New York Attorney General Letitia James introduced a measure Friday that would tighten the rules governing the use of force by law enforcement. It would lower what her office calls the “exceedingly high standard for prosecuting police officers” who wrongly take excessive or lethal actions. The centerpiece of the legislation would change the use-of-force law “from one of simple necessity to one of absolute last resort, mandating that police officers only use force after all other alternatives have been exhausted,” James’ office said in a press release. James at a press conference Friday afternoon invoked the memories of George Floyd

Any cop in one of these lie-beral hell-hole anti-cop states or cities needs to leave now!!!
The lie-berals don't want cops. Let them experience exactly what that is like. These ruling elite lie-berals don't think it will effect them in their gated communities with their armed guards. Let them discover just how quickly that won't work out how they expect!!!

And the crime rate will increase, and police officer retirements will increase if this passes. Happy to live far away from NY.

On second thoughts, I’ll just go home for a nice cup of tea and have Sarge call a social worker.

She's fairly robust. Give her a nightstick, put her on the streets and see how it goes.

I don't think cops are going to want their lives to be an absolute last resort. Especially when a suspect has made a decision to attack a cop. No one should agree to be a cop any longer. The first order of business in doing so is to retain a defense attorney. The city and the the AG are as ignorant at the maximum. Do they really think the cops are not going to demand they be provided with professional liability insurance. That is going to cost a huge bundle. The cops have not thought of it yet, but there are advisors that are going to let them know.

Try to find a sane human being who would ever put on a badge. You'll find plenty of insane ones.

Cops already use force only after trying to de escalate and exhausting other means. All the new law does is give the persecutors more ammo to convict police involved in confrontations with POC who resist arrest.

NYC is now a H*ll hole of violence. Let the AG herself go out on patrol and deal with criminals. Hah. It is easy to tell others what THEY should do, as long as you have no skin in the game.

One can only hope that the NY AG has to face, the hard way, the consequences of her own stupidity and that when she inevitably needs to call the police, she finds they've all gone to Florida.

Why would any human being want to live in a place like new york? With a governor like cuomo in charge, obviously, fewer than 50% are actually human.
