John Brennan’s long-time advisor Nick Shapiro put out a statement yesterday at the conclusion of Brennan’s eight-hour interview with John Durham and his investigators.
It might all be true. All I have are opinions on the text and circumstances.(Snip)Since when has Brennan been shy about saying anything on Twitter? Why would Brennan go “third person” and have his thoughts about the interview expressed only in the words of someone else? The most obvious reason is the statements are not going to be exactly accurate. Running them through a third person builds in a level of “deniability” on Brennan’s part. Shapiro wasn’t in the room for the

SWC explains why Shapiro spoke for Brennan in that statement. He also explains that there are only two categories: Targets or Witnesses and how those are handled. Witnesses can make themselves Targets.
John Durham and his team did not come to the decision to interview Brennan over the course of eight hours for the purpose of “filling in the blanks” on “events that are under review.”
The purpose of the interview was to get Brennan to confirm or deny information that others have provided up to this point about Brennan, and what he instructed others to do.
John Brennan was placed into a perjury trap yesterday because he’s shown himself willing to perjure himself in the past in order to evade scrutiny.
Yesterday, the ability to avoid the trap was completely within his control — all he had to do was tell the truth. For the most part, Durham’s investigators knew the truth.

Boy, it would be really nice to see JB's head on a spike. Metaphorically of course. Likewise for the rest of the bunch.

Excellent information.
I really, really hope that this is correct and that Brennan will be in prison for a long time.

Fascinating read, OP. I sincerely hope SWC is correct, and the beginning of the end of this national nightmare is approaching. God’s people are weary.

Brennan is not going to skate. He has told too many lies and done too many wrong things. He has made too many enemies.
Compared to other, more powerful figures in this coup attempt, he is definitely under-the-bus material, maybe even Arkancide, if he has the goods on them. I'm sure he values the Second Amendment right now!

I hope that the interview was held at CIA headquarters because it involved some “physical persuasion”.

I must have missed some innuendos. Exactly what would Durham plan next? I hope it's a recommendation to Barr that Brennan be prosecuted instead of this BS of "nothing to really see here" non-prosecutions and that the court jurisdiction lands up anywhere but in DC.

...so...it's an interesting explanation...but...my Take Away is :
The Republicans make every effort to obey the letter and spirit of The Law ...touch all the bases... offer benefit of the doubt...and take years to put together a "rock solid" case....which, pending elections, may never see the light of day....
..the dems, on the other hand....target and arrest and indict everyone on the "other side" that they can...looking for a weak link...that, now facing bankruptcy...or prison...or harm to his family...will flip...and say anything the dems want ....to use in their insane crusade against Trump.
...we are fighting rabid animals using Marquis Of Queensberry Rules.......

Brennan hates the President, so he can lie to anyone and everyone until he's blue in the face and we're all tired of listening, and it won't make a bit of difference. He belongs to the 0bie, Hilary get out of jail free clic.

Brennan has committed felonies far beyond perjury. We know he is a liar already.

People like John Brennan are not easy targets to prosecute, especially after they have had a lot of time to cover their butts, a process that is also called CYA. But on the other side of the coin, the Durham investigation has been ongoing for a longtime, and Brennan would not know what data and information that the investigation has uncovered, and otherwise verified, from entities and individuals, both foreign and domestic.

Brennan isn't the "head of the snake," but merely the fangs... we all know the head is Hussein.

It seems to me that the perjury trap works the best at innocent, unsuspecting people. Remember Hillary testifying and repeating 'I can't recall', 'I don't remember'? If you know you did wrong and you want to avoid copping to it, you say stuff like that.

SWC tells readers when he is writing his opinions, his speculations. His opinions and speculations are worthy because he is experienced in the law - a retired 22 year federal prosecutor. He explains here why Brennan was interviewed at CIA headquarters in Virginia rather than the DoJ office in DC.
