The mother of a man fatally shot by Louisiana police said her son was intelligent, shy and had sought therapy for social anxiety. Her lawyers said they plan to sue over the death of Trayford Pellerin, who police said had a knife and was trying to enter a convenience store.
The shooting Friday night was captured on video, and the state ACLU condemned what it described as a “horrific and deadly incident of police violence against a Black person.” Both the ACLU and the Southern Poverty Law Center quickly called for an investigation.
Pellerin’s death prompted a crowd of protesters to gather Saturday and demonstrate against the latest fatal police shooting.

And since the article doesn't mention it I suspect the police officers were black too ?
If they were white the looting would have already begun.
The police were trying to stop an armed man from robbing a store. That is what they are supposed to do.

Police got to come up with a better way to bring these nut jobs down without harming them or risking harm to themselves. When I hear the person might have had mental issues, my first question is how much the person was abusing drugs and/or alcohol. Do it too much, and the mind is effected and the person cannot be reasoned with.

FTA:
On Friday night, Lafayette officers followed Pellerin, 31, on foot as he left a convenience store where he had created a disturbance with a knife, Louisiana State Police said. Stun guns failed to stop him, and the officers shot Pellerin as he tried to enter another convenience store, still with the knife, according to a news release.
“…he had created a disturbance with a knife…” and then he went on to another convenience store where he tried to enter “still with the knife”.
Tasers did not affect him. Drugged up?
Police do not have time to do a psych workup when a man is roaming into stores causing “disturbances with a knife”. The family always seems to have a zillion excuses as to why the perp should have been handled sensitively. Where was that family throughout his 31 years? Why was he allowed to roam free with a knife? Megamillionaire ambulance chasing lawyer Ben Crump is on the case. He should tell us why the family let this man down - or he destroyed himself with drugs? We know Ben. He’ll just be after the civil suit case settlement...

Zero useful information from the article from the worthless AssPress. They apparently see their job to be to obscure the news now, not provide facts.
And Ben Crump is involved.....so the lies are being written as fast as possible. If Ben Crump is involved, you can be certain that all you hear from the Enemedia are lies. SPLC....more lies. ACLU....not to be trusted. All the fraudsters circling like flies on a manure pile.
Wait for the facts. Probably like George Floyd, the facts are totally different from the media lies.
One hint is that the family says "he may have been going through a mental health crisis".....which often involves doing violent, insane, dangerous things that could get you shot.

A knife will generally get you shot. Not really complex, very predictable.

We should ALWAYS expect the LEFTIST "crowd of protesters" and "usual suspects" to perennially be ready to take advantage of ANY incident for political advantage. SPLC is the absolute WORST. Real-world solutions may be ubiquitous body cams, rubber bullets and strong pepper spray/balls in large quantity. What is the general ratio of black perps-to-all perps? ... I suspect that it's huge, but won't be reported "because RACISM." Whatever happened to "Looters will be Shot," anyway? Blame all of this rioting on Democrat officials intent on making Trump look bad ... they are willing to harm their own constituents for supposed political gain. So they lied about defending the constitution when inaugurated, adding to their endless stream of lies about so many other things. De Blasio & Lightfoot are showing you just how the LEFT works.

The way it works today with blacks is that the cops have to wait until the suspect either stabs or murders a person before they can react. They are supposed to just sit there and wait, time it for the last second, then react. And why is it that its always the black guy committing the crime, the black guy who refuses to listen to the police. If the guy listens to the police he's alive today. The sad part is that blacks today think there is no accountability for violent crimes and they take no responsibility for their actions. They, have a serious problem. Got it...

Does the ACLU's definition of constitutional liberties not extend to trial by jury before pronouncement of guilt? Crump is a pimp for hire, but the ACLU debases the concept embedded in its name by announcing a verdict. In line with their other "civil libertarian" postures, like some chapters announcing their support for the Sandinistas in the 1980's.

FTA: "The mother of a man fatally shot by Louisiana police said her son was intelligent, shy, and had sought therapy for social anxiety." Fortunately, the mother's 31 years of investment in her child is going to pay-off and she'll be set for life. This is better than hitting the Government Entitlement Racket, the Lottery, or a crack at Las Vegas gambling circuit. .....the stigma attached to these black Dysfunctional Family is sad and the Democrats, Liberal Media, and the radical organizations are playing them so well.

#2 and #19, tasers were supposed to be the magic fix - "non-lethal" was the first sales pitch. Then people started dying occasionally, so that was changed to "less lethal". And very frequently, the taser fails to do any good at all, doesn't penetrate clothing, prep pulls out the wires instantly, or is so hopped up on drugs that there is no appreciable effect.
In some cases, making the heart stop pumping is the only effect way to "stop" someone from killing someone or harming them very seriously. A knife is no joke, one thrust can be absolutely fatal if done right.
And as to the "elephant tranquilizer".....they have veterinarians there, estimate the dosage based on size, and ready to keep the animal stable.....and they lose a number of them. Tranquilizer darts are "less lethal", too.

Here we go again. Another hill on which to die. A person brandishes a knife and likely to do who knows what with it, gets killed in the process and it's everyone else's fault. All the pressure groups and rage mobs come out of the woodwork at once, ready to sue and burn baby burn. This definitely is not the Summer of George.

Not enough information known, other than that he had a knife and refused police instructions to stop. Tasers were ineffective. I'll wait to pass judgment on the police. Meanwhile, look out for new looting episodes. Christmas is coming early again this year.
