Hollywood actresses have been speaking up about how they really feel about performing on-screen sex and nudity.
Spoiler alert: They hate it.
Actress Salma Hayek recently opened up to Dax Shepard, host of the Armchair Expert Podcast, about her experience filming the iconic sex scene in her first film Desperado: “I started to sob and kept saying, ‘I don’t know that I can do it.’” She remembers holding onto the towel wrapped around her. “I would take it off for two seconds and start crying again.”
And Hayek is not the only one. Dozens of actresses have gone on record detailing traumatic experiences they had while filming sex scenes.

I am a big fan of Jane Austen and love the stories of the regency period in England. When Netflix had The Bridgertons on, I started to watch but as soon as the sex scenes came on, I quit. I don't need that and I am sure the actresses felt the same. So I put on my DVD of Persuasion.

It makes sense that something that is so intimate isn’t for wholesale voyeuristic viewing and producing. To believe something is beautiful doesn’t mean it has to be viewed by others. I applaud Salma Hayek’s sensitivity.

Apologies for the second post. Now I’m mad after reading the whole article. Apologies for that too.
FTA “the female body has been monetized and commoditized” “an object to be filmed …”
Isn’t this all just a version of an immature I’ll show you mine if … Can’t we all act like mature people instead of naive children? There is something very telling that all of these women share in their innately knowing that what the men are requesting in the name of art is wrong. When one has to deaden ones natural feelings with drugs and alcohol then it’s just plain wrong.
I’m with poster number one. I’ll watch Persuasion (with Ciarin Hinds) and other Jane Austen movies.

So, they enter into a contract to do a film which specifies no nudity. They get to the set, and the director and producer pressure them into doing these scenes. Instead of abusing alcohol and drugs, sue them for breach of contract. Geez, Ricky Gervais was right. Hollywood is full of a bunch of doped up, lying hypocrites.

If its not in the contract, refuse to do it. Too bad if film makers have to lose money and start filming over again with a willing actress? Hollywood types have no backbone and they expect us to listen to their political stance and take them seriously?

No sympathy at all for these perpetual victim no talent actresses who also spout out hate for our country and us, the deplorables, on a regular basis. Wonder if it ever enters their pea brains that the studios who force them to do these sex scenes are all members of the communist death democrat party that they so rabidly support. Pardon the term but screw them and their whining. They made their Hollywood bed and now they can sleep in it. Sold their souls for so-called fame and fortune.

Harvey Weinstein really likes these scenes though. The entire legacy of the free love don't get hung up man its only sex 1960's has caused a huge amount of damage.

I don't believe it. Most actresses and wanna be's walk around half naked all the time. They take selfies and put them on the internet for all to see. They post pictures of themselves breastfeeding . They wear see through clothes on the stage and to the store. They have helped created this culture of sex. I have seen her with her clothes half on on the internet so don't tell me she doesn't like it.

But sadly, greed and pride wins out every time. These women can say 'no' only after they have already 'made it' and there being no shortage of young beautiful women willing to do ANYTHING to become a star, saying 'no' is tantamount to announcing one's retirement. Nothing will change until we ALL stop buying the perversion of what Hollywood sells.

It is simple they need to organize and all refuse to do them. There is no need for nude or explicit sex scenes. What is left to the imagination is always more appealing, so ladies, go with that.

Jim Caviezel refused to do sex scenes with JLo in a movie called Angel Eyes. He is what is known as a moral man. She was shocked. Now tell me what position does a feminist take on this? We were told at the beginning of this movement that women needed to be judged by their achievements not by their bodies and yet Hollywood does nothing but strip on a daily basis to make their points so to speak. They can't seem to get their busts big enough or their faces smooth enough. Pathetic. to say the least.
They are narcissistic hypocrites all. Salma you should have just said NO!

I'm not going to sit here and give advice to some whiny ding a ling about nude scenes in Hollywood movies. I don't watch them or spend my money to attend. I'm not a star gazer and have never watched stupid 'red carpets' with these dumb creatures male or female. I could care less about what Hollywood does it's like Disney I wrote them off decades ago. I wish Harvey Weinstein was still there though he put the casting couch on the map.

