President Donald Trump on Saturday ridiculed Sen. Ben Sasse of Nebraska after a tape of the Republican criticizing the president leaked to the media. “The least effective of our 53 Republican Senators, and a person who truly doesn’t have what it takes to be great, is Little Ben Sasse of Nebraska,” Trump wrote on Twitter.(Snip)
Trump noted that Sasse paused his criticism of the president during the Republican primary in Nebraska until he got Trump’s endorsement.

Wow Nebraska! You guys rank right up there with Utah as being some of the most gullible and ignorant voters for electing certified RINO's to represent your states.

If Trump's behavior jeopardizes Barrett's SC approval, I am going to scream. Time and place, Mr. President, time and place.

I can't figure Sasse out. He talks like he's a conservative but somehow is too stupid to see that Trump has been the most conservative President in decades.
Is he just an idiot, or what?

Even the conservative websites call him "Donald Trump," not "President Trump."

Wow, #2! Could your post be any more offensive? Ben Sasse sold himself as a Tea Party Republican the first time around. As he began to show his true colors, after he was elected, Nebraska conservatives began to get more and more disenchanted with him. I don’t think this is peculiar to Nebraska, however. This last time, we had a decent primary challenger to Sasse, but then President Trump endorsed Sasse and Sasse won the primary. Sasse is a well-connected and well-funded swamp rat. We Nebraskans are an independent lot, but I can assure you that the conservatives in the state are neither gullible, nor ignorant.

The President needs some surrogates who can be depended on to come out with these remarks. A mouthpiece, so to speak.

Little Ben Sass is a creepy self-serving RINO politician who intends to run for the 2024 Republican nomination for President in his own rite, or as Romney’s Vice-President. But Sass has shot himself in his political big toe, as there are very few Trump supporters now who will not remember Sass’s stupid comments in 2024, and will not vote for Sass, and that is a political killer, as Trump supporters make up a big majority of future Republican voters. Sass’s motive in making his RINO statements is to try and keep President Trump, and Vice-President Pence, from being re-elected, as if that happens Mike Pence will be the frontrunner for the 2024 Republican nomination for President leaving both Romney and Sass in the dust.
Sass’s comments regarding Trump and China were particularly stupid, as what is Trump supposed to do, go to war with China over Hong Kong and a Muslim minority group in China that are being oppressed by the Chinese Communist Party? In his comments Sass gave no solutions to those situations, and you can bet that Sass would not want his family members to join the armed forces to go to fight on battlefields against the Chinese Communists.

#2, absolutely. Nobody listens to what Sasse says anyway. Why would Trump do something that could backfire like this? They need every vote for Barrett they can get and can't lose any.

I find Sasse to be as obnoxious as does President Trump but is it wise to insult a member of the Justice Committee on the cusp of sending Judge Barrett’s nomination to the Senate for confirmation?
Suppose Sasse sides with the Democrats who surely will come up with some half-baked reason to delay the full Senate’s vote. If that happens I will blame the president more than I blame Sasse.
Secondly, surely President Trump doesn’t want Sasse to lose his senatorial seat in November. Sasse is a rat but that is no reason for the president to be stupid. Keep it zipped, sir.

One of the reasons we love him is he isn't afraid to call the fools and crooks of congress out #2. One way to assure her confirmation is WE get on the phone and the email system and maybe social media and burn down the Senate with our opinion of them right now if they hesitate. Voters have to stop expecting Trump to do it all alone. WE have to do our part to help him get reelected.

JEEZ MR PRESIDENT, can't you lay off the mocking of GOP senators whose vote is needed for Amy Coney Barrett until AFTER they vote? You have to know by now that these people are all a bunch of John McCain wannabees. THAT ONE bit us in the backside hard.

Holy cow, is this bad timing or what? DJT has already written off Susan Collins on the Amy Coney Barrett vote. Now he wants to get Sasse mad enough to vote with the Dems?
There's nothing wrong with what the President said, but this is not the time to p!$$ off another GOP Senator.

Sasse is a self-righteousness man, and it makes him look foolish as self-righteousness does every time. He also looks stupid, and he isn't stupid.
People go to DC, and it seems within a few weeks they have decided whether to sell their souls or to stand up against the pressures to conform and lose their moral core (or what was left of it, presuming they had some at all).

Whether you agree with the president’s remarks, or their timing, is no reason for excusing Sasse and blaming the president for Sasse’s actions should he vote with the Dems against ACB. His actions are his own responsibility. Punishing ACB because he is angry with the president would be similar to abusing your spouse because your boss made you angry. It is beneath contempt. Hopefully he is not THAT obnoxious or stupid.

Here is what Sasse said...he sounded like a Democrat. Don't blame Trump. Sasse is a back stabbing Republican.
Republican Sen. Ben Sasse excoriated President Trump in a telephone conference call with constituents this week, saying he had mishandled the coronavirus response, "kisses dictators' butts," "sells out our allies," spends "like a drunken sailor," mistreats women, and trash-talks evangelicals behind their backs.
Trump has "flirted with white supremacists," according to Sasse, and his family "treated the presidency like a business opportunity." He said Trump could drive the Senate into the hand of the Democrats and cause permanent damage to the Republican Party.

Does anyone have a read on what really motivates Sasse? He seems like he was a conservative for many years, and now is just seemingly random blowing off of ill-considered attacks that don't help anything associated with what he CLAIMS to support. And he seems to be unaware of the massive good that the President has done.
Is there some agenda that I don't know about? Seems that there must be.

Republicans should not have left this to the president to criticize. This bunch of lies deserves repudiation from Sasse’s colleagues.
