Two bullet-ridden bodies lay sprawled on bloodstained concrete steps. Alongside, relatives of the victims are wailing and collapse to the ground. In another part of the city, a gang of youths use spray paint to disable security cameras before robbing a corner store. Later, video footage captures police officers sitting helplessly in their patrol car as a baying crowd hurls glass bottles at them. This is lawless New York – a city that was once America’s glittering crown jewel but which risks descending into mob rule.Murder figures have skyrocketed and a combination of the coronavirus pandemic, Black Lives Matter (BLM) protests and weak political leadership is in danger of achieving

Cry me a river. Don't come whining to us when its you leftist tools that voted for Comrade deBlabbio and his liberal dog and pony show. You get what you voted for, buttercups. So suck it up and don't move out where you can bring your lunatic fringe politics with you and mess up some other place. NYC was a cesspool 36 years ago when I was there, and its only gotten worse. I do feel for the cops trying to do their jobs, but lets face facts: if you don't have the support of those that write your check, better to get out and find greener pastures.

"...could descend into mob rule..." Could? Watching the news the other night, there were scenes of a mob rampaging in front of City Hall (if i recall correctly) and the reporter said there were about 800 people involved. Eight hundred in a city of more than 8 million people. This is what will happen to Minneapolis real soon. Extortionists, protection rackets, organized crime gangs offering "protection" (but not from themselves). The Hegelian precept holds, that without governments, life is "nasty, brutish and short." A year ago or so an oldies tv channel was playing "Kojak" episodes. These were filmed in the mid-seventies. The city was dirty, sleazy and violent, on screen and in reality. I'm guessing that was a period of time when a lot of city dwellers escaped to places like western Massachusetts and Vermont and promptly turned them liberal. They need to FIX their own nest before they go and foul up everyone else's. True enough, it's hard to fix stupid, and even harder for stupid to fix itself.

This could have been avoided with a show of force in the beginning. You put a small fire out quickly before it spreads but these Dim Mayors rolled the dice in stupidly, politics or just liberal insanity and now we have to toothpaste out and a real dilemma to put it back in. Speaking for myself I'm done spending any money in this third world S&%t hole.

New York, like most big cities in America, has been destroyed by corruption and liberal politics, which go hand in hand. Now these same voters want to move on to the next place and do the same thing. They don’t learn anything and they are blind to the root causes. It is the definition of insanity.

I’m shocked that the left wing anti-American Daily Mail printed this. It’s a perfect campaign ad for PDT. Look at the idiots protesting at city hall - only a couple of them are wearing masks which cover their noses. If what the CDC says is remotely true (and I don’t believe a word they say) those protesters might as well be swapping spit. At this point, me greatest wish for NYC is that our beloved hostess, Lucianne, gets out of there.

I have zero sympathy for the city where I happily grew up. They wanted communist Warren Wilhelm to be their mayor - - elected him twice - - and they wanted leftist lunatics on their City Council - - and by God they got them! I grew up in middle class Italian-Jewish-Irish-Polish-Puerto Rican Brooklyn. Nearly all of those hard-working, tight families are gone now - - replaced by God-knows-what - - because I no longer care. It's a shame to watch this happen - - but the worst part is that leftist voters will learn NOTHING from this. They will continue to live in their delusional world - - and keep electing the same creeps who are destroying them.

New York was never a "crown jewel" but it was a tolerable place to visit, have dinner and sightsee, especially around the Christmas season. It has always had homeless, winos, drug addicts and areas where whites dare not go. Now it's completely trashed.

It's not just people from New York, but people from New Jersey as well. For months while driving on I-95 the number of cars with New York and New Jersey plates heading south has been incredible. Normally, one would see a uptick of plates from those states in the winter months heading to Florida for the warmer weather. But starting in April, when the snowbirds usually start heading back north, the number of vehicles heading south from those states kept increasing.

Then occasional deadly attacks on the weakest. And the herds reassemble quickly and much away while the predators are momentarily sated. Until the next attack. Life on the NYC savannas. Its not just NYC. The rest of the state is slowly following NYC's lead. People are voting with their feet. Its not just liberals leaving New York, but also Conservatives who are realizing they have no voice and are now being harassed by assorted lefties. For example, there is a Nextdoor blog for the NY community I live it, and sadly it became politicized. Somehow, messages from Andrew Cuomo started appearing on it. Naturally some Conservatives took exception to what he was saying, and now they are being flamed whenever they post something on Nextdoor. It really is harassment. I live in New York, but winter in Florida. Traveled to Florida last September, and haven't been back. I have postponed my return trip twice thanks to boneheaded CV19 restrictions on both ends.

Escape from New York, the "home edition"....right in your home if you live there. I have always been uncomfortable in NYC, since the first time I visited in the 60s, always thought it was a bit like visiting some museum of odd, abnormal pathologies. It never felt to me like any real place and certainly not a place I wanted to stay. Certain things were good...interesting architecture in some buildings, some good restaurants, but it was always sleazy, and always corrupt feeling, with the threat of personal harm just barely suppressed at any point in time. And seeing those city streets shown thousands of times in TV shows and movies in real life was as more like visiting a giant movie set than any place people would actually live, or want to live. NYC has always been kinda creepy, artificial to me, never a place I could relax and enjoy.

