Kellyanne Conway, the counselor to the president and one of the longest fixtures in the Trump White House, will leave her position at the end of the month to focus on her family, she tweeted late Sunday. She posted on Twitter late Sunday that her husband, George Conway, a fierce critic of President Trump, will also make unspecified changes. “We disagree about plenty but we are united on what matters most: the kids,” she said in a statement. “Our four children are teens and ‘tweens starting a new academic year, in middle school and high school, remotely from home for at least a few months.”

Kellyanne Conway has announced that she is to leave the White House at the end of this month, the day after her 15-year-old daughter Claudia said she was 'officially pushing for emancipation' from her parents in a series of tweets.
The 53-year-old counselor to the president said she was leaving for the sake of her family, to be 'less drama, more mama'.
Her husband George, an attorney, is one of President Donald Trump's most vocal and pointed critics.

Police in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, are investigating the torture and killing of a cat as a possible hate crime because the animal belonged to the girlfriend of a police officer.
Josie Saltarelli found her cat Capone in the yard cut in half and gutted on Saturday morning.
Saltarelli believes that this was done because her boyfriend, who she lives with, is a police officer.
“We loved him dearly, I loved him dearly, and it’s really awful that the last image in my mind is what we found,” Saltarelli told local station News4.

The battle for the survival of the United States of America is upon us. It has not come in the form of traditional civil war. There are no uniformed armies, competing flags, or alternate constitutions. The great showdown is not being fought within the physical limits of a battlefield. It is instead happening all around us and directly to us. It defines our culture, sustains our media, and gives new shape to our public and private institutions. In this fight, there is no distinction between what was once known as the culture war and politics rightly understood.

If you thought the media might relax a bit during the Republican National Convention and not show themselves to be total hacks, you thought wrong. But let’s be serious, no one actually expected anything less.CNN laid out the groundwork this morning for how they will censor the RNC and keep their chosen narratives on track. The plan was unsurprisingly stated by Brian Stelter on his low-rated Sunday show. In his comments, he promised that CNN would cut in with “fact-checks” to counter things being said by Republicans.(Tweet/Video)

Joe Biden has some awful ideas for those of us living in Georgia, Florida, or South Dakota. For now, these states still feel like America despite COVID-19. I can speak to Georgia specifically. We have no statewide mask mandate, and leaders are not allowed to mandate them at the local level. Businesses are open, with some requiring masks for service.Other than that, life is 94% back to normal. We have college football starting in the SEC with limited stadium attendance. Outdoor festivals are back, and restaurants are operating indoors and leaving it up to patrons to determine their distancing preference. We are going to the gym, and

Acceptance of the dictatorial rule of China’s Communist Party and its leader Xi Jinping depends on the party’s ability to keep delivering improving material prosperity. But suddenly, there are signs that an adequate food supply is in question, raising the specter of mass hunger or even worse. Bella Huang and Amy Qin report in the New York Times:
Chinese regulators are calling out livestreamers who binge-eat for promoting excessive consumption. A school said it would bar students from applying for scholarships if their daily leftovers exceeded a set amount. The chances of President Trump getting reelected in November are looking extremely good, Newt Gingrich said Saturday night.

Following the release of recently declassified documents, Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., says he believes the FBI showed a double standard in its investigations into reports of foreign interference at the campaigns of Hillary Clinton and now-President Trump in the lead-up to the 2016 presidential election. Calling it “the ultimate double standard,” Graham said that the documents reveal that leaders at the FBI sought to give the Clinton campaign a defensive briefing before it could pursue a FISA warrant related to a threat posed to the campaign by a foreign government.

