Cumulus Media's Westwood One announced on Wednesday that Dan Bongino will be launching a new radio show during the time slot left vacant by conservative talk radio icon Rush Limbaugh. The program, "The Dan Bongino Show," will broadcast 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. ET in markets nationwide on May 24, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, and Washington, DC, according to a press release. "The Dan Bongino Show will tackle the hot political issues, debunking both liberal and Republican establishment rhetoric," the press release described. "As a former Secret Service agent and NYPD officer, Bongino is uniquely positioned to provide commentary and analysis..."

Who better to take over Rush's spot than Bongino? Love this guy. He tells it like it is with a touch of Rush and a touch of Levine. I'm betting that his numbers will outdo anybody who goes against him. Good luck to you Mr "B" !!!!!

What an honor for Mr. Bongino. I wish him nothing but the best and agree with #1. Big shoes to fill. One thing that annoys me about most talk show hosts is that they just don’t get to the point quick enough for me. Maybe I have developed ADD in my old age, but it drives me crazy. They tease you about something and it takes them too long to get to the point. Sorry to air my annoyances in public. Maybe I am not the only one who feels this way. I cannot watch or listen to Hannity for this reason. I am definitely getting cranky in my old age.

I'm caught flat-footed, but with #1 I wish him well. I also agree with #4's complaint, that too many hosts stretch constantly. Rush certainly could do that, and would routinely tease an upcoming topic through a commercial or news break. But he also had a rare gift that reminds me of Howard Cosell. (How's that for oldster cred?) He could fill any segment of time available with something interesting, make it look entirely effortless, and he always left the impression he had more to say than time allowed, rifling his "stack of stuff" if need be. That's a big reason the listener stuck around. Contrast that with hosts who plead for an audience, "Stick around for. . . ."

There are many conservative pundits. Very few of those put in half the prep time that Rush did. Very very few can blend humor with outrage (Mark Steyn is one). None have a rapport with a loyal audience numbering in the millions. Only Rush could do what he did. They might as well fill the time slot with a cooking show.

I've heard Dan's Podcasts and he is very good but he won't be in every one of the 610 markets. He's no Rush ... but who is? There was no one after Michelangelo quite like him and certainly no one could take Mozart's place ... but who wants that? Beethoven wasn't too shabby and neither was Rembrandt. The show will be different and probably reaching excellent ... especially if Mark Steyn gets to fill in! Let's wish him well by rallying around him.

I'm a little confused. I was sure I was listening to Hannity last week as he interviewed Bongino about his Hodgkin Lymphoma diagnosis? Bongino had just received some test/lab/procedure results that on the surface didn't sound like the best news...but maybe there's a positive update that I'm not aware of? Holding all good thoughts.

I hope he works out...the replacement program is getting tough to listen to; the fill-in hosts feel like they have to slobber their love for Rush before going to the clips and it's becoming annoying. Maybe el Rushbo could negotiate the loan of a little of G-d's talent to Dan to ensure a success.

I was hoping the EIB network would continue. It is a legacy of truth from the archives of Rush’s 32 plus years. Truth never changes, nor does human nature. It’s why the clips from Rush are still relevant. We’ll see what comes on the radio at 11:00 here.

Rush Limbaugh, let's face it,is irreplaceable. Bongino is very good doing podcasts where you can actually watch him and appreciate his facial expressions and other nuances. I don't know if strictly radio is going to do it for him. I enjoy listening to the Buck Sexton (former CIA guy) radio show. It will sort itself out over time.

#4, I agree. Even in op-eds, I feel like they take forever to get to the point. Too much background (most of with which I'm already familiar), then their thought process to reach their conclusion, and finally the point. Too many words to say too little. I try skipping to the last paragraph sometimes, but that doesn't always work.

What resume did Rush have when he started? None, What Rush had was wisdom and a profound knowledge of the left sprinkled in with the famous truth detector. Dan can tell a good story, but he takes so long to get to a point that it completely tires me out. This is going to be like watching an all star college player trying to keep up with the speed of the NFL. Wish him luck. He is going to need it. Who was it that followed Bear Bryant?

For me, the only one who I would listen to now is Mark Steyn. The shows on the EIB so far with the Rush legacy emphasis is very hard to listen to and so I don't anymore. I think Steyn is the only guy who can make issues very clear and use wet-your-pants humor in doing so, like Rush. I like a lot of them except Hannity. I stopped listening to Sean for a few years. Dan is really good and I sincerely wish him well, not that my wish will ever make a flip. It's been a good run for talk radio and only because of Rush, really. Someone will have to take up the mantle and again or it'll fizzle out. For me, only Steyn could do it starting right now. Once the Marxists bring back the fairness doctrine and enact net neutrality, it will all be over for anything conservative online, social media, radio or TV. The only thing the Marxists have ignored regarding freedom of expression is HAM radio. Once they enact a hate speech bill, that will be gone as well. So far though, HAM can't be hacked because radio waves can't be hacked, just jammed. Jamming would adversely affect law enforcement, emergency organizations, and aviation, so only hate speech laws could stop it.

I'm a big fan of Dan Bongino and will be listening. He has great presence and I have no doubt that he will do very well. Not only is he smart and articulate, but also, he's a fighter with NYPD street experience who knows the ways NYC. Plus, he was Secret Service in the White House under Obama. Come on, who else has that experience? He comes with hands on knowledge more than anyone else in the media. I hope he changes the format from podcast to fit radio. Best Wishes to you Dan.

I like Dan a lot and wish him well, but have my doubts. I subscribe to his podcast, and have also noticed that he spends more time telling us to "watch this video," telling us why we have to see this video and talking to his producer about the video than he does playing the video. Plus, he feels sorry for Biden. I don't.

