ST. PAUL, Minn. - Coaches with Capital City Youth Bandits say they went in protector mode when they heard at least 20 gunshots during the team’s baseball practice in St. Paul on May 10. "We were pushing kids to the ground and had coaches laying on top of the kids," said Coach Tedric London, co-founder of the team. "I was kind of shook up a bit and I know the kid was for sure." It’s frustrating for the coaches, who say they no longer feel comfortable playing in the fields near Stinson Street. "It feels like it's a continuous thing,"

Comments:

St Paul is working hard to match next-door Minneapolis in crime. Now the kids are terrified to even play ball in their own playground.

What is about liberals that they are so willing to sacrifice the good for evil and still be sure of their own reasonableness? I grew up in Edina, MN, surrounded by wealthy liberals who longed for more ethnic diversity. They talked about black people as though they were children and treated them like they were pets. Now they have exactly what they asked for in diversity and a whole lot more and now, from the safety of their suburban paradises, sacrifice the safety of little children for the sake of their own moral vanity. They won’t insist on lawfulness in The Cities (Mpls-St. Paul) but it will come eventually. Unfortunately, it won’t come in the form of their precious Minnesota Nice but will be fear and hate-based. When the bodies are counted they will be happy to blame someone, anyone, else

That black coach should shout to the rooftops: “We need MORE thug control, not defunding! “Gangs are killing our youth”! But I don’t hear him saying THAT. Do you?

New York Attorney General Letitia James introduced a measure Friday that would tighten the rules governing the use of force by law enforcement. It would lower what her office calls the “exceedingly high standard for prosecuting police officers” who wrongly take excessive or lethal actions. The centerpiece of the legislation would change the use-of-force law “from one of simple necessity to one of absolute last resort, mandating that police officers only use force after all other alternatives have been exhausted,” James’ office said in a press release. James at a press conference Friday afternoon invoked the memories of George Floyd

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison is taking over the prosecutor of Kim Potter, the former Brooklyn Center police officer who fatally shot Daunte Wright during a traffic stop last month. Potter has been charged with second-degree manslaughter in Wright's April 11 death. The case was previously being handled by the Hennepin County Attorney's Office, which asked Ellison to take it on instead, CBS Minnesota reported. "I did not seek this prosecution and do not accept it lightly," Ellison told CBS Minnesota. "I have had, and continue to have, confidence in how both County Attorney Orput and County Attorney Freeman have

Nearly 1,000 Apple employees have signed an internal letter to CEO Tim Cook urging the company to issue a public statement in support of the Palestinian people, The Verge reported Thursday. "We are frustrated and disappointed because once more, many of those in positions of power and influence - who boldly stand for human rights in so many other just causes - either choose to remain silent or release ineffectually neutral 'both sides' statements with regards to the Palestinian situation," wrote the letter's authors, who are members of the Apple Muslim Association, according to The Verge. London - The International Energy Agency, which was founded by rich industrial nations after oil shocks in the 1970s to promote secure and affordable energy supplies, says the world needs to stop drilling for oil and gas right now to prevent a climate catastrophe. (Snip) To prevent that, the IEA says these milestones must be hit: Immediate stop to new gas and oil projects. No new sales of fossil fuel boilers starting in 2025. Electric vehicles make up more than 60% of car sales by 2030. No sales of new internal combustion engine passenger cars by 2035. The global electricity sector

WASHINGTON -- U.S. home construction fell a surprisingly sharp 9.5% in April and economists attributed that partially to builders who delayed projects because of a surge in lumber prices and other supply constraints. The April decline left construction at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.57 million units, the Commerce Department said Tuesday. That was down from a rate of 1.73 million units in March, which had been the best showing since homes were constructed at a rate of 1.74 million units in July 2006 at the peak of that decade's housing boom. Applications for building permits, considered a sign of

LONDON — DarkSide, the hacker group behind the recent Colonial Pipeline ransomware attack, received a total of $90 million in bitcoin ransom payments before shutting down last week, according to new research. Colonial Pipeline was hit with a devastating cyberattack earlier this month that forced the company to shut down approximately 5,500 miles of pipeline in the United States, crippling gas delivery systems in Southeastern states. The FBI blamed the attack on DarkSide, a cybercriminal gang believed to be based in Eastern Europe, and Colonial reportedly paid a $5 million ransom to the group. DarkSide operates what’s known as a

Democrats have been flogging the image of Kamala Harris for more than six months, trying to show Americans why she should be popular, and the public isn’t buying it.The efforts and the expectations of success by Democrats say a lot about the party and their myopic view of the voters, which has cost them dearly during the last three national elections. A party that tells most voters they’re “racist” and says those same ordinary people must be cleansed of their “systemic racism” and delusions of “white supremacy” shouldn’t have to wonder why people don’t like them very much. But the Democrats keep doubling down — as they did with Harris.

Oregon has gone from a liberal hell hole to 1930s Germany overnight. The Oregon Health Authority is now requiring businesses and religious institutions to enforce mask mandates by forcing people to show proof of vaccination. The CDC last week updated its mask guidance and said fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear masks indoors. In order to prevent the unvaccinated from walking around unmasked, Oregon health officials are now creating a caste system by marking the unvaxxed lepers. “Businesses, employers and faith institutions now have the option to adjust their masking guidance to allow fully vaccinated individuals to no longer wear a mask in their establishments,” OHA’s website said.

A critical race studies and ethnic studies professor at the University of Colorado-Boulder says Americans wondering why Black citizens commit anti-Asian hate crimes have an answer: “White supremacy.” The educational watchdog Campus Reform spotlighted the commentary of Jennifer Ho, which preceded President Biden’s newly signed legislation aimed at combatting hate crimes against Asian Americans. “Anti-Asian racism has the same source as anti-Black racism: White supremacy,” Ms. Ho wrote for The Conversation. “So when a Black person attacks an Asian person, the encounter is fueled perhaps by racism, but very specifically by White supremacy. White supremacy does not require a White person to perpetuate it.”

It seems like a crazy urban legend: In China, drivers who have injured pedestrians will sometimes then try to kill them. And yet not only is it true, but it’s also fairly common; security cameras have regularly captured drivers driving back and forth on top of victims to make sure that they are dead. The Chinese language even has an adage for the phenomenon: “It is better to hit to kill than to hit and injure.” In contrast in our country, BLM regularly blocks roads and in most situations, the drivers are the ones that took the hit.

That’s the hottest of hot takes regarding the virus. Dare I say, it may be worse than what Anthony Fauci has said about the vaccine and mask-wearing. It could rival that, maybe. The fact is that millions of jobs were lost, mental health issues spiked, our children weren’t learning, people did die, and the lockdowns didn’t do anything to stem that.

Dishonesty and hypocrisy surrounding Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s (D) secret “personal” trip to Florida are threatening the one-time rising star’s political future. Like other Democrat governors, Whitmer opted to impose harsh restrictions in an attempt to deal with the coronavirus in 2020. After a spike in cases towards the end of the year, she reimposed many orders through her Department of Health and Human Services after her executive orders were ruled unconstitutional in October. In early April 2021, as coronavirus variants were growing around the country, Whitmer warned Michiganders not to go to Florida for spring break.
