El CENTRO, Calif. — A semitruck on Tuesday crashed into an SUV carrying 25 people on a Southern California highway, killing 13 and leaving others injured, authorities said. California Highway Patrol Chief Omar Watson said 12 people died at the scene, which is about 11 miles (18 kilometers) north of the U.S.-Mexico border, and another died after arriving at the hospital. Hospital officials earlier reported there were 15 killed and more people in the SUV. Highway Patrol said it’s not clear what caused the crash between the SUV and a tractor-trailer full of gravel on a highway through fields in
Biden administration has blood on their hands for encouraging this lawlessness at our border.

Not clear what caused the crash? Put 25 people in anything short of a bus and you have a vehicle that's impossible to handle or control on a highway. And who allow themselves to be packed into an SUV with that many other bodies? One guess.

I used to drive a Suburban that was a 9 passenger SUV - one of the largest on the market. Even with putting people in the extra space at the back for cargo and cramming people in the seats, I have no idea how they got 25 people in something like that. Now a small delivery type van maybe?? I have to agree with the OP about the Dems welcome wagon.

"Obviously, that vehicle’s not meant for that many people" ...... really. Big truck + near the Mexican border + in Kalifornia + over-packed with passengers + early in the AM + omitting the ages and names of affected victims of the crash ~ gee, what could that possibly be???? If you ever have visited a city in Central America, you know that the traffic there is an issue of the unstoppable force vs. the immovable object: life is cheap, people pack their families/kids in the most dangerous vehicles and no one bats an eyelash. The invisible coyote in this story should be hung out to dry. In the Palm Springs desert. In mid-summer.

Strange that there is not any identification of the driver of the SUV or passengers at all. I wonder why?

Mexican sardines. Imagine trying to get an accurate body count and identification out of this.

The SUV was a Ford Expedition that could, per the article "safely carry 8 to 9 persons." Could have run a stop sign; gee, I'm sure the driver was into safety precautions with 25 people in his car. Wish I could see the plates on the Ford.
Seriously, the dangerous trip -- on both sides of the border -- should from a humanitarian stand point encourage strong border enforcement. How many women and children are killed, abused, raped, enslaved, robbed , extorted, trafficked, injured, abandoned or mistreated by the cartels, coyotes (2 legged and 4 legged, although the 2 legged are deadlier), and crooked officials on both sides of the border?
In many ways, I can't blame many of the people making the trip. Things are bad where they live and America, as it was for many of our ancestors, is a land of opportunity (although that could change). You and I, like our ancestors, probably would do the same thing. But today, we have too many looking at these arrivals as goods and chattel -- cheap labor, future voters and power, smugglers for the cartel's drug trade, and even sexual playthings.
Cripes, I can count lots of civil rights violations right there.
And yet, 25 people get in an SUV with a driver (aka coyote) who runs stop signs and gets t-boned by a gravel truck, killing most of them. God rest their souls.

My BIL had an old Bronco stolen in San Diego many years ago. It was found with 13 illegals stuffed into it...the seats had been removed. This sort of thing is pretty common here in CA.

When you break the law anything can happen.
So I have no sad feelings about it.

There was a similar looking T-bone wreck in Houston many years ago, something like 15 died. Mostly children in a van, all the dead had broken necks. I'll guess everyone turned their heads ninety degrees milliseconds before they were struck.

Thirteen fewer illegals in the country probably because the other illegals couldn't read English and didn't know or care about traffic laws.

you know the Biden answer to this is to pay for transportation for all the illegals who get across the border so they won't need to put 27 in a single SUV.

They have to be illegal aliens, because if they were legal farm workers traveling from a farm labor camp to a field, they would have been riding in a labor bus operated by a farm labor contractor. In order to get that many people in a Ford Expedition you would have to "marry them up" meaning that after the first person sits down on the floor the next person sits as far up on the first person's lap as possibly and continue that "marrying up" seating all the way to the rear of the vehicle then start with the next row of people. They could at least make a four to five row "marry up" with about six people in each row. Then with the driver and a couple of more people up front, including a smuggler, or two, you would have about 27 people. They were probably traveling from near the borderline and were trying to evade any Border Patrol checkpoints in the area and then on to the Los Angeles area. The Democrats will probably blame the Border Patrol checkpoints for that accident, claiming that if the checkpoints were not there that it would not be necessary for the smugglers to "marry up" so many illegal aliens in one such vehicle.

Argument from the LEFT: This is just further proof that we should open our borders so people can safely enter our country without fear of dying. Seriously, that will be their argument.

Can be done #17 but you have to ask the Democrat Clown Car experts for the details. I'm wondering who was driving the big truck.

This resembles the stories the AP used to publish back in the Obama Administration when we had terrorist strikes in the United States. "We may never know the cause . . .".

Heard a news report yesterday that said the Ford Expedition ( probably the biggest SUV) had to stack their 'cargo' like cordwood. My brother drives one of these and I swear that if the seat backs were all folded down , my Miata would fit in there.

SUV crammed with 25 people a stone's throw from the border. Any bets they were jumping on the welcome wagon from Democrats?