I was wish Rush when he signed on in August of 1988, and he was a phenomenon who mellowed out a lot after he married Kathryn. He also matured from the "shock jock" style of host to one who was highly talented in making the complex understandable, and in his final year of broadcasting was as open about the games being played in DC. I cut back on listening to him during the 2016 primary campaign and the early years of the Trump campaign because it appeared he was rationalizing against virturaly any attack or criticism of the President, and I started listening to Andrew Wilkow because he was breaking things down while Rush seemed to be coasting along not talking about much but Mr. Trump. Now we find ourselves without his presence and the demonrat socialists have pulled out every dirty trick in the book that he told us about. Most of the gutless republicans will not speak against this. For a superb tribute to Rush, listen to hour 2 of the Mark Levin podcast where he talks about how Rush gave him advice when one of Levin's dogs was nearing the point of being put down. For anyone who loves their pets or aging parents and how to deal with the inevitable coming to each of us, it is profound information about the REAL Rush, not the early "shock jock" and irreverant Rush.

Dan Bongino will do himself a lot of good if he makes it clear that no one can replace Rush Limbaugh and he will not be trying. He will be placed in that time slot, that's it. Having said that I wish him the best of luck. I was very dissappointed yesterday when Mark Levin let his ego get in the way of better judgement. He just had to tell us all that he was offered the 12-3 time slot and then went on to say why he just couldn't possibly change times. That was rude. He did congratulate Dan and said he would do a great job.

I wish Bongino well. He was the best fill in host for Mark Levin, although it took awhile for me to warm up to him. The best fill in for Rush was Mark Steyn. I like him for his humorous take on issues and also for his ability to expose the irrational and dangerous aspects of our federal government, including institutions like the FBI and Justice Department. His take on the kneeling for the national anthem was the best I heard, including that of Rush’s.

We all know that Dan or anyone else is not Rush. The man is dead and he served Conservatives and this country greatly for thirty plus years. He wasn't going to live forever. I never listened to Rush for his full three hours as I was usually at work and sometimes I just lost interest - especially when he started talking about sports. Anyway, I wish Dan the best of luck and look forward to having his voice in another format fighting on our side.

#1 sums up our feelings best. The truth is, there are very, very few people who could replace Rush. Just diction alone set him apart. He never used those verbal hooks or fill-ins such as "you know" or "know what I mean" or "I'm serious, folks" etc. And he could hold our attention for three hours without guests, and masterfully used news clips and the like. We who listened to Rush and lived through all his ordeals and triumphs FEEL like we have lost a brother, and no-one "replaces" a dear brother. The anniversary of the death of my own beloved brother and friend is in two weeks. So while I ponder the loss of my brother and our radio brother Rush, my sadness over the assault on our great Republic is made all the more painful because the voices of two sources of wisdom for me are silenced As for what the Limbaugh enterprise is doing, I have to say they are doing a pretty brilliant job weaving in glittering gems of Rush's wit and wisdom and political insights and humor with current events. But I would have loved to have heard Rush's response to Biden's little pep talk the other night, and more... so much more. Alas, here we are. Thankful for a great thirty years. Rest in peace, Rush. See you on the other side!

I wish Dan Bongino well in this time slot. No one can ever replace Rush. They will be different, but never, ever Rush. Rush had a way of making me at least, feel okay about the most disgusting things Dems and the Left and media were doing. His voice, his demeanor, his cadence all signaled knowledge about a situation, common sense about possible outcomes and reassurance that things, ultimately would work out because this is the greatest country that world has ever known. No one on the scene today has that kind of presence. Dan is good and I've listened to his podcasts and I hope he grows into the job. We will see. But, I'm already finding things to do between the hours of noon and three. Without Rush everyday life is just not the same.

I admit I'm getting weary of the near constant eulogizing of Rush on the EIB. I loved Rush and really miss him, but I wish they would reduce the number of clips, have the "guides" take more calls and do more news and analysis and settle on a permanent host. Was hoping Mark Steyn but would accept Todd Herman or Ken Matthews.

A federal appeals court judge issued an extraordinary opinion Friday attacking partisan bias in the news media, lamenting the treatment of conservatives in American society and calling for the Supreme Court to overturn a landmark legal precedent that protects news outlets from lawsuits over reports about public figures. D.C. Circuit Senior Judge Laurence Silberman’s diatribe, contained in his dissent in a libel case, amounted to a withering, frontal assault on the 1964 Supreme Court decision that set the framework for modern defamation law — New York Times v. Sullivan.

And for 20 years, Democrat attorney generals who were sexual predators ruled. It’s quite an achievement for a national and state party that claims to protect women. A Donald Trump wax figure has become a whacks figure at a museum in Texas. Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks has removed its likeness of the former president, saying it was suffering too much damage because so many visitors were punching it. “When it’s a highly political figure, attacks can be a problem,” Clay Stewart, the regional manager for Ripley Entertainment, tells the San Antonio Express-News. Stewart tells the Express-News that the gouges left in the figure were quite deep. It’s not a problem exclusive to Trump. Figures of Barack Obama and George W. Bush also have taken a beating in the past.

The Soros DA in question is LA's George Gascon in close competition with SF's Chesa Boudin for the title of the worst pro-crime DA. While Gascon was backed by Soros, he was also funded by a variety of entertainment industry figures, including the wife of the Netflix CEO and Steven Spielberg, and his time in office has been characterized by a thuggery nearly as ruthless as the criminals he was selected to protect. The targets of Gascon's thuggery were the prosecutors trying to do their job. There have been some horrifying things that happened on Gascon's watch, but this might be yet another low.
