In three days before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Judge Amy Coney Barrett did more than just prove that she belongs on the Supreme Court. She delivered one of the most effective performances ever for a nominee seeking the job.
As judicial nominations have become more contentious, all recent nominees to the Supreme Court have demonstrated a depth of knowledge about constitutional law and a lawyer’s ability to field questions from senators. Barrett certainly did all of that. In days of testimony, she effortlessly recounted the issues at stake in various legal disputes, juggled questions from senators, and explained the reasoning in her own decisions and academic writings, all without notes.

Since the Kavanaugh and Barr hearings I knew the dems had no integrity or morality or civility and now I know they have no sense. All I could think was that I was watching a high school debating team(dems) going against the brightest person in the world”maybe she is”. Truely a sad day for dems and now all we have to look forward to is them throwing temper tantrums to delay the inevitable confirmation.

Exactly what we want in a judge. Read the text of the law, if necessary, examine whether the meaning of words might have been a bit different when the law was written than now. And judge on the meaning of the law as it was written, as it was understood by the people who voted on it, and who wrote it.
Don't inject your own political views....like Sotomayor, Kagan, Ginsburg and Breyer ALWAYS do. Those judges are corrupting their jobs, and are very wrong.
Barrett is what our Founding Fathers intended in judges. Let's hope she can be there for 30+ years.

Democrat Senators wanted Barrett to give her views on POLICY issues and she refused to do so.
Barrett repeatedly reminded Democrat Senators that it was THEIR job to debate and decide policy and it was HER job to interpret the Constitution and laws in order to settle disputes among affected parties.
The contrast in acceptance of defined roles could not have been more clear.

In all likelihood, Amy Coney Barrett will make some decisions that I am not happy with. In doing so, she will be following the Constitution loyally and interpreting it to the best of her ability regardless of her own personal policy preferences. Love her!

Nope. A Grand Slam home run, which won the World Series and the World Championship.
And a 6-love set to close out Wimbledon.
And a penalty kick which won the World Soccer Championship.
And 200 runs to win the British Test Cup.
And a hat trick to win the hockey cup.
And the Kentucky Derby. And the Triple Cup.
Shall I go on?

I thought she was a little squishy on George Floyd, calling it racist violence that made her cry. She may have just been playing it safe, but still, a distinguished judge should be able to think independently and not rush to judgment. I wonder how Scalia would have handled that.

The Democrats are aiming at the wrong targets when they blame President Trump or Judge Barrett for doing their parts in accordance with filling an empty US Supreme Court seat. Trump did his job under the constitution when he nominated Barrett to fill that empty seat, and Barrett just exercised her right to accept the President’s nomination.
The legitimate blame for the Ginsburg seat becoming open when a Republican President is in office and when the Republicans control the US Senate rests with nobody other than the late Justice Ginsburg. In that respect Ginsburg has been suffering poor health and infirmaries for years. Back during the second Barack Obama term, Obama and the Democrats attempted to convince Ginsburg to retire from the court so that Obama could nominate a progressive person to replace Ginsburg on the Court, but as was her right Ginsburg declined to do so. Obviously Ginsburg’s intention was to wait out Obama’s term, and after Hillary Clinton was elected, to retire and give Clinton, an extreme feminist, the opportunity to nominate her replacement of the court. Clearly Ginsburg and the other career DC Democrats were shocked when Clinton lost the election with Trump being elected. In order to give some future Democrat President the opportunity to nominate a progressive to take her place on the court, Ginsburg had to outlive the Trump Presidency. As we can see, Ginsburg came up short in that respect and here we are today.
Look at it this way, this is just another episode of many since he came down the escalator at the Trump Tower and announced for President, where President Trump has upset the DC career Democrat’s apple carts!

#11, Judge Barrett probably does not have all the information which shows that Floyd died of a drug overdose, a heart attack and excited delirium - not aspyxiation. And that the 'knee on shoulder and head" (not on the neck) is the Minn. Police Department trained method, advised by doctors, as the safest way to restrain an excited delirium patient without compromising breathing.
Since essentially ALL the media has ignored this information, you have to have the proper connections and work diligently to find out these truths. I am sure that the judge doesn't have the time, and gets her news from the horror show that is the Enemedia on most of this stuff.

Of course she had an easy time. There wasn't some bimbo or guy coming out of no where accusing her of some sexual misconduct that supposedly happened thirty years before. The demosluts had no where to go with her nomination. They couldn't make up a sexual act or bias against a woman, only a man can have that done to him.

Barrett was amazing. She sliced and diced the dopey dems that seemed to think they we trying to debate legislation in Congress and make HER responsible for its success or failure. What they failed to realize is, if the legislation that THEY passed is inadequate to the task they describe, it is up to THEM to fix it, not the courts. The reason the dems are so upset is because they are UNABLE to pass the laws they want and have been using the courts and the liberal judges to get their agenda accomplished. Barrett and Trump's other judges are going to flip the dems on their heads. Once he is reelected, Trump will cement the job.
Consider this is the 3rd spectacular justice that Trump has appointed to the SCOTUS. Trump's talent is knowing how to get the job DONE, including picking the right people. I can't wait until we see some joint opinions from Barrett and Thomas. It will be a new legal era.

I have a serious question that I hope someone could answer. After watching the Kavanaugh inquisition, and after watching the Democrats vain attempt to discredit and slander this highly qualified and intelligent woman during these recent hearings, why on earth would anyone still support such a demonic, hate filled party?

A Patriotic Japanese-American soldiers did not die for a Lowlife Swamp Creature like Maizie Hirono, so she could falsely criminalize, insult, and shame another patriot like Amy Coney Barrett. Crazy Maizie is indeed an ugly, miserable, and an evil beast like the one we fought to destroy in Germany.

How many members of the Senate hearing were jealous of an educated refined woman ? Amy and Mazie were malicious. I am of the opinion that it takes nothing special to be elected to Congress today.

These morons are Senators, but both houses have been comprised of idiots for years. Now, with AOC, Omar, Tlaib, et. al., it's become very dangerous, and will likely need to be dealt with.