Election Day is fast approaching and the country remains as polarized as ever. Political meaning has been grafted onto every decision we make in our daily lives. To have the wrong opinion is to commit an act of violence. Refusing to take sides is just as harmful, if not more so, than picking the bad side. There is still, however, at least one upcoming event that can unite our fractured nation and bring joy to the hearts of all Americans, regardless of political persuasion. The two dozen major fires burning across Northern California were sparked by more than 12,000 lightning strikes, a freak weather occurrence that turned what had been a relatively mild fire season into a devastating catastrophe. Yet what’s driving these enormous fires is not sparks, but millions of acres of fuel: bone-dry trees and brush that haven’t burned in many years. Before the Gold Rush in 1849, large parts of California burned every few decades. Lightning fires burned for months, and native tribes burned the land, clearing out dead vegetation. But for much of the past century,(snip), firefighters have extinguished the flames (snip)allowing forests and other landscapes to become unnaturally dense.

Has President Trump just eaten Joe Biden's lunch?
Sure looks that way based on multiple indicators flashing pro-Trump signals in the wake of the Democratic National Convention. Sure, the leftist press is reporting that Biden's favorability numbers have notched up in the wake of his curiously gaffe-less convention speech, but it's thin gruel. Fact is, that's the only thing they have.
But if you look mostly on the right column of the front page of RealClearPolitics, it's pretty clear the trend is President Trump's friend. Apparently the artifice and over-processed convention infomercial, with its many technical sleights of hand (see here and here), didn't fool the voters.

New evidence suggests that former President Bill Clinton may not have been the only one in the scandalous family who’d hobnobbed with deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and his sick crew.
On Thursday, the celebrity tabloid OK! Magazine published a report claiming Clinton’s wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, had once hired the nephew of Epstein’s infamous madam, Ghislaine Maxwell, to work at the department.
“Alexander Djerassi, the son of Ghislaine’s sister Isabel Maxwell, was gifted a very powerful and prestigious position within her State Department and the US Government,” the tabloid reported, citing unnamed sources.
Note the use of the term gifted.

No, this isn’t fake news, though it is nuanced …
Updated coronavirus guidelines issued late last week by the administration of Maine Gov. Janet Mills, a pro-lockdown Democrat, require that some restaurant staff wear their face shields inverted like a dog “cone of shame.”
See potential examples, some of them clearly meant to be funny, below: [tweets]
There’s a catch, though. The policy only applies to front-of-staff restaurant employees who choose to wear a face shield in lieu of a standard coronavirus face mask.

Dr. Deborah Birx on Friday became the second member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force to endorse in-person voting in November, following immunologist Dr. Anthony Fauci’s lead last week.
“Well, I can tell you it has been safe for me to go to Starbucks and pick up my order,” Birx told Just The News after being asked about Americans casting ballots at polling stations.
Birx has been traveling the country by car and conducting informal research into how Americans have been practicing COVID-19 health guidelines such as wearing masks and socially distancing by visiting Starbucks coffee outlets.

There are many things likely to change after the COVID scare nearly decimated this country with overbearing Democrat governor lockdown mandates and trillions in wasted resources. (Snip) But this week, it’s obvious COVID has dealt a major blow to the already archaic national U.S. political conventions.
I can’t say the DNC online Zoom convention was utterly boring, although viewership declined substantially day by day and didn’t start at a high level anyway.

A California man, 81, has revealed how he spent 30 years building his 'dream house' before it was burned to ashes this week in one of the state's biggest wildfires on record. .Hank Hanson is just one of hundreds of homeowners and residents who have lost everything in the devastating blazes that continue to rip through the Golden State. He told how he and his wife fled for their lives from their home in Vacaville Wednesday morning, just moments before the LNU Lightning Complex fires destroyed it, leaving his tomato plants the only thing unscathed.'I worked on it for 30 years.

You’ve heard of the Book of Exodus, but have you heard of the other book “Exodus?”
It’s a little bit of hubris of me to write a book review for an acclaimed, award-winning book first published nearly a decade before I was born, but the modern book Exodus is something that’s no less timeless than the original, and no less significant, filled with historical and biblical analogies of the Jewish people leaving exile and coming home. It’s a page turner that if you didn’t read, you’ll want to. God is not the author of “Exodus,” but He inspired a great man, .

