Richard Feynman wrote “science is the belief in the ignorance of experts,” and nothing could demonstrate that point more readily than the public’s growing disaffection with the experts of the public health apparatus -- the WHO, the CDC, and Dr. Anthony Fauci. Their proscriptions (often conflicting) respecting the handling of Covid-19 were simply not “scientific.” They were, in fact, nothing more than guesses which did not work out. Not that that stopped them from silencing those whose experience, both medical and non-medical, contradicted their guesswork.

Comments:

It's not the Black Plague and the CDC/Fauci proscriptions didn't work--just made more people die.

I do miss Mr. Feynman-he'd have plenty to say on how "science" is managing covid worldwide.

Gosh. And these are our BEST scientific experts. Who would have thought it? So noble. So pure. So caring about ordinary Americans. Viruses are small. That is why they were originally called filterable. That was because they would pass through a porcelain filter, which a bacteria would not. And the masks are no better than porcelain filters. Who would have known? And the Gold Standard masks are hard to breathe through? Gosh. I never would have guessed that. And Fauci owns stock in a company which makes a $3000 per dose medicine, and stands to profit? My goodness. No conflict of interest there. And HQC works? I thought Fauci said it didn't work. And we have been in lockdown mode for 10 months, for what? To stroke the bank accounts of scientific experts? Jail time.

It is not Lysenkoism, yet, but the dims are pushing us towards it with their "follow the science" mantra. As the Feynman quote alludes, science isn't about accepting what the "experts" say, it is about questioning everything. I believe it was also Feynman who said something like no matter how beautiful a theory is if It doesn't agree with experiment it is wrong. And Einstein said only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity and I am not sure about the universe.

I was on a checkout line today and was informed by the karen in front of me that I was too close. So I moved back a bit and coughed every few seconds until she checked out. Sometimes you have to make your own fun.

I disappointed about how quickly and easily the citizens adopted the lockdowns and masks. Notice that there are no specifications for masks in public. I recently ate at a restaurant. I asked the manager what constituted a mask. She made up her own specifications on the spot. It must cover the nose and mouth and have straps that go around the ears.

The cynic in me thinks the press will urge a nationwide lockdown unless and until a Democrat sits in the White House at which time they will take a harder look at the diminishing Covid-19 fatalities and the increasing cost of the lockdowns. In the meantime frustrated, increasingly broke Americans are asking what happened to such rights as free speech, assembly, worship, freedom from unreasonable searches and seizures, right to bear arms, right to due process in criminal cases and privacy.

The French movie Hiroshima Mon Amour is based on human memory and forgetfulness as recounted by two lovers. The tale of the congresswoman who calls herself Ilhan Omar is a tale of an anti-Semite bred-in-the-bone corruptocrat whose rise in political power rests very largely on complicity by the media’s airbrushing of her history because they thought this physically attractive African Moslem “refugee” was just the ticket to defeat Donald Trump. The media counts on our forgetfulness and ignorance.

When Obama didn’t like a court order, he ignored it. In fact , he exceeded the constitutional bounds of his office at least 10 times, notes Ilya Shapiro. He did it in intervening in Libya without even notifying Congress; in subverting creditors’ rights in the Chrysler bailout; in his administration’s implementation of ObamaCare; In the political profiling by the IRS; in illegally appointing three members of the NLRB and the head of the Consumer Financial Protection Board when Congress was not in recess; in directing “the Department of Homeland Security to issue work and residence permits” to the so-called Dreamers (Deferred Action to Childhood Arrivals);

Life is too short to spend it on phony debates when you can see the highlights in videos and read the text of the remarks. The word peddlers are each picking their claims as to who won. The more critical observers suggest that I was right not to bother. Apparently Julian Castro thought transwomen have a right to an abortion. (Perhaps after taxpayers pay for them to have a uterus transplant): HOLT: Secretary Castro, this one is for you. All of you on stage support a woman’s right to an abortion. You all support some version of a government health care option.

In common parlance, a made man is someone whose path to success was greased by circumstances. It also refers to someone formally inducted as a full member of a criminal outfit -- the Mafia. In the political atmosphere in which Robert Mueller was born, he, like John Kerry, was virtually assured of a prestigious place in society: He was a tall white man with a hatchet jaw who (like his classmate Kerry) went to an expensive private school – St. Paul’s -- and came from a well-connected and well-off family.

That’s the title of a great song in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and that, it occurs to me, is an appropriate song for the media and the Democrats. For two years they vigorously promoted -- for their amusement and political benefit -- a fake Russian collusion story and now must watch it unravel and boomerang on them, their allies and the miscreants who created it. They had their fun, and the denouement has begun.

