an “insurrection,” and once again claimed that Trump “incited” the “insurrection,” in flagrant disregard for the fact that Trump told the demonstrators to remain peaceful. Her list of the three “root causes” of this sham “insurrection” were, in effect, a list of those that she and the Biden Justice Department intend

The big headline Thursday was that Biden and the Senate reached a deal on infrastructure. (snip) Joe Biden and Kamala Harris proved that their biggest campaign lie might have been their promise to return the White House to “normal.” (snip) The video that’s making the rounds cuts off the question asked of Biden, which was apparently an ordinary one regarding how much money went to COVID relief. What matters is Biden’s response: With his eyes bugging out, Biden leaned into the microphone and, in the voice of an obscene phone caller gloating about his organ size, announced that he had gotten $1.9 trillion COVID relief.

Like Obama and Kamala, Ijeoma built a marketable identity by identifying with a father who abandoned her. But the author of such racist texts as So You Want to Talk About Race and Mediocre: The Dangerous Legacy of White Male America takes it even further by identifying as Nigerian-American. The Nigerian part is very hypothetical as she was born and raised in America. [SNIP]

George Floyd’s death one year ago caused a national level of rioting and vandalism and even deaths. It also put something called “excited delirium” in the spotlight. George Parry at The American Spectator, Andrea Widburg at American Thinker, and Jack Cashill (at both venues) all have written insightfully about the political, scientific, and legal issues related to the death of Mr. Floyd and the prosecution of Officer Chauvin. The bottom line, if one seriously considers the medical evidence, is that Derek Chauvin did not murder George Floyd.
I have done a video demonstration with two male subjects that shows that there is no way that Officer Chauvin killed Mr. Floyd

On Friday, a showdown between two of the largest agricultural landowners in the United States—the Church of Latter-Day Saints and Bill Gates’ wealth management firm—came to a head when the Mormons beat out the mogul on a bid for 12,000 acres of Eastern Washington farmland that was once at the center of a $244 million “ghost cattle” fraud locals have dubbed “Cattlegate.”
The land in question lies on the mighty Columbia River, the fourth-largest river in the United States and one central to the region’s culture and economy for thousands of years: fishing, transportation, and power generation are essential uses to this day.

When Joe Biden was sworn in as America’s 46th president, he laid his hand on an ancient Douay-Rheims family Bible, a translation made by Catholics in France, where they’d taken refuge from the Reformation across the Channel. In doing so, the new president reminded some 40 million viewers of a truth he may now prefer to forget: namely, that the Catholic Church is inherently political, and faith in her teachings is never a merely private matter.
For decades, American Catholic politicians insisted the opposite was the case. For generations of Democrats, especially, the faith meant dated jokes about stern nuns and sentimentality about Notre Dame football.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi threw cold water on the notion that the House of Representatives would take up the Senate’s bipartisan infrastructure deal Thursday — unless the Senate also passed the Democrats’ reconciliation bill.
Pelosi (D-Calif.) made the comments during her weekly news conference after being asked about the compromise package, which President Biden made a surprise endorsement of on Thursday afternoon.
“Let me be really clear on this,” she began, “We will not take up a bill in the House until the Senate passes the bipartisan bill and a reconciliation bill. If there is no bipartisan bill, then we’ll just go when the Senate passes a reconciliation bill.

I beg to differ. The fact that it took this White House three months – – and a threatened visit by Donald Trump to the border — to make such an easy and obvious move is the joke. Sending Kamala Harris to a relatively quiet part of the border for this box-checking exercise might be the first smart thing Joe Biden and his team have done.
House Democrat Henry Cuellar isn’t having any of it, however: “I’m sure her planners told her that if you’re going to go down to the border, go to something that’s safer to go to, that is, politically safer,”

Joe Biden has had a lot of confusion and weirdness over the past two days.
As we previously reported, Biden got confused and was slurring his words while giving his gun remarks yesterday. He also essentially threatened that Americans couldn’t challenge the government because the government had F-15s and nuclear weapons.
Earlier today, he got really weird, started leaning into the reporters and whispering at them too. But he wasn’t done yet.
Biden went over the slide when he was trying to encourage people to get vaccinated.
Biden was describing why he thought some African Americans were reluctant to get vaccinated because they were remembering when the “Tuskegee Airmen”

A decade ago, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) under President Barack Obama targeted tea party organizations for extra scrutiny and even denial of tax-exempt status. Democrats and the IRS seem determined to be even more brazen under Joe Biden.
As PJ Media’s Mark Tapscott reported last week, the IRS denied a 501(c)(3) tax exemption to the Texas-based group Christians Engaged because its Bible-based Christian teachings “are typically affiliated with the [Republican] party and candidates.”
This denial is absurd on many levels. First Liberty Institute appealed the rejection, highlighting three key errors: there is no requirement that tax-exempt organizations be neutral on public policy issues

In testimony before the House Wednesday, Army Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was asked about the military’s new emphasis on politics and critical race theory.
Milley’s testimony is telling in many ways. He didn’t deny the military is pushing CRT and its ideas down the ranks. How could he, with so many whistleblowers calling his military out on it?
The nation’s top general leads in this segment by suggesting that he’s merely studying critical race theory and wokeness to understand them as a military leader should study ideas to understand their nature and whether they pose a threat or not. That would be fine, even commendable

It’s difficult to get played by a senile old man whose brain has the consistency of pudding, but somehow, Republicans managed that feat today. Failure theater is back, and it’s reaching new heights.
As RedState reported earlier, Biden announced an agreement on a bipartisan infrastructure deal, complete with a grinning Mitt Romney and Lisa Murkowski standing beside him. Following that dog and pony show, the president then proceeded to demonstrate the finer points of existing with cognitive decline. Regardless, according to the Republicans on the negotiating team, this was supposed to be a great victory and show of unity.
Of course, then reality smacked them in the face. Biden, within an hour

The Biden administration is planning to move interpreters and other Afghans who have worked for the U.S., along with their families, to a safe location amid growing fears of a Taliban takeover after the U.S. military withdrawal, a U.S. official and a senior U.S. administration official confirmed to ABC News Thursday.
The destination is not yet clear, nor is the scale of the project. But the plan is to move a group of these Afghans to a safe location as they wait for their U.S. visa applications to be processed, the officials said.
