"Real Time" host Bill Maher had some harsh words for the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, whose death paved the way for the confirmation of Justice Amy Coney Barrett. During a Monday night appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," Maher was asked about the moment when news of Ginsburg's death broke while he was taping his show and Jimmy Kimmel expressed his amazement at how his panel was "exactly right" at predicting how events that were going to play out. "Well, it's not like her death was a shock," Maher said. "Well, it was -- it was, though," Kimmel responded. "Really? She

I think that RGB was hacked off at Obama. She was rushed to the hospital early in Zero's first term and within hours the White House let it be known that they were searching for a replacement, before they had a body.

For once in his life Bill Maher is correct. I would not be surprised that Obama wanted her to resign, but her "American Civil Liberties" ego prevailed.

Yes, she should have retired. But RGB believed she would be around forever and the Court could not carry on without her. I feel that perhaps she was hanging out for Clinton to be prez. (Let's face it no one on that side of the aisle believed President would win. That blew her plan.) That way the first female prez could make the first supreme nomination. Frankly I am so glad she decided to hang around. Hee Hee

Imagine, a slathering hate filled Dim criticizing another slathering hate filled Dim for being selfish. I guess ruthie was a “bitter clinger.”
Maybe Maher should move on.

Judges retire. Ruthie was no judge. She was a tieless legislator without the courage to run for office. Remember, she wasn't placed on the Court to be a judge, but to fight for worm's reproductive rights (as if biology hasn't a darn thing to do with reproduction) and environment rights and other pet liberal policies. Not, policies, not laws. She was their to enact policy. As such, she couldn't retire while there was legislative work left to do. Obambi did pretty good naming a self proclaimed racist and sexist to the bench. She will continue eating liberal policies by judicial fiat. Same with the liar to the Senate during confirmation. Though she is pretty stupid and occasional screws up and rules as a judge. All the liberals in the world can whine about how sad it is to lose unaccountable black robed legislators from the bench. Electins have consequences. Live with it. We did!

The reason Bill? RBG thought style over substance was more important. A supreme court pick for hIllary was far more important to those who think and vote with their "feels" than with their brains. Thats why Bill

She should have retired after her third bout with cancer. She wasn't doing the nation any favors. Supremes don't have to worry about a "25th Amendment" to remove them from the bench.

i detest the term 'reproductive rights.' That is not what Ruthie supported.
In China, women do not have reproductive rights. For several decades, a woman was allowed to have just one child. If she became pregnant with a second child, a neighborhood committee would convince her to abort.
Ruthie supported abortions at will, unlimited by the wishes of anyone other than the woman, and performed for any reason. 9If an unborn baby was a girl, her odds of being aborted went up. Some parents practice such a gruesome approach to sex selection, and girl foetus are more likely to get flushed down the drain.
Was ruthie a good jurist? No. Her decisions are unremarkable.
After all, this a was the woman who said, during Bush v. Gore oral arguments in 2000, "I just don't see a federal issue here."
That had to be the single most stupid comment ever uttered in that chamber.

Something he said about President Trump recently. Of course, he wouldn't know what up to the job means.

For whatever reason, the sainted RBG didn't retire when she could have been replaced with a reliable leftist like "the wise Latina." Too bad, so sad.

In this case Maher appears to be correct. The Obama crew tried to get Ginsburg to retire a number of times and Ginsburg always ignored those requests. Remember Ginsburg was an ardent feminist and wanted another ardent feminist to replace her on the Supreme Court. She certainly did not want Obama to pick some ultra liberal male to replace her on the court. In that respect she knew that Hillary Clinton was going to run for President and decided to hang in there until after Clinton was elected and could select her replacement, of course another ardent feminist. Ginsburg just like all the other DC “insiders” liberal Democrats, and a lot of establishment Republicans to boot, were sure that Clinton would win the 2016 election and that everything would be peachy for the Democrats with Ginsburg ready to retire following Clinton taking over the White House as President and in the position to select Ginsburg’s very liberal feminist replacement on the Supreme Court. But when the American people outside the DC beltway decided otherwise and elected President Trump, with that decision of the American people, they effectively kicked over the DC “insider” liberal Democrat, establishment Republican, and Ginsburg’s political apple carts, causing Ginsburg to try to hold on again until a liberal Democrat (Biden) won the 2020 election and gained the position to select her replacement on the court, but as we can see that did not work out. If the leftist and liberal Democrats have any complaint about Trump filling Ginsburg’s Supreme Court, that complaint should target Ginsburg who made bad decisions concerning which President would end up selecting her replacement on the court. Now all that is water under the bridge!

My understanding is that she was so confidant that the Hilldebeast was going to win, that she wanted to stay around to be able to swear in the "first woman president". And the the Hilldebeast could replace her with another rabid lie-beral justice.
Then Donald Trump came along and killed her plan (thank God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
The funny part is that she could have retired under Ovomit, and if the Hilldebeast had won, absolutely nobody (especially not any Republicans) would have complained at all if they broke precedence and allowed her to come out of retirement for 1 day to swear in the she-beast.
But nobody can ever accuse lie-berals of being smart, or applying logic, reason, or facts to anything!!!! And, in this case, thank you God that they didn't!!!!

She wanted the legacy of the first woman president picking her replacement. That is the bottom line. RBG also had to have seen the lack of intelligent legal thinking in the two that Obama did put on the court. Ginsburg's arrogance was what cost the democrats.

RBG was a judicial legislator who relished her power and wanted to hold onto it as long as possible. She calculated that she could retire between 2017 and 2020 and have her successor on the SCOTUS chosen by the PIAPS, the almost certain successor to Ubama. Unfortunately for RBG, that plan fell through in the most gnarly way, and willy nilly she had to try to hang on until the end of Trump's presidency.
She would have needed to live until January 2025. She got her last four miserable years on the Court, and America got Justice Amy Coney Barrett. Works for me.

It is absolutely delightful to see dems whining and attacking one of their own to blame for their problems. Sure, RBG's ego is probably to blame for this outcome but ego is what dems are all about. Heck, Maher and Kimmel are egoists. None of the above are in their positions for talent. They are there because they are relentless self promoters and hacks. The media, in general has the same problem and so do many politicians. Trump is such a shock because his main goal to to accomplish what he sets out to do and is highly competent in doing it. That's fairly unique in Washington and in media land as well.
So, we got to make liberal stew that is fun to watch being made but that no one will eat and we get a significantly more Conservative court that could last for decades. What fun!
