off 'ladder of success'

Billionaire Oprah Winfrey says it’s important for Americans to realize that “the system of White people” continues to keep Black citizens off “the ladder of success.” The media mogul made the comments July 31 on her Apple TV+ show “The Oprah Conversation,” which included former NFL linebacker Emmanuel Acho. Ms. Winfrey titled the episode “Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man: Part 1,” in honor of the ex-athlete’s YouTube conversations under the same banner. “I’ve created this for you because in order to stand with us and people that look like me, you have to be educated on issues that pertain to me and

Somebody - please wake me up. I keep having the same nightmares. A twice elected bLACK president, and Winfrey says whitey is the problem.

She should know---it certainly kept HER down. And incidentally one of the things I find most appalling about the Oprah Brigade is that it consists almost (from what I can see of her audiences etc.) of white middle class or slightly above women. Ditto that idiot magazine! Virtue signaling like mad!!!! the lot of them.

Not a shred of evidence to support this assertion. I suspect that Oprah cannot cite a single example of a system of white people who kept a black individual off the ladder of success.

Google, Microsoft, IBM are all headed by first generation Indian immigrants. They are not white, nor are they Christian. And they are not exceptions. There is a large pyramid of overachievers and successful executives, businessmen and professionals behind them Children of black Caribbean families routinely outperform American blacks. Oprah is full of s***.

Meanwhile in the country with more black million and billionaires than any other country on Earth... Oprah started with little to nothing and is now one of the wealthiest people on the planet. Where exactly did oppressive racism hinder her ascent? I would like to see how she would have done in say Zimbabwe. Race hustlers gotta keep the pawns distracted so they don't notice the real conflict isn't race at all.

How did Winfrey succeed so well if the deck is so stacked against black folks. Ditto Obama. Ditto Herman Cain. Ditto lots of folks. Are there disadvantages for black folks? Sure. But others have disadvantages as well. What about the straight white Christian male who is the most qualified for a job but loses it to the lesbian black Muslim with a limp -- but who doesn't know jack?!

Well, she has a point -- the Democrat party was started to keep certain whites in power, on the backs of blacks and poor whites. The criminal enterprise that is the Democrat Party has expanded to include certain overseerer blacks, like Oprah and Obama, but, in general, she's right -- but not for the reasons she espouses.

Nice to know some things don't change. Oprah is still stuffed full of manure and BS. She still refuses to admit it was the white women of this nation who put her on the top of the ladder she is saying blacks can't access. One rule in this nation for every citizen that has never changed. Anybody can be successful if they put their minds to it, and make the effort. Until Oprah helps abolish the mindset of 'education is acting white' in those inner cities, the black community is going to languish where they are. It is called the American Dream Oprah, and if you would stop with the racism, and start helping people in this nation, you might do some good for a change. Would help her community a lot if she would join Kanye in getting off the plantation known as the democrat party. For they are the mother ship of most of the misery that the black community she speaks for is suffering in. Another good question for her would be, why does she support abortion, which has destroyed at least 20-30 million unborn black babies since it was made the law of the land?

I have some uncomfortable questions: Why is it so hard for the black community to understand that having children out of wedlock is a bad idea? Why isn't it considered a problem to have children when you are barely into your teens? I continue, why is participating in your own education considered being "white"? Why don't you understand that school is not free babysitting and there is so much more to school than the "free" food? Welfare is not a life choice. Get a job, any job, and work your way up, further your education, look for a better job. Hanging with people who drink too much, use and or sell drugs, steal, carry guns and generally live a dangerous life are not your friends. Why do you accept blacks killing other blacks including way to many children/babies? We all know that the biggest threat to a black person is another black person, not a cop of any color or white people in general. Aunt Jemima is not the problem, the problem is too many blacks cannot read and follow the recipe on the box (reading is a white thing, don't you know). Why doesn't it bother you that colleges are now saying that proper English is now considered racist? So are you not smart enough to learn proper English or just to lazy? Yeah, I have uncomfortable questions too.

It's not that whites are so privileged - it's just all those 'white' things we do that leads to success. Y'all hate acting white. If you come up with a better formula, go ahead. Oprah dear it is all about attitude and behavior. You tried empowering young Black women through special schooling In America and it was a sad and utter failure. So much so you moved your “benevolence” to Africa. Whites have absolutely nothing to do with the poor decisions made by Blacks and bear no responsibility for their apparent lack of achievement. It is not “too White” to study, to work hard and compete for opportunities. Then show up, do the job and enjoy the fruits of YOUR labor, not someone else’s.

The African American community should look into their school systems and their educators. Make sure your teachers are the best so that when your children graduate high school they know how to write and speak well and do math. English should be taught as a subject starting in the second grade. If some educators believe that simple English is some kind of a white supremacy thing, they should listen to Oprah speak. She does not speak "ebonics"; I think that is what some call African-American English. Ben Carson was raised by a single mother in public housing and is world-renown brain surgeon and a wonderful husband and father. I also believe he and his mom are practicing Christians. Oprah should stop blaming everything on someone else and start with the schools.

I taught black students most of which were wonderful individuals. Two, however really fought being in school to learn in all of their classes. The first said "studying was for whites" and the second said both of his parents (who lived separately) "always received monthly checks and he would too, so he would never need a job." If Oprah would try to eliminate those mindsets instead of teaching victimhood it would help. Blacks have and are given opportunities, sometimes they just don't realize them.

