One day before his 6-year-old started at Broadview-Thomson Elementary School in Seattle, Ryle Goodrich was on the phone with the police department. He was walking near a sprawling homeless encampment on the edge of school grounds when he spotted a sword in one of the tents. (Snip) Despite multiple pleas from anxious parents such as Goodrich and Greens to remove the camp, the district has said no. They argue that sweeping the 50 or so tents of homeless people would send the wrong message to children and believe keeping them up would provide an up-close, in-person lesson in compassion. In

Comments:

The city has every excuse in the book for allowing a homeless encampment at a school. Only a few parents are fighting back.

Actually, I'm less disgusted with the insane, virtue-signaling leftists than I am with the parents who aren't fighting back. Not just there in Seattle Cuckcoo-Land but throughout the country. What the hell is wrong with all the cowering "normals"? Got to desperately hang on to the remaining shreds of assets, property, and creature comforts by avoiding any/all possible confrontation? Here's a clue: you're going to lose all of it anyway by letting the crazies take over without a fight. Or aren't you noticing how much more emboldened they're becoming?

“Seattle parents” are becoming consistent: They now have the same regard for the unborn as they do for the born. The more basic question is, what are “parents” still doing in Seattle?

I would think the resulting decrease in property values would be enough to get at least a few people upset.

For the sake of the children learning compassion. How about when they observe drug use, a mentally ill person act out, rape, or murder? Will that be justified or enough to act and keep the children safe in all ways?

"Goodrich was not one of those parents. He, like several others, has openly questioned "the judgment of those in charge of keeping your children safe."" Parents - YOU are in charge of your children's safety. YOU. FIGHT BACK.

These places have become unlivable. The solution is pretty obvious and simple. Sadly they will bring their destructive leftist views with them to some new place, and proceed to wreck that place, too.

50 or so tents sounds like a reasonably small fire and written instructions towards OUT OF TOWN. But this is of course Seattle.

"Compassion" won't account for much when children are assaulted, injured, or worse. Are any parents upset enough to run for the School Board?

The family of a 16-year-old black girl fatally shot this week by a white police officer in Columbus, Ohio, claims the teen was acting in self-defense when law enforcement officials arrived on the scene. They claim Ma'Khia Bryant was armed with a knife because she was being attacked. However, based on newly released footage captured by a neighbor’s security camera, we know at least the claim she was just protecting herself when the police showed up is not true. The new video, which supplements footage captured by a responding police officer’s body camera, shows the teenage girl instigating an altercation

SAN FRANCISCO – Police officers responding to an auto burglary in progress here last week found the suspect sitting in the back of a Ford van with a machete in hand. Over the next three hours, a growing law enforcement group that included a crisis negotiation team and tactical operations experts circled the suspect. After Abbott announced COVID-19 restrictions would end on March 10, President Joe Biden called the decision a “big mistake” and that it reflected “Neanderthal thinking.” A slew of other political figures thought the decision was premature and a way to distract people from the February winter storm and power outage that killed at least 111 Texans. “It is now time to open Texas 100%,”
