After a full day questioning perspective jurors in the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, only three people have been chosen to serve on the case. The first juror, a chemist in his 30s, lives in Minneapolis and is engaged to be married. The man, who is white, described himself as a "pretty logical person" and said he has generally favorable view of the Black Lives Matter movement as he believed all lives matter equally. He said he doesn't believe that the Blue Lives Matter counter viewpoint is necessary. The man also said he had never seen the

A logical person who has a favorable impression of BLM. Hmm. A go with the flow open minded person.
Wow just wow.

They need 12+2. They got 3 and sent over 20 home. This is gonna take forever. And who would want to be a juror? If you don't vote to convict on Murder 2, your life won't be worth a bucket of spit when BLM and Antifa dox you and they will.

Not surprised. I have been on a jury and the manipulation of the selection by the lawyers is nauseating.

Understandable. It's hard finding 12+2 kangaroos in Minneapolis.

Was a change of venue ever considered? Can't see getting an impartial jury in Minneapolis.

They must be struggling to find enough anti-police jurors

It's actually almost speaks well of Minneapolis that they are having a hard time finding jurors, since they are looking for jurors who are either strongly biased against police or are really, really stupid.

Is there anything left to burn in Minneapolis because it's going to be torched no matter the outcome? The end of the trial will mean more shopping season (looting) to follow. So you can be white but you must be 'woke' to play on the team.

So far so good. The judge is genial and on his toes. Called out the prosecution yesterday for referring to the plaintiff by his last name rather than by "Mr.". IMO highly balanced.
The pretrial motions seem intended to prevent anything from mucking up the jury.
The jury pool has had quite a few people originally from rural areas of the state. One reason given against the change of venue is that the entire state was saturated with the news. But that doesn't account for bias either for or against the Mpls. police, which might be stronger in the Cities.
I agree that some of the jurors should have been dismissed earlier. The attorneys seem determined to find reasons to include people on the jury. My opinion only.
But so far, it's been very civil. That won't matter in the end of Mr. Chauvin is acquitted, though. I expect to see more rioting in that case because, well, because "St. George." I'm not saying the conclusion is foregone. I want to hear about the dueling autopsy reports, for one thing.

Sounds like a redo of the OJ Jury. Can we find 14 or so idiots in Minneapolis?
I'm thinking the answer is yes.

If you get picked for this jury, you have two choices: convict him even if he is innocent, or accept that your life and your whole family will be destroyed if you actually vote based on the facts.
I would walk in there with a Confederate flag t-shirt, and use the "N" every time they asked me anything, even if it didn't have anything to do with an African-American person. They wouldn't be able to show me the door fast enough!!!

#2 is correct, you'll be outed and exposed regardless of the outcome of the trial.
Who wants that?
I do seem to recall that there is a SCOTUS ruling in 1973 that gave people the "right to privacy", yet somehow people are doxing others without any penalty for violating their civil right that was given by SCOTUS?

I don't know why they're bothering with a trial. The Derek Chauvin is being railroaded and anyone who's paid attention knows it. George Floyd died of an overdose of fentanyl. Chauvin and the other officers are being strung up as sacrifices to the BLM mob.

What a bunch of garbage. Anyone who says they do not have a preconceived opinion of who is to blame for the death is either lying or
a closet case. Why this trial is not taking place in another STATE is unfathomable to me. It will NOT be an impartial jury, no matter how many questions are asked of prospective jurors. Lawyers have a limited number of jury prospect refusals and THEN they end up with a biased group. THAT is a travesty.

No matter what happens when the trial begins, Chauvin will not be convicted. Floyd was far from being a saint. Consider just having fentenyl in his tox screen'

We watched some of the jury selection on Court TV. Many perspective jurors should have been tossed out after just 1 question.