She made her billions while in Chicago, a very segregated city, which is dominated by liberal democrats, and Ward bosses who essentially have their own fiefdom, a city oozing of patronage. Thus, it's likely nearly all of those she's referring to are white, liberal democrats. Look around at Minneapolis, Portland, Seattle and other cities with "very liberal democrats", and you can see who's keeping black americans off the ladder of success, Oprah. Generally speaking, education is the key to success, along with hard work, and determination. With most African-American communities polling over 65% for school choice, but the education establishment rejecting this option. Oprah, if you really want change, and improvement, you should stop supporting the white liberal democrats and give Republicans a chance for the next decade. I'll bet you see more improvement, and not just talk that's been coming out of democrats for the last 55 years.

Men siring multiple babies and fooling around. No real family unit. Broken homes. Children raising children. Children with no parents, and gangs becoming parents. Drug addiction and alcohol addiction to the point that it leads to brain damage where people cannot think straight. Cannot get an education. Cannot hold a job. Neighborhoods with sky high crime that are systemically destroyed by their residents. Whitey never told blacks to behave like this so stop blaming whitey. It's not a "White" system. It's a "successful" system, the best in history, and available for any who choose to participate and rewards those who participate. And we KNOW it is not race based because there are far too many Black multi millionaires and those of other races to support that claim. Now, no one needs to participate but if they choose not to, they get no rewards either. THAT is the complaint of the Socialists. They want rewards for no effort. They think that getting an education is "acting White". They think that having a work ethic and acting respectfully is "acting White". So, they don't "act White" and they fail.

An illegal alien, allowed to remain in the United States on President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, purchased beer while already intoxicated an hour before causing a crash that killed four former and current law enforcement officers, police say. Ivan Robles Navejas, a 28-year-old illegal alien from Mexico, was arrested and charged last month by the Kerr County, Texas Sheriff’s Office on six counts of intoxication assault with a vehicle and three counts of intoxicated vehicular manslaughter. According to police, Navejas was drunk-driving when he hit and killed four members of the Thin Blue Line motorcycle club — a group of active duty

The last couple of weeks have been frustrating for the sizable chunk of Trump’s base who think lockdowns, untargeted social distancing, and forcing everyone to wear masks are neither effective nor necessary responses to COVID-19 and, in fact, are a much greater menace than the virus itself. They believe we ought to finally start listening to the thousands of doctors and scientists that the drive-by media have gone out of their way to silence instead of blindly following the dictates of life-long bureaucrats who’ve been puffed up, pushed, and placed on a pedestal by professional purveyors of fake news like Jake Tapper and Chris Cuomo. BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Gun laws are once again a topic ahead of the elections, with Brevard County approving a resolution in hopes to change concealed weapons laws. The resolution aims to support the expansion of “lawful statewide open carry of firearms.” As District 2 Commissioner Bryan Lober explained, the outline of a gun is enough to alarm someone, so he wants guns out in the open. “If I’m carrying a concealed weapons, I don't want everyone under the sun to see the outline of a gun because, they may figure that the person is hiding something — a reason for concealing the gun,”

Presidential candidate Joe Biden (D) released a video on Wednesday featuring himself revving a hunter green Corvette Stingray — an American classic — while promising to move the country to electric vehicles. “I like to drive. I used to think I was a pretty good driver,” Biden said in the video showing the presidential hopeful revving up the engine with a mask on. “I didn’t get a chance to flat-shift into second. I was afraid I’d go through those guys,” he said, laughing. The video then showed Biden opening the hood of the car and reminiscing over his “incredible memories” associated with the vehicle.

Darrius Sutton, 23, was initially arrested in connection with a May 16 shooting in the courtyard of an East New York building that left a man seriously injured. Despite the attempted-murder rap, Sutton was set free without bail the same day of his May 20 arrest. The Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office said the lone witness in the case recanted.

Democrat Senator Mazie Hirono got triggered after Republican Senator Ted Cruz pressed her to condemn Antifa violence. Not only did Hirono refuse to disavow the left-wing savagery, but she walked out of Cruz’s Antifa hearing in a huff. Hirono’s refusal to denounce the Antifa riots, looting, arson, and assaults is like the ostrich that buries its head in the sand, hoping this nullifies reality. Hirono walked out after a testy exchange with Cruz, who was chairing a Senate hearing on the role that Antifa and Black Lives Matter extremists are playing in the alarming escalation of violence around the country. Cruz slammed Democrats for not condemning Antifa riots, during

The media lives on conflict, not knowledge or common sense or even intellect, just conflict. They know conflict sells even if the conflict is imaginary. Imaginary? Yes, imaginary. It is no secret but public knowledge that Kamala Harris slept her way up into California political life by being a very public escort and mattress for California Democrat Kingmaker Willie Brown. Willie Brown is 30 years older than Harris and was very married at the time. It was public. It was an embarrassment. With Joe Biden’s photo metaphorically the definition of the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, voters will decide in November whether they want Harris to be their president some time in the next four years. Of almost equally significant concern is what Harris represents to hard-working women across the country who devote years to their careers

President Trump continues to be his own worst enemy: On Thursday, he stooped to calling presumptive vice-presidential nominee Kamala Harris a “mad woman.” That doesn’t promote his agenda. It doesn’t help him with women. It doesn’t shore up his image as worthy of the nation’s highest office. It’s just, as Trump would say, mean and nasty. Sure, Harris isn’t the first target of Trump’s ad hominem attacks or over-the-top language. But making everything personal is unbecoming. It turns off voters who like his policies but dislike his rhetoric.

Yet there is at present little evidence that "severe side effects" are common in COVID-19 patients who take hydroxychloroquine, with the majority of reported adverse events being relatively mild and only a small fraction of reported effects so far being dangerous and/or fatal.

Federal charging documents against Kevin Clinesmith, the top FBI attorney who was expected to plead guilty today to altering documents, show that the FBI withheld in three separate spying applications the fact that Page had served as an “operational contact” who helped an agency believed to be the CIA investigate suspected Russian intelligence figures for five years. For the fourth application, the agency didn’t just hide that fact,
