Teenagers arrested at Mar-a-Lago

Three teenagers are in the custody of Florida police after they were caught with an AK-47 in the wrong place at the wrong time. The 15-year-olds were reportedly sitting in a car less than two miles from President Trump's palatial club on Friday when Palm Beach Police noticed the parked Hyundai and approached the vehicle. The boys led officers on a short chase before exiting the vehicle and inadvertently fleeing through Mar-a-Lago, where they were apprehended with an AK-47 inside a backpack.

The Washington Examiner - - the mini NY Slimes - - gets a chuckle out of rambunctious teens invading Trump's property with an automatic weapon. Reminds me of the time when I was a kid and I did the exact same thing at the LBJ Ranch. What fun!

“Inadvertantly”? Hahahaha! Oh they mistook the resort for a Bubbas Bigun’s hog hunting ranch I guess. Supposed to meet their guide at the gate and figured they would go look for him. Oops wrong address our bad! Got to unload the AR and put the camo away.

Thanks for the analysis, #11, but when the details emerge I'm sure we will find that it's much worse than my little parody. We have three fifteen year olds with no obvious parental supervision, no legal drivers' licenses and in possession of a weapon that could have done a lot of damage, even with 14 rounds. Gun control is not an issue here because they didn't pass a background check and certainly didn't buy the weapon from a legal dealer.

Former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi (R) revived her role from President Trump's impeachment trial in a speech at the Republican National Convention on Tuesday, using the address to attack Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden. Bondi used her speech on the second night of the convention to lob a series of attacks at the Bidens, accusing them of nepotism when Joe Biden served as vice president in the Obama administration and seeking to turn his campaign plan to "Build Back Better" against the candidate.

House Democrats are raising concerns about possible Hatch Act violations during Tuesday night's Republican National Convention, focusing on President Trump participating in a U.S. naturalization ceremony at the White House and speeches by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. The Hatch Act prohibits employees of the executive branch from participating in politics in their official capacity. While the president and vice president are exempt from the main tenets of the Hatch Act, they remain subject to limitations of the federal law's criminal provisions, which include coercing a federal employee to participate in a political activity in support of a candidate.

It turns out Christopher Steele wasn’t 007. For years, the media assured Americans that the dossier alleging treasonous collusion between Donald Trump and Russia was based on the scrupulous work of a mastermind British ex-spy and his vast network of credible and well-connected sources spread throughout Europe. It wasn’t true. Steele did not personally collect any of the factual information in his reports. The “vast network” was instead a “social circle” of an American-based former Brookings Institute junior staffer, recently identified for the first time as Igor Danchenko.

An article by journalist and Democratic political operative Sidney Blumenthal critical of GOP Sen. Ron Johnson has been amended to remove a sentence that stated the Washington Free Beacon was involved in hiring Steele dossier author Christopher Steele, following an inquiry by Just the News. The now deleted sentence in the JustSecurity.org story reads: "Steele was in fact initially hired by the conservative website The Free Beacon and paid by Republican donor Paul Singer to help the Jeb Bush campaign." The FBI relied heavily on the now-discredited dossier by Steele, a former British intelligence officer, to get a surveillance warrant to spy on former Trump aide Carter Page.

The identification of Igor Danchenko as Steele’s subsource — reported by Real Clear Politics and then confirmed by Danchenko's lawyer to the New York Times — means Steele’s dossier relied on someone who wasn't based in Russia despite claims to the contrary by the FBI.

The NFL is preparing to end the use of military honor guards to present the American flag ahead of the national anthem, according to reports. But that’s the plan at the beginning.” It appears that there will be no flags on the field and the flag will only appear on electronic scoreboards during the playing of the national anthem, at least for the beginning of the season.

A new study published to the journal Scientific Reports suggests that moderate alcohol consumption is associated with slightly decreased brain volume. Researchers from the University of Helsinki in Finland explored the possible link within a sample of 353 Finnish men and women aged 39 to 45. On average, the subject group reported moderate alcohol consumption, indicated by an AUDIT-C score of 3.92.
