LA Times Op-Ed: The Evidence Is Clear...The
Lockdowns Didn't Trash the Economy

Whoever wrote this is on bath salts. Is this for real? I mean I know media bubbles are dense, but this is something else. This is not even grounded in reality, folks Apparently, the COVID lockdowns didn’t trash the economy and it saved lives. Both are demonstrably false. That’s the hottest of hot takes regarding the virus. Dare I say, it may be worse than what Anthony Fauci has said about the vaccine and mask-wearing. It could rival that, maybe. The fact is that millions of jobs were lost, mental health issues spiked, our children weren’t learning, people did die, and the lockdowns didn’t do anything to stem that.

Comments:

Whoever wrote that for the LAT is even more deranged than Dementia Joe!!

Like a parent whose child just fell and got hurt. 'Its okay, its okay.' The need to reassure outweighs the need to tell the truth. But worse, the need to lie to everyone that it wasn't as bad as people have experienced (not imagined) is not just a malevolent perversion of the truth but necessary if our masters are to stay in power. A lie repeated loudly and often............

DeSantis proved that, all things considered. all states would have been much better off staying open and asking sick people to isolate. We would not have lost a school year in an already dumbed-down population of children and small businesses would not have been lost by the thousands. The virus was nothing but a head and chest cold.

A 'business writer' passing categorical empirical medical judgment is always good for a laugh. Business writers pretend to be concerned with 'fundamentals' in stock prices and other arcane economic matters but they are usually the same vapid groupthinkers as the ones on the front page carrying the Democrats' ideological can.

This is awesome news! I can't wait to share with my neighbors on either side. Both have been severely underemployed since covid destroyed their livelihoods. But i am sure all is fine and those stimulus payments kept them from getting behind on mortgage. I just hope I get a chance to share this good news before their homes are repossessed.

Tell that to the 60 million people that lost their jobs. Tell that to the thousands of business owners that had to close their doors permanently. There are people out there that will tell you what you see, what to think, what to believe, and what to do, and all the while lie through their teeth while doing it. What's really sad is half the people out there have accepted it without question.

I agree with Vespa. I'd forgotten all about the bath salts craze a few years back. Then there were the Tide pods. Even taking into consideration it was the LA Times saying it, that is one stupid assumption. A dear friend and Calif. native* is looking for a place to move to in the central south. I always thought it would take the San Andreas opening up to get him out of the once golden state. (*This guy is way to the right of me and Trump!)

The lockdowns destroyed many private businesses, and many will not be back. This is what the left wanted, and could have done no other way. It is easy for the left to mandate their policies through a small number of major corporations. On the positive side, many people have been forced to do things they should have done before.

This is what they always do. When it's middle America that suffers they claim it's not happening. But one government worker loses a job and it's panic city DC. The left does not care about the people that lost their jobs to H1-Bs. Or to illegal immigrants. And now they don't care about the loss of jobs to the tens of millions because of the senseless lockdowns. They only care about their rich Wall Street friends maximizing their profits.

Afternoon there, neighbor! There's a new disease in town, and I wanted you to know about it. It gives the chills and sweats and headaches and fevers and diarrhea and a cough and it can kill you. Not a cold or a flu, but a new thing. It can kill most of us, it turns out. Very dangerous. We're going to have to lock you down, in fact. For your well-being. Two weeks is all we ask to flatten this curve. What's a curve? Funny you ask. It's when too many people get put into the hospital. We just want to slow the numbers. Whittle them down a bit.

Barack Obama was a 'parasite' on the Democrat party who sucked it dry for his reelection and left it saddled with debt, a new book claims. The former President used the party structure as a 'host' for his 2012 campaign for a second term then treated it like a 'husk' to be discarded with $2.4million in debt. Obama's aloof demeanor and professorial detachment masked the reality that he was full of 'self-assured self-regard.' He oversaw the 'pilfering of talent, money, resources, and purpose' away from the Democratic National Committee to his own reelection team.

Well, not the Vice-President herself directly, but the victim groups in the Democrat Party fighting over claiming her as their own and her by proxy through the left-wing media. Harris qualifies for a special medal for being both a victim and a perp in the progressive game of victimization. Politico ran an unintentionally hilarious and telling piece that offered a peek into how the modern Democrat Party works.

Oregon has gone from a liberal hell hole to 1930s Germany overnight. The Oregon Health Authority is now requiring businesses and religious institutions to enforce mask mandates by forcing people to show proof of vaccination. The CDC last week updated its mask guidance and said fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear masks indoors. In order to prevent the unvaccinated from walking around unmasked, Oregon health officials are now creating a caste system by marking the unvaxxed lepers. “Businesses, employers and faith institutions now have the option to adjust their masking guidance to allow fully vaccinated individuals to no longer wear a mask in their establishments,” OHA’s website said.

The audit in Arizona may upend the 2020 Presidential election but it could reshape the US Senate as well. Let’s not forget, the audit in Arizona covers both the Presidential race and the Senate race. In November, Democrat Kelly beat Republican McSally by 78,806 votes statewide. In Maricopa County the total difference between candidates is about the same amount with the Democrat winning by 80,183 votes: Therefore, if the audit shows that McSally won Maricopa County, then she would win the state as well.

A critical race studies and ethnic studies professor at the University of Colorado-Boulder says Americans wondering why Black citizens commit anti-Asian hate crimes have an answer: “White supremacy.” The educational watchdog Campus Reform spotlighted the commentary of Jennifer Ho, which preceded President Biden’s newly signed legislation aimed at combatting hate crimes against Asian Americans. “Anti-Asian racism has the same source as anti-Black racism: White supremacy,” Ms. Ho wrote for The Conversation. “So when a Black person attacks an Asian person, the encounter is fueled perhaps by racism, but very specifically by White supremacy. White supremacy does not require a White person to perpetuate it.”
