Texas didn’t see a COVID surge after opening
and ending its mask mandate. Here’s why

It’s been over a month since Gov. Greg Abbott lifted the state’s mask mandate and ended business restrictions, but at least for now, Texas has not become the epicenter of a coronavirus surge as some predicted. After Abbott announced COVID-19 restrictions would end on March 10, President Joe Biden called the decision a “big mistake” and that it reflected “Neanderthal thinking.” A slew of other political figures thought the decision was premature and a way to distract people from the February winter storm and power outage that killed at least 111 Texans. “It is now time to open Texas 100%,”

The narrative engineers on Raleigh's NBC affiliate no longer provide the COVID case counts, so you know something is up. Well, down. And that is the number of new cases, hospitalizations and deaths attributed to The Vah-riss. But hey, keep that useless mask on!

In my neck of the woods, western Colorado, the county health department dropped the mask mandate last Friday. But, most locals ditched their masks long ago. Even the Kroger grocery store gave up and removed the one-way walking signs from the aisle floors after Christmas. It all comes down to using common sense. Feel sick, stay home. Feel well, wash hands and keep washing hands.

I read, didn't see any reason why. However since Biden is wrong about everything maybe his saying “big mistake” and“ Neanderthal thinking” is the reason why.

People here are largely free to choose their level of discomfort and precautions. Many/most remain sheep which is fine by me. If you want to stay home, wear a mask, and order delivery of everything - go for it. As long as businesses respect the right to make personal decisions and avoid nazi imposition of safety 'orders' we will get through this. Whether Texas will avoid another surge will have nothing to do with anything but the bug itself.

Local stores are not requiring, or not asking to put a mask on. Chain stores still require - I tell manager/employees to please pass on to Mgt that following the science, a vaccinated person is not a risk, so should not need to wear a mask - want them to pass on to Mgt that 'vaccinated people don't want to wear a mask, since Science says so'. The BS of 'Variants' and 'even immunized can catch China Virus' - are HEARSAY - show me cases where this has occured.

Here in New Hampshire the Governor removed the mask mandate last Wednesday but as far as I can tell all of the local businesses are still requiring them. When did the residents of the "Live free or die" state become such sheeple?

Cervantes..”a mix of”? Well, mask wearing really paid of in the fall and winter months, didn’t it. S/off. Growing immunity and sun/good weather is paying off, just like every flu season. You need a specialized degree to see that? The biggest payoff will come when false positives are not included...in my county they appear to account for 90% of reported cases...and if the vaccine really works they will soon account for 99% of reported cases...while we will still have to wear face diapers.

What happened to the "super spreader" event of the Texas Rangers game?? We have been told time and time again that something was a "super spreader" even, and yet we haven't seen evidence of that. Texas had a primary runoff election in July with everyone masked, wearing face coverings, finger cots, etc. etc. etc. but it was not a "super spreader" event..... This pandemic created all sorts of end arounds to "mask" tyranny in the guise of allowing Constitutionally UNALLOWED things which affected the outcome of the 2020 elections. Hundreds upon hundreds of eyewitness statements of irregularies were not allowed to be investigated, and now we are rapidly moving hellbent into corrupt government over reach.

Most of this article only makes sense if you buy the idea that masks work. That masks reduce covid spread. ALL of the data from countries that imposed mask mandates show that the idea is wrong. This article is pointless.

SAN FRANCISCO – Police officers responding to an auto burglary in progress here last week found the suspect sitting in the back of a Ford van with a machete in hand. Over the next three hours, a growing law enforcement group that included a crisis negotiation team and tactical operations experts circled the suspect. Just days before President Biden kicks off a climate summit with world leaders, the United Nations World Meteorological Organization released a report Monday warning that “time is fast running out” to keep global temperatures in check. Titled “State of the Global Climate 2020,” the report finds that concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere continued to climb in 2020, despite lockdowns imposed to slow the spread of COVID-19. Last year, the report notes, was the third warmest on record, worsening the melting of glaciers and sea ice, the acidification of the world’s oceans and the severity of wildfires and hurricanes.
