Two weeks ago, when the thermometer plunged below 20 and indoor dining was still off-limits in the city, intrepid New Yorkers continued to cling to vestiges of their social lives. On East 60th street, patrons at the once buzzy Le Bilboquet were huddled in outdoor cubbies, wearing hats and scarves while nibbling on Cajun chicken and sipping Bordeaux. One block up, 10 tables at clubby La Goulue struggled to share four heaters while diners gripped bowls of onion soup for extra warmth. But just a short flight away — in tony Palm Beach, Fla., where La Goulue recently opened an outpost

I hope that these escapees from New York realize that the reason New York is such a hell-hole is the democrats. Conversely, the refreshing air of freedom in Florida depends on keeping democrats out of office in that state.

I guess where we live in a border state southwest an occasional New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania license plate is seen but they move on. There's nothing here anymore. The illegals won't stop here because there's nothing to do for them. Poverty and ugly people with plenty of Mexican citizens no jobs and the oil field is dead. A blue state that died on the vine in one year. City Slickers wouldn't survive in this third world state. I pity Florida I wouldn't want New Yorkers or Joisey transplants in my state either.

DeSantis just barely nosed out Gillum for Governor here. Gillum, married, and father of several kids was found partying with 2 other men, one wearing only a g-string in a Miami Beach hotel in the wee hours of the morning. FL barely dodged a bullet last time.

Start education NOW for all transplants into the Florida. Continually, remind them that their politics created the problems that they're running from. Remind them of an Einsteins quote: Repeating the same thing over and over and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.

It's rather fitting the President Trump left NY for Florida and Cuomo said he didn't want him there. Great job, Cuomo. There's a lot of tax revenue you're going to lose out on - in addition to the most recent ones leaving.

Whether one calls it a crisis or a challenge, the U.S.-Mexico border has become a man-made disaster hand-crafted by President Joe Biden. Candidate Biden promised illegal aliens red-carpet treatment, amnesty, and citizenship. Message: Received. The Customs and Border Protection’s encounters with single adults on the southern frontier climbed 157 percent in January 2021 versus January 2020. CBP confronted 100,441 illegals last month, up 97 percent from February 2020, and the highest level of such run-ins in 15 Februaries, according to Reuters. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell threatened on Tuesday to turn the Senate into a "100-car pileup" and block "even the most basic aspects" of its business if Democrats get rid of the legislative filibuster as progressives are asking. McConnell, R-Ky., made the comments in a floor speech on Tuesday that was similar to others he's previously made during times of increased chatter about getting rid of the filibuster. "So let me say this very clearly for all 99 of my colleagues. Nobody serving in this chamber can even begin to imagine what a completely scorched-earth Senate would look like," McConnell said.

The Alaska Republican Party vows to "recruit" a challenger to Sen. Lisa Murkowski if she runs for reelection next year, but don't expect the Republican National Committee (RNC) or the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) to join the effort against the state's senior senator. National party chair Ronna McDaniel emphasized to Fox News in January that "the RNC stays neutral in primaries for a very good reason. Because somebody has to be there to pick up the pieces of difficult primaries and help bring the party back together."

The Washington Post made a massive correction Monday to a January report about a phone call between then-President Donald Trump and Georgia elections investigator Frances Watson, admitting it wrongly attributed multiple quotes to Trump based on an anonymous source. The Post initially reported Trump had told an official working in Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger's office to "find the fraud" in the state, which he lost narrowly to Joe Biden, and that she would be a "national hero" if she did. However, a newly emerged recording of the Dec. 23 call found he didn't use those words.

Mexico continues to struggle with the sharply rising number of migrants turned away at the U.S. southern border, with many claiming they were "promised" by President Biden that they could enter the country. The increased focus on the border situation has brought journalists to Texas, where the problem is most severe: Migrant camps litter the border, with camps of dozens or hundreds of people who are either waiting to enter the U.S. or were just turned back. New York Times reporters witnessed a number of incidents where migrants were turned away from the border. Most were in tears, with some saying, "Biden promised us!" as they returned to Mexico.

The Biden administration is facing what it admits is an "overwhelming" number of migrants at the southern border while scrambling to construct new facilities to hold child migrants -- but it is doggedly refusing to describe the situation as a "crisis." Why haven’t they been ended yet? Counter to most of the media pontifications about this ongoing federal investigation, I’m convinced they are quite real.
