Michael Sherwin, acting U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, said that his office has started a federal, excessive force investigation over the shooting and killing of former U.S. Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt in the Capitol on Jan. 6. Sherwin confirmed the investigation with CBS News. His civil rights section will lead the prosecution, which is being investigated by D.C. police and the FBI. The Epoch Times hasn’t been able to independently verify the investigation. Brian Hudak, Acting Civil Chief of the U.S. Attorney Office of District of Columbia, the FBI, and The U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) didn’t respond to a request for comment.

Where are the riots, burnings, and looting? Why hasn't the officer been named and demands made that he get life? Why aren't mobs chanting her name and demanding "justice for Ashli"? Oh, that's right. Now I remember. She was a white conservative; not a black, drug dealing leftist thug.

That investigation must be done, as the lady who was shot was unarmed, and at the time she was shot, she appeared to be standing among a group of people including uniformed police officers. We will have to wait until the law enforcement investigation is complete to determine if deadly force by law enforcement was justified under the circumstances. Can you imagine the immediate response if the person who was shot and killed was a Black female BLM supporter, chances are by now the USA would find the country in the throes of another round of George Floyd style riots in the big Democrat run liberal cities from coast to coast.

Tin foil hat time here, but she's not really dead. Slowed down video shows it was a blank. A mysterious gun comes out from the side and shoots while we're looking down the hall at the cop. No blood spray from a bullet shot that far away? Nobody flinched? Super red blood smeared across her face instantly that's flowing in the wrong direction? Big backpack underneath her flag for her to fall on? The "cop" behind her gives a "thumbs up" to the guy down the hall.... It's a setup

I wouldn't trust any report by anyone in Washington DC. The best we can do in regards to Wednesday, is to read the first hand accounts from Trump supporters who were there. I've read several. btw, The only consequence of what happened, was the hearing was interrupted for a few hours. While the media publicizes their "insurrection directed by Trump" and "DC under siege" narratives, I am honestly appalled by the sheer stupidity of Leftists who believe the narratives. The "mob" attacked no one, there were shoving matches, there was no vandalism, no fires were set, there was no looting, no one was taken hostage. And yet, the media has successfully whipped up the Leftists into a frenzy.

why is this such a big deal? there was a use of firearm, someone died. this is, if not compulsory, but certainly the best route to protect the officer. watch for the civil suits. it's the government so every lawyer in her area is salivating at the thought of suing the deep pockets of the federal government. too many suspicious aspects of this incident.

I think this will all come to nothing. There is a report out of a Capitol police officer committing suicide in the last day or so. link: https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/01/capitol-hill-police-officer-dies-suicide-january-6-protests/ My GUESS ..... and it is ONLY a guess..... is it was the cop that shot Ashli Babbitt. It seems to me that nothing else happened that would cause one of the cops to take his own life. Anyone have any additional info on this?

Across the internet and social media I’m reading a variety of stories about how the Justice Department and the Courts are managing the process of arresting dozens — maybe a hundred or more — persons being charged in connection with protesters storming the Capitol on January 6. Let me clear up some confusion on the process and how things are playing out in the initial proceedings which are happening in courts all across the country — and that is the first issue everyone needs to understand about what is taking place. The US Attorney’s Office in the District of Columbia has jurisdictional responsibility for prosecution

It’s the worst nightmare for public health officials and it appears to be coming true. Los Angeles County is experiencing a health emergency as hospitals are literally filling up with COVID patients. Ambulances circle the city waiting for a spot to open up in emergency rooms. The ICU’s are at zero capacity. They are running out of oxygen. The emergency rooms are treating six patients at a time. There are people in hallways waiting for a bed. The COVID crisis is hitting hospitals across the U.S. although none appear to be in as bad a shape as LA — for now. But the dramatic rise in positive tests

The timeline and nature of events on January 6th at the Capitol continue to unfold. However, because of what happened that day and what federal law enforcement sees as credible threats, the security around Inauguration Day is taking on an ominous tone with at least 20,000 National Guard troops deployed. Jack Murphy is a political commentator and a resident of Washington, D.C. This morning, he put out a Twitter thread about his observations of what is happening in the nation’s capital. To put it bluntly, members of our military have been deployed on American soil in what appears to be a temporary occupation around the area of the inauguration.

It was just a few days ago that the Texas State Capitol opened up for the new session of the Texas legislature. The top concern at that time was protecting lawmakers, staff, and visitors from the coronavirus. Now the capitol building and grounds have been closed and it has nothing to do with COVID-19. Threats of violent protests that have come into all 50 states, including Texas, caused the Texas Department of Public Safety to abruptly close the capitol Friday night. The building and the Capitol grounds were closed due to new intelligence coming in that intensified safety concerns

President-elect Joe Biden just unveiled his proposal for a $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package. Democrats insist it is targeted to respond to the crisis and only full of “commonsense” measures and much-needed emergency spending. Yet, even a cursory glance at the specifics of the package reveals that it’s a Trojan horse for a sweeping liberal agenda that Biden could never otherwise get passed. Yes, the proposal does include billions for vaccine distribution, testing, school reopenings, and the like. But it also includes blatant partisan priorities, such as a federal $15 minimum wage. Biden knows that this far-left, job-killing policy would never make it out of Congress

Democrats are making extraordinary efforts to suppress all discussion of whether Joe Biden actually won the 2020 presidential election. In fact, they go even farther: they want to suppress all discussion of the extent to which voter fraud occurred. That naturally makes me want to write about voter fraud, and who really won the election. First, this question: why are the Democrats so hysterical in their insistence that fraud not be mentioned? One reason is obvious. Joe Biden will take office under a cloud, since close to half of all Americans doubt that he really won the election. The Democrats want to stamp out

After chaos engulfed the U.S. Capitol last week, some Chinese intellectuals found themselves searching for copies of an out-of-print book to make sense of events. “America Against America” forecast the U.S.’s decline due to domestic conflicts more than 30 years ago. Among the things driving demand was the author: Wang Huning, the Communist Party’s No. 5 leader and top political theorist to three Chinese presidents. Some copies have surged to more than 16,600 yuan ($2,500) on Kungfuzi, an online marketplace for antiques. That’s more than 3,000 times its original asking price in 1991, when Japan was more widely seen as America’s big economic rival.

But almost two years later, he's having his words used against him as Republicans grapple with Trump's imminent departure from office. Pence wrote that in response to Pelosi's 24-hour ultimatum that he invoke the Constitution's 25th Amendment against Trump, or

The Capitol Police have over 2,000 sworn officers. A police force dedicated to protecting Capitol Hill has more personnel in its service than the police forces of most of the country. Congress' private cops are the 19th largest police force in the country. It’s a larger force than the police forces of Atlanta, Baltimore, Denver, or Milwaukee with a massive $460 million budget. It’s the only legislative federal force in the country that is answerable exclusively to Congress. While Democrats advocated defunding the police, their private police force budget shot up from $375 million in 2016 to $460 million in 2020. After the Capitol Hill riot, expect it to go higher. Much higher.