Tanisha Moner has had a gun pointed at her twice in her life. Once by two strangers who kidnapped, robbed, and sexually assaulted her when she was 17. And, again, by another robber as she worked a management shift at a restaurant.
The traumatic experiences left her scarred, afraid of guns, shuddering at the sound of a firework and popped balloon. That changed the day she decided to face her fears and showed up for a gun-carry class at a local range. "Succumbing to your own fear is the only thing that can stop you from doing anything you want to do," Moner told the Washington Free Beacon.

New York Rep. Elise Stefanik, a Republican who gained prominence last year for standing up to the Democrat’s failed Ukraine witch hunt and inquisition, is reportedly priming herself to deliver another round of scathing rebukes of the left at next week’s Republican National Convention.Speaking this week with New York newspaper The Daily Gazette, she revealed that she plans to use some of her scheduled prime-time speech at next week’s convention to expose the public to some hidden truths about Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden.
“Stefanik said she’ll use the slot to promote President Donald Trump and criticize Joe Biden, the Democratic presidential nominee,” the Gazette reported.

Hi everybody! Emily Litella here. Say, I’m confused. I kept hearing all week that it was the 100th anniversary of ending all-male voting. But then I keep hearing Democrats demand that we have an all-male election in November. But there are no male boxes because Trump has locked them up in cages at the border. Are male boxes just individuals with a cervix? I’m sure Joe Biden can explain the whole thing. Or at least “the thing,” that . . . you know, the thing we all know. C’mon, male! (Or is it, “C’mon man!” What if I don’t identify as. . . never mind.)

Ever wonder how we got to this point? How did a nation that defined itself with the superlatives, “land of the free and the home of the brave,” “America the Beautiful“ and “one nation under God” turn into a broken culture with no boundaries, no borders, no law, no order and no soul so fast?
How did we lurch from being the United States into a divided people so quickly?
Where did this all come from: the vitriol and vice, the anger and hatred, the looting, the riots, the destruction, the nihilistic confusion, the science-denying gender-bending sexuality, the suicidal infatuation with socialism,

It started one ordinary day, in one otherwise ordinary session: A beautiful young woman I had known for a few years wanted to cut off her breasts. (snip) So I told her. She had a long history of abuse, abandonment, and self-mutilation. Given that, I suggested, didn’t it seem like another aspect of self-hatred and rage? (snip) I urged her to take time to really consider all the ramifications (snip) For weeks afterward I found myself fighting off fears of being reported to the licensing board for not agreeing with her and realized, finally, that the whole profession had become a political platform.

Debbins, 45, allegedly provided officers with Russia’s military intelligence agency, the GRU, with classified and sensitive information from 1997 to 2011, when he served in Army Special Forces and on inactive duty with the U.S. Army Reserves.

The Democratic National Convention is over, and Democrats did not leave much to voters’ imaginations.
The party faithful were likely enlivened by the speakers who sketched out a transformative vision for the future of the country. Less ideological voters will probably appreciate the not-exactly-subtle efforts to contrast Joe Biden’s character and comportment with Donald Trump’s. The party smartly shaped much of its pitch around the pandemic, which will likely be the election’s most salient issue and one that does not favor the incumbent president.

Now that Joe Biden emerged from his basement to accept his party’s nomination for president, it’s well past time for him to remain out of hiding and open himself up to questions as the campaign enters its final stretch.Whatever one might say about President Trump, it cannot be said that he’s afraid to engage with the media. Trump, in addition to frequent speeches and other public appearances, has repeatedly offered himself up to the media to take questions, even as they remain largely hostile to his candidacy. Whether it’s in press conferences, informal gaggles from in front of the White House, or tough one-on-one sessions, Trump has made himself available.

Another riot was declared in Portland last night. I think that makes four this week. Last night the focus was the north precinct and Antifa vandalized a police car. While they were there they also vandalized a van for the Boys & Girls Club which is not part of the police bureau. A crowd of 150-200 people gathered at Irving Park at 707 Northeast Fremont Street and began marching around 9:30p.m., blocking traffic. In the march, many individuals wore protective gear including helmets, eye protection, gas masks, and body armor. Some carried homemade wooden shields.

