President Joe Biden joked Wednesday at the White House he wished his Irish ancestors had stayed in Ireland. The president commented as he recalled his visits to his ancestral homeland at a St. Patrick’s Day in a video conference with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin.“I joked at the time, after I left, I wondered why the hell we left in the first place; it’s beautiful,” he said. With a bunch of clovers in his pocket, Biden acknowledged the celebrations this year were virtual due to the coronavirus pandemic and accepted a bowl of clovers from the prime minister.Biden also noted he followed the tradition of dying the White House fountain green

They left because of the potato famine and their future was to starve to death. So, joey wishes his family had stayed in Ireland and died. What a guy. What an idiot.

Joe, you know why working conditions were so lousy in the US during the burgeoning industrial revolution? It's because of the boatloads of starving people arriving every day from places like Ireland. Supply and demand Joe. Thanks for your efforts to repeat that with your open border policy.

Our current 'president' is a world-class fool... predict it will be a source of wonderment and humor that he ever served as POTUS in history books. It certainly says something about our government and Supreme Court that this outrage has occurred.
I do not think it reflects badly on those who voted for Donald J. Trump, but until the vote-counting machines and mail-in voting are removed, our great nation is headed for the communist toilet.

Slo Joe has to show his anti-American credentials don'tcha know. A surprising number of Democrats hate the country they live in. If we sent Slo Joe back to Ireland, he would be 'returned to sender'. They wouldn't want him either.

Ireland is special.
It is a country that couldn't fed its people, a country with a remarkably high rate of depression, an island country that didn't develop a fisheries industry, a country full of religious strife almost unique in hatred of the other religion.
And for a time, the Catholic Church, which handles the sainthood business, said St. Patrick never existed.

# 20, have a little stroll thru history and you will find out why Ireland couldn't feed it self. They had a failure of a single crop, and continued to export food during the time called The Famine. The food exported belonged to the landlords, and the tenants who worked the land were surviving on that single crop - the potato.

No doubt Biden’s ancestors would disagree with him about them leaving Ireland, as from what Biden has said about his ancestor’s former place of residence in Ireland indicated by Biden to be Country Mayo in the West of Ireland, which at the time his ancestors immigrated to the USA would have in fact being among the poorest places in Ireland. Common sense would tell you that under such circumstances that Biden’s ancestors would have been pleased as punch when they arrived in America.

#23 -- Kamala Harris has Irish ancestors on her father's side. Either her grandmother or great-grandmother's name was Iris Finnigan. Biden's mother's was also named Finnegan. I've always wondered why no one has ever made that observation. We always get the standard genealogy stories about how the new President is a 17th cousin to Henry VIII or some such, but nothing on the possible genealogical connection between Biden and Harris. Slight differences in the spelling of names are not unusual within family trees.
