Dangerous ‘Safe Storage’ Bill Progresses through Colorado General Assembly

Original Article

A bill that mandates individuals to store away their firearms was passed in the Colorado House earlier this month. HB21-1106 was passed by a 40-25 vote after heated debate on March 8, when Democrats rebuffed all Republican attempts to change the measure. The bill was ostensibly marketed as a “safe storage” measure to keep unauthorized individuals from accessing firearms.

A gun grabbers wet dream...Australia has this and a friend of mine 'down under' told me just the other week the Police had come to his home and checked. They also had the registration number of his firearms. This is wrong on so many levels.. The Tree of Liberty is getting thirsty...

How about a “safe storage” law for the security guards of politicians. If there is a threat, they could run to their locker and get a gun while the politician waits with the perpetrator.

It appears it was a straight party line vote. And as the Dems hold such a significant margin, one can imagine this will stand in increasingly Blue Colorado.

No law has ever stopped a criminal from getting a gun and killing someone. They know how to do it. These politicians are hurting law abiding citizens and preventing them from protecting their families. Shame on the Democrat/Communists once again!!!!!

Giving up precious seconds to criminals is pure lunacy. I would put triple locks on all doors and windows so the police would have to use as much time as necessary getting in while I made my guns "safe."

I have noticed that no legislature, Congress, or politician does anything of any help to the American people, instead taking up as priorities only things ruinous to the American people. We have to find a better way to choose our leaders. We are getting personnel from the bottom of the barrel. We need to select from from the top of the barrel.

Appreciate the suggestion politicians. I think I'll store mine slightly behind my left hip, slightly above my right ankle, with the Derringers in a few pockets. Just in case I actually need a gun to defend myself if the knives don't work.

Today I saw two ridiculous highway billboards in Colorado not far from the Wyoming border. The signs depicted a child reaching into what looks like a dresser drawer. The caption said, something like, have you thought about the dangers of unsupervised guns? The sponsor of these signs has a dispute with Webster. Living things —- children, prisoners, employees and animals require supervision. Inanimate objects don’t require supervision because cars, guns, and houses cannot act on their own. You secure, or store those objects. Of course, the liberals who financed these signs forgive their underclass constituents for irresponsible child supervision and make the matter all about guns.

I propose we require an FBI background check before anyone can propose laws or write articles online or in newspapers - or go to Church or peacefully assemble or lobby or speak out freely. Why not? We do that for the 2nd Amendment. Why not do the same for the First? Sorry if that gives someone ideas. I'm sure there are some wetting their lips to do this.

My gun is not in "storage." It is sitting in an easily accessible place where I can reach it quickly if ever needed. Why any sane person would want to lock away their personal protection is unthinkable to me. Now, if you have curious small children, that is a different situation, but the solution is not to lock the firearm away where it is useless. Any one in my family is "authorized" if someone threatens us. Liberals are truly insane, and it's really sad that they feel they have to project their irrational fears on to everyone else.

The U.S. House of Representatives passed universal background check gun control Thursday, criminalizing private gun sales conducted apart from an FBI background check. The legislation, H.R. 8, sponsored by Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA), passed by a vote of 227 to 203. H.R. 8 would expand retail point-of-sale background checks so as to cover private points-of-sale. This will criminalize an individual who sells a 5-shot revolver to a lifelong neighbor, unless that neighbor first undergoes a National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) check, conducted by the FBI.

Gov. DeSantis Introduces ‘Anti-Mob’ Legislation To Allow Floridians To Shoot Rioters And Looters 20 replies

Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has proposed an “anti-mob” bill that would allow residents to shoot rioters and looters who target businesses following nationwide unrest. The law would expand the state’s self-defense law, which currently forbids “the use of force in defense of property,” by increasing what constitutes a “forcible felony,” according to the Miami Herald. DeSantis seeks to make looting or “interruption or impairment” of a business such a felony, thereby justifying deadly force to prevent it, the local outlet reported.

Five of them are in the city’s eleventh aldermanic ward, on the city’s far Southwest Side. Correction:

Here in Middle America, there are small towns where going a couple of miles per hour over the speed limit will get you stopped by the town’s lone police officer. These “speed traps” are dotted throughout the region as, many times, a significant portion of a town’s revenue comes from issuing these tickets. Now, the entire city of Chicago will become one, gigantic speed trap. Mayor Lori Lightfoot is going to rig traffic cameras to automatically issue tickets for residents going just 6 MPH over the posted speed limit.  Correction*
