It was announced yesterday that Gal Gadot, an Israeli actress best known for her titular role in 2017’s live-action Wonder Woman film, is set to portray Cleopatra in an upcoming biopic of the same name. Its director is Patty Jenkins, who had previously worked with Gadot on Wonder Woman. The announcement of her casting was met with fury and consternation, both from self-styled “progressives” and from large segments of the Arab and Muslim community. Before long, the internet was flush with denunciations of Gal Gadot for her alleged “whitewashing” of “Arab” roles, and of the film industry itself for casting her as Cleopatra in the first place.

Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden snapped at a CBS News reporter late on Friday night for asking about the bombshell reports published this week in the New York Post about the business dealings of his son, Hunter Biden, and Joe Biden’s actions as vice president. When asked by Bo Erickson what his response was to the reports, Joe Biden said, “I have no response.”Biden lashed out at the reporter, saying, “I know you’d ask it” and that it was a “smear campaign” that was “right up” the reporter’s “alley,” adding, “those are the questions you always ask.”

The social media angle of the Hunter Biden email story has nearly taken over public discussion of the piece published in the New York Post, headlined "Smoking-gun email reveals how Hunter Biden introduced Ukrainian businessman to VP dad." Yes, it's true that Twitter and Facebook censorship of the story is outrageous. The social media giants have taken a giant step toward earning new regulations from Washington. But the social media story isn't the big story. The big story is: Did Hunter Biden introduce that Ukrainian businessman to his vice president father? That would be important for two reasons. One, we already know that the corrupt Ukrainian energy

President Donald Trump pointed out to supporters Friday night at a campaign rally in Macon, Georgia, what he and his administration have done for the black community in America.“I got criminal justice reform done, prison reform, Opportunity Zones with [Sen.] Tim Scott (R) from South Carolina — a great, great man, great person,” Trump said.As the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA), a bureau of the U.S. Department of Commerce, explains, an Opportunity Zone is “an economically-distressed community where private investments, under certain conditions, may be eligible for capital gain tax incentives.”Opportunity Zones were created under the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which Trump championed and signed

It turns out Democrats aren’t as forgiving of elderly politicians as we might have thought. After several months of doing their best to ignore former Vice President Joe Biden’s declining abilities and his unending string of inexplicable gaffes, Democrats have had it with one particular senior citizen: Sen. Dianne Feinstein. In a story published by The New York Times the weekend before Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation hearings began, various sources within the party voiced no confidence in the California senator’s ability to lead Democrats’ efforts to stop the nomination.

ICE deportation officers fanned out across six sanctuary city regions in recent weeks, officials announced Friday, nabbed more than 170 illegal immigrants who’d been released by local police in defiance of deportation requests. Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad F. Wolf warned other sanctuaries that they’ll see a heightened U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement presence in their communities, too, as long as they refuse full cooperation on turning over people from their prisons and jails. “These are not everyday people. They are hardened criminals,” Mr. Wolf said in a press conference from Philadelphia, one of the regions targeted.

Harvey Weinstein is broke and will likely die if he remains in prison, his lawyer said Friday at a hearing over whether the former powerhouse producer should be freed on bail pending an appeal of his Manhattan rape conviction. “[Weinstein’s] physical and mental condition has so deteriorated, I do not think it’s an overstatement to say that if he is not released as part of this application, his chances of surviving in prison are rather low,” one of his lawyers, Barry Kamins, told Judge Angela Mazzarelli during a virtual hearing in the Appellate Division First Department.

BOSTON — U.S. Rep. Joe Kennedy III’s campaign improperly spent $1.5 million earmarked for the general election during the Massachusetts congressman’s failed bid to capture the Democratic nomination for a U.S. Senate seat, he said Friday. Kennedy said in a statement to The Boston Globe that he did not know about the improper spending before the Sept. 1 primary election, and has since reimbursed the campaign with his $1.5 million of his own money. He and his campaign self-reported the violation to the Federal Election Commission last week, he said. “After an internal review, I believe it was an honest mistake by those involved, resulting from misinformation,

Rudy Giuliani is all over the news these days, detailing the emails and documents on that MacBook Pro laptop purported to have belonged to Hunter Biden. According to Giuliani, only about 5% of the hard drive’s relevant content has been published. That 5% already paints Joe Biden as either the figurehead or director of a conspiracy to use his political positions to generate millions of dollars from dubious and even hostile foreign sources, with son Hunter as the prime conduit. The money goes to the Biden family. It’s an explosive charge. The Democratic Party’s presidential nominee could be the head of a syndicate trading on U.S. power as a product.

The Senate Judiciary Committee hearings that Democrats hoped would thwart Amy Coney Barrett’s path to the Supreme Court instead threaten to squash a greater hope of Senate Democrats: a majority. Cory Booker of New Jersey asked the adoptive mother of two Haitian children, “You condemn white supremacy, correct?” Sen. Mazie Hirono asked the question on nobody’s mind: “Since you became a legal adult, have you ever made unwanted requests for sexual favors, or committed any physical or verbal harassment or assault of a sexual nature?” Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse’s presentation Tuesday drew comparisons by Sen. Ben Sasse to the fevered thinking portrayed in A Beautiful Mind.

The increasing brazenness with which the various Big Tech behemoths distort their search algorithms to hide conservative viewpoints, undermine conservatives through “shadow banning” and weaponize the sanctimonious and self-serving “fact-checking” cottage industry to suppress conservative voices has long been clear. The 2017 dismissal of Google engineer James Damore exposed the search giant as an “ideological echo chamber” (Damore’s words) — a company that, incidentally, has a jaw-dropping 87.3 percent share of the US search market. Facebook has outright banned anti-lockdown pages and removed posts supportive of the besieged teenager Kyle Rittenhouse. T

First, the Goya Foods boycott turned into a “buycott.” Now the largest Hispanic-owned foods company is finding favorable backlash in the wake of the CEO’s praise for President Trump. Company sales have been “fantastic” and “historic” following the controversy surrounding his positive comments for President Trump in July, according to CEO Robert Unanue. “Our sales went up significantly since the pandemic,” Unanue told FOX Business’ Stuart Varney. “We did well because the restaurant business declined 70% but we also did well because of the backlash of a boycott to a buycott. We have our traditional customers, we kept them, but we also have new customers.”

The convergence of law and politics is a common occurrence in Washington. While law is used to ascertain truth, politics is often used to obscure it. That is why the truth is rarely evident in looking at a scandal straight on. Rather it requires peripheral vision or analysis – often what is not evident is what is most enlightening. This most famous example of such reasoning was found in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s story “Silver Blaze,” on Sherlock Holmes’s investigation of the disappearance of a racehorse. The local inspector asked if there was “any point to which you would wish to draw my attention?”

Danielle D’Souza Gill, the daughter of best-selling author and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza, believes President Donald Trump’s nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett has tapped into one of Democrats’ deepest fears: The Supreme Court may one day overturn Roe v. D’Souza Gill, who is a member of the Women for Trump advisory board, argues in her newly released book “The Choice: The Abortion Divide in America,”