Two of the hosts of the ABC talk show “The View” admitted this week that they believe President Donald Trump’s coronavirus diagnosis was fake.Their admission came Thursday, a day after tech giants Facebook and Twitter began suppressing an unconfirmed story about Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden’s youngest son, Hunter, that media pundits had claimed was a “conspiracy theory.” The first admission was made by co-host Whoopi Goldberg as she was responding to a fellow co-host’s complaints that the idea of herd immunity — which is currently being considered by the White House — “seems cruel, seems callous.”“It doesn’t look good anywhere,” Goldberg responded before suddenly trotting out

When a New York tabloid published the alleged contents of a computer hard drive purporting to document the Ukrainian and Chinese business activities of Hunter Biden, the newspaper cast the information as a "smoking gun."
Enter the FBI.   Less than three weeks before one of the most contentious presidential campaigns in history, federal authorities are investigating whether the material supplied to the New York Post by Rudy Giuliani, President Donald Trump's personal lawyer, is part of a smoke bomb of disinformation pushed by Russia.   Corrections**

In yet another glaring example that today’s Democrat Party is not the same Democrat Party of not all that long ago, Joe Biden pledged on Friday to sign the so-called “Equality Act” — a bill would that force public schools to allow biological boys who identify as transgender girls to compete in girls’ sports. Let’s just let that sink in for a moment. As the Daily Caller reported, the Equality Act passed the House with unanimous support from Democrats in May 2019 but didn’t come up for a vote in the Republican-controlled Senate. This is yet another example of what will happen to this country if Biden wins the White House

Twitter has refused to unlock the New York Post's account since Wednesday unless the outlet deletes six tweets about its reporting on 2020 Democratic nominee Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden, the Post reported. Both the San Francisco-based social media platform and Facebook came under fire this week after the two blocked users from sharing a Post article showing purported communication between 2020 Democratic nominee Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden, and an adviser to a Ukrainian energy company. The younger Biden's work in the country while his father was vice president was at the heart of President Trump's impeachment trial earlier this year.

Former President Barack Obama will head to Philadelphia on Wednesday to campaign on behalf of the Biden-Harris ticket, his first appearance on the trail thus far. With just two weeks until the election, Obama will rally support in a battleground state that President Trump won by less than a percentage point in 2016. Current polls show Democratic opponent Joe Biden leading Trump by more than five percentage points, according to a Real Clear Politics average. (Snip) Meanwhile, vice presidential hopeful Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., has tweaked her campaign events after multiple staffers tested positive for the coronavirus, but her husband, Doug Emhoff, will hold a rally in Philadelphia on Saturday.

Harvey Weinstein is broke and will likely die if he remains in prison, his lawyer said Friday at a hearing over whether the former powerhouse producer should be freed on bail pending an appeal of his Manhattan rape conviction. “[Weinstein’s] physical and mental condition has so deteriorated, I do not think it’s an overstatement to say that if he is not released as part of this application, his chances of surviving in prison are rather low,” one of his lawyers, Barry Kamins, told Judge Angela Mazzarelli during a virtual hearing in the Appellate Division First Department.

The sparse attendance and conspicuous lack of enthusiasm at Joe Biden’s rallies seems to have led old Joe’s handlers, despite his 10,000-point lead in the polls, to decide that another round of Islamopandering might be just the shot in the arm their campaign needs. After all, hard-Leftists such as Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and Linda Sarsour are all Muslims, and all were firmly in the Bernie Sanders camp before the Democratic National Committee shivved their man yet again. Their support for Biden has been decidedly tepid. And so it was time to send them some love. On Wednesday, Biden released a video message to Muslim Advocates,

Arguably the biggest sensation to come out of the debacle of a town hall NBC had with President Trump was the so-called “nodding lady.” Positioned directly behind the President’s left shoulder for one of the most widely used camera angles, she was applauded by some and attacked by others for nodding her head and displaying thumbs up in agreement when the President answered many of the attack questions posed to him by Savannah Guthrie. But she wasn’t originally positioned there. Before the town hall began, a Caucasian lady was originally positioned there.

An event billed as a free speech rally and a protest against Twitter turned violent Saturday. The event featured some well-known conservative personalities, but organizers were forced to cancel the rally minutes after it started. A large crowd of demonstrators gathered at UN Plaza in San Francisco to oppose a small group, holding what was billed as a free speech rally protesting what they say is Twitter's censorship of some of its content.
