Walter Mondale has died at the age of 93. A former Vice President and U.S. Senator for Minnesota, his death from natural causes was confirmed by family on Monday evening. (Snip) He served as the 42nd Vice President of the United States under Jimmy Carter between 1977 and 1981, and ran as the Democratic nominee in the 1984 presidential election against Ronald Reagan, with Mondale only winning Minnesota and the District of Columbia in a famous Republican landslide. Before that, he was a U.S. Senator for Minnesota between 1964 and 1976. He also ran against as a late replacement following

I'm shocked that an Associated Press article about Mondale's death began with this sentence: "Former Vice President Walter Mondale, a liberal icon who lost the most lopsided presidential election after bluntly telling voters to expect a tax increase if he won, has died."

Walter Mondull with running mate Geraldine "Equal Rights Amendment" Ferraro were a disaster couple... only matched by Mike Dukaka. Leftists always overreach. Of course compared to now it's tame.

I remember waking up the morning after that election, turning on the tube (no flat screens back then), and seeing the map. Don't recall the color but it was solid Republican from coast to coast and beyond. Hard to imagine, given today's atmosphere. Fritz was born forty years too early. Had he run in 2024, Dominion just might have landed it for him.

Name one positive accomplishment achieved by Mondale that comes to mind in his way too long life in government. Ever notice how all that free, first class taxpayer provided healthcare to the members of Congress which the rest of us poor, short lived peons are denied is the reason why all of these commie clown traitors like Mondale live so long. Want further proof just look at the aged still moving cadavers clinging to life and power in Congress like Pelosi, McConnell, Hoyer, Feinstein, etc. Either that or their pact with Satan includes a guaranteed long life.

I'm guessing most people won't be aware of the '84 campaign. I wonder If he ever found that beef he was looking for?

He is the only person to ever lose a general election in all fifty states. He lost 49 states in the 1984 Presidential election. He lost Minnesota in the 2002 US Senate election.

My Irish grandmother told me one shouldn’t speak ill of the dead. So, I suppose I should just say that available evidence suggests Walter Mondale was heterosexual, and let it go at that.

Due to his being a Minnesota liberal, neither I nor the majority of America agreed with what Mondale believed or promoted politically, which is why he was soundly defeated in 1984. However, he was a veteran and he did seem to be genuine as a person, very unlike the current crop of mind-addled, America-hating, lunatic, bomb throwing, completely misguided Democrats. He showed respect in his debates with Reagan, even after being blasted with one of the greatest debate quips of all time. It's a huge contrast from the inherent nastiness of Obama and Biden at their debates, and today's nastiness of the Democrat party as a whole.
Thankfully, the voters in 1984 didn't place him in a political position to do any more damage than was done from 1977-1981 when he was VP.

Mondale was a fool - - but also a very decent man. He deserves respect for that. R.I.P.