Biden is in double-trouble: His lead falling, the race’s remaining variables are also daunting. CNN’s latest poll demonstrates the first, while a quick look at the shrinking calendar reveals the second. Increasingly, November appears to hinge on Biden’s public performance, which was the last thing Democrats wanted. CNN’s August 17 poll (taken 8/12-15, of 1,108 registered voters, MOE +/- 4 percent) showed Biden’s lead over Trump plummeting to just 50 percent to 46 percent, well within the poll’s margin of error. This is down 10 percentage points from CNN’s June poll, which had Biden leading 55 percent to 41 percent. Especially notable were Trump’s gain among Independent voters,

US intelligence agencies are sitting on a treasure trove of documents that detail Iran’s direct, material involvement in the Sept. 11, 2012, attacks in Benghazi, Libya, that cost the lives of four Americans. But until now, deep state bureaucrats have buried them under layers of classification, often without reason.
From CIA officers, military contractors, and sources within US Special Forces, I have learned of the existence of at least 50 briefing documents that warned of Iranian intelligence operations in Benghazi. Some specifically predicted an Iranian attack on US diplomats and US facilities.

Following a growing season last year filled with battering rainfall and bitter trade wars, U.S. farmers hoped 2020 would provide them an opportunity to make up some ground. Instead, the situation has grown worse for many as prices remain depressed.
Despite a wind storm tearing through Midwestern farms last week and drought conditions in isolated areas, a bumper crop of both corn and soybeans is still expected this year.
"Overall, the trade seems to be coming to the conclusion that...there is still going to be an oversupply of corn in the U.S. and the world," said Tomm Pfitzenmaier, an analyst with Des Moines, Iowa-based Summit Commodity Brokerage, in a research note Friday.

Donald Trump has warned that the surge in mail-in ballots, part of a deliberate Democrat strategy, could cause severe problems that would leave the result of the presidential election in doubt for days or weeks. Part of it is voting fraud, something Democrats and the media discount completely. Part of it is mail delays, which Democrats and the media insanely and falsely blame on Trump. The third part is invalidation of ballots which has a high rate for mail-in voting in 2020 primaries. Disregard for this purpose fraud--mail delays and fights over ballot invalidation could leave the results unknown and cause mayhem.

Joe Biden achieved no immediate bounce after the Democratic National Convention (DNC), a poll found.
Morning Consult reported that Biden went into the DNC with the support of 51 percent of likely voters. Biden ticked up only one point after the convention to 52 percent. Donald Trump remained at 43 percent in both polls.
That was in contrast to a similar poll in 2016 that found Hillary Clinton at 40 percent pre-DNC and 43 percent after. Trump experienced the reverse: 44 percent before the DNC, 40 percent after.
In 2020, only six percent of voters said they were undecided after the convention. That number was 17 percent in 2016.

Tennessee Bishop Rick Stika questioned Joe Biden’s standing as a Catholic on Friday, basing that on Biden’s public stance against Church teaching regarding abortion.
“Don’t understand how Mr. Biden can claim to be a good and faithful Catholic as he denies so much of Church teaching especially on the absolute child abuse and human rights violations of the most innocent, the not yet born,” wrote Bishop Stika on Twitter Friday.
The Catholic Church teaches that abortion is a grievous moral evil equivalent to murder, as it involves the intentional killing of an innocent unborn child. Being in full communion with the Catholic Church entails embracing its core teachings on faith and morals,

At the Democrat National Convention (DNC) this week, a convicted murderer and kidnapper implicated in a gruesome 1985 torture and killing case was featured as a “criminal justice reform advocate.” Donna Hylton, a 55-year-old Jamaican-American who was abused and molested as a child, was given a short slot in a DNC video montage where supporters of Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden recited the Preamble of the Constitution. Hylton was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison after she participated with six other people in the brutal kidnapping, torture, and murder of Long Island, New York, real estate broker Thomas Vigliarolo, 62-years-old, in 1985.