These are A-List actresses. Do they not know the word "No" and words "Hell No"? And if they got fired for refusing, hire a "Saul Goodman" lawyer and sue the Directors, make it known who are the "Porn" directors and producers. Nope they sold their souls for the bucks. They have themselves to blame.

Cameron Diaz started out as a porn actress. She was very young when this happened. None of her movies since has her doing any sex scenes. Also, I wonder how many of these actresses ran into Harvey Winstein when starting out, and the sex scenes bring back bad memories. Sex scenes don't really bring that much to the plot of a movie for the most part. Movies were made for decades with only the suggestion of what was going to happen next without actually showing anything. I believe the movie North by Northwest by Alfred Hitchcock ended with the couple on the bed on the train, and the next shot was a train entering a tunnel. No one with any intelligence needed that scene explained.

They get in this business partly because they're more attractive than the average person. Sex appeal sells and Hollywood knows it, so please spare me the crocodile tears about the hardship of making in one movie what most of us won't bank in our lifetimes. They must've known this was going to be asked of them sooner or later in the pursuit of their 'craft,' so please shut up.

I have no problem with so-called actresses who choose to perform naked. But as a Person of No Color straight female, I'd like to be able to see an equal number of male actors do the same. Looking at nude females just doesn't do anything for me.

Those of you saying, "Boo hoo, these complaining actresses did it for the fame and fortune and therefore have no place to complain," are not wrong, but you miss the point. In a way the author of this piece misses the point as well. The things which these actresses find it necessary to do to get through these scenes tell us that it damages them. However, what is not as obvious is the damage done to those who view such scenes. Human sexuality affects us emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Gratifying our sexual desires by viewing sexually explicit material involving someone other than our spouse damages us in all three areas.

Revelation 17:
3 Then the angel carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness. There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns. 4 The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries. 5 The name written on her forehead was a mystery:
Babylon the great
the mother of prostitutes
and of the abominations of the earth.
Recall some years ago, Kenneth Anger wrote a book entitled, "Hollywood Babylon." If he only new the entire truth of it. Now we do. Abstain from the fruits of the Whore of Babylon/Hollywood. Starve the beast.

Hollywierd has totally wrecked their business. At this point, I don't have any idea who most of the "Hollywierd stars" are when there is some article or news item about them. I have no idea who this Hayek person even is.
And I don't have much interest to see any of their movies, since they make it very clear that they hate me and this country and everything that I hold dear. And I return the favor by avoiding 99% of their movies.
So ......asking me for sympathy? Nah, that bucket ran dry long ago.

Fine, then don't do the scenes. No one is holding a gun to your heads. And those of us in the audience should not reward the movies that have gratuitous sex scenes.
Are these the same actresses who barely cover themselves on the red carpet for the Academy/Emmy/Tony/Grammy awards? Many of them dress like "women of ill repute" whenever they are in a public place with cameras flashing.
My wife and I have been watching PureFlix. Great stories without sex, nudity, violence or filthy language.

A friend recently recommended to me the series "The Outlander". Thought it would be right up my alley --- historical fiction mixed with time travel and romance. Sat down for some delightful binge watching. OMG! This thing is pornography. At first I blushed through the sex scenes, then I started fast-forwarding through them, finally couldn't deal with it any more and quit the series. Full frontal nudity (male and female), brutal rapes (both heterosexual and homosexual) all graphically presented. Why would actors consent to this? And the fans seem to love it and the producers are proud of it.

So, then, how IS it that Jessica Alba, Hillary Duff, Emma Watson, Jessica Simpson, Christina Hendricks, Catherine Zeta-Jones, et al manage to get by without doing such scenes? As for Jennifer Lawrence, glad she opted to get drunk and do the scene for "Red Sparrow" - a very entertaining movie.

Just as I said on the other thread...I REFUSE to watch any of today's movies. Every third word is an expletive (usually the F-bomb) and now nude sex scenes are in everything. If they made a remake of E.T. they would probably have a nude sex scene with E.T. spewing the F-bomb over and over. It all makes me sick!