Last year all large buildings has scaffolding in front of their entrances giving the city a construction site look. We stayed at the Trump Hotel, sans scaffolding, and a spectacular view of Columbus Circle and Central Park. President Trump was right about moving to Florida. The New York City Board of Elections is blaming a vendor for an egregious error on absentee ballots mailed to voters in Brooklyn that could cause their votes to be thrown out–even if they follow the rules to the letter. The reason is that the absentee ballots were sent out with return envelopes that were mismatched and bear the names and addresses of other voters so that if the person signs the envelope with their own name it won’t be counted as the signature would not match the name on the mistakenly sent return envelope.

Steve Mnuchin and the GOP are said to be open to talks on the Democrats' new $2.2trillion COVID package that includes a second round of $1,200 stimulus checks, $600 in extra unemployment and $225billion for schools. The scaled back, last ditch proposal represents a cutback from a $3.4 billion bill that passed the House in May, but remains well above what Senate Republicans had been willing to accept. Republicans have endorsed staying in the $650 billion to $1 trillion range. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told her fellow Democrats Monday that the proposal will 'protect lives, livelihoods, and the life of our democracy over the coming months'.

Is anyone really surprised that Donald Trump’s tax affairs are opaque? Or that he is not as rich as he claims? Is it really all that horrifying that he has for years claimed business losses in order to offset his significant income tax liability? Does it appall us that the Trump family used a Delaware-based consulting group to pay themselves? Of course not. The New York Times’s big Trump tax files splash on Sunday is therefore something of a flop. It is well-timed — an election is fast-approaching and the story might give Biden a good attack line in the big TV debate on Tuesday night.

Kendi, a Boston University professor.‘Some White colonizers “adopted” Black children,’ Kendi wrote on Twitter.‘They “civilized” these “savage” children in the “superior” ways of White people while using them as props

During remarks on Sunday, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden accused Republicans of engaging in an “abuse of power” for moving forward to fill the Supreme Court vacancy left by the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg before election day, emphasizing that early voting has already started in some states.“U.S. Constitution provides one chance — one — for the Americans to have their voices heard on who serves a lifetime appointment on the Supreme Court, who makes those big decisions about their healthcare, their civil rights, and much else,” said Biden.“That chance is now. That moment is now.

More than two-thirds of Britons believe that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex should have their titles taken away from them after they stepped down from royal life, a new survey suggests. The study for Tatler magazine also showed that the majority of participants believe Meghan Markle, who is an American citizen, should not be commenting on US politics. The poll, which was gathered last month by research consultancy Savanta Comres, polled 4,174 British adults and only included results from those who expressed an opinion when questioned.

Jill Biden, wife of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, waved off a question about her husband’s frequent gaffes from CNN’s Jake Tapper during a segment Monday, informing him he “can’t go there.”“Your husband has been known to make the occasional gaffe,” Tapper began, before being cut off. (Video) “Oh, you cannot even go there,” Jill Biden responded, as Tapper chuckled. “After Donald Trump you cannot even say the word ‘gaffe.’” (Tweet/Video) “Well, that’s what I wanted…I can’t even say the word ‘gaffe’?” Tapper responded.“Nope. Done. It’s gone,” Jill Biden interjected. “The gaffe issue is over,” Tapper pressed.“Over. So over,” Jill Biden declared.

Apparently, nothing is sacred with Meghan Markle and her man-on-the-string, Prince Harry. After telling us how privacy-obsessed they were, with Harry weeping sob stories about his mom and the papparazzi, and even suing some media companies for their intrusions, as well as leaving their high-vis rented mansion in the Hollywood Hills for more sedate (but pricier) Montecito, they've now decided to go full frontal, back for the cameras, making themselves the stars of some reality TV. No kidding, it's a project with Netflix cameras following them around. Seems they like themselves those cameras. According to the Daily Mail:

Chris Wallace, the host of “Fox News Sunday” and moderator of the first presidential debate between President Trump and Joe Biden, said that he hopes to remain as “invisible as possible” during their faceoff on Tuesday in Cleveland, Ohio. “I’m trying to get them to engage…to focus on the key issues…to give people at home a sense of why they want to vote for one versus the other,” he said. “If I’ve done my job right, at the end of the night, people will say, ‘That was a great debate, who was the moderator?’”

Chris Wallace, the moderator of the first presidential debate Tuesday night, insists he will try to remain “as invisible as possible.” That would certainly be a welcome change from his performance in the final 2016 debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. A lot of Democrats no doubt assume Wallace will go too easy on the president simply because he hosts a talking-heads show for the “conservative” Fox News network. But Wallace is not an admirer of Trump. Nor is he above gotcha questions and phony “fact checks.” It was Wallace, you will probably recall, who pompously lectured Trump as follows during that last 2016 debate:

The release of a joint report by the Senate committees on homeland security and finance raised important questions about obviously unethical foreign profiteering by members of the Biden family. In particular, former Vice President Joe Biden’s ne’er-do-well son Hunter received a remarkable amount of money from highly suspect foreign entities, including ones controlled by the Chinese government. On at least one occasion, the elder Biden appears to have directly facilitated his son’s tawdry dealings. On another, the current Democratic presidential nominee ignored an obvious appearance of a conflict of interest that compromised the moral authority of U.S. diplomacy.

The New York Times is undoubtedly pleased that it published more than two decades’ worth of Donald Trump’s tax returns. The self-congratulations are premature. The Times’ article reveals that Trump was telling the truth all along about his audit. We can also see that Obama’s policies benefitted rich people. Finally, because the policies show how our complicated progressive tax system will always benefit rich people with good accountants, the Times unwittingly advanced the argument for a flat tax.

Rejecting concerns from doctors and parents, Gov. Gavin Newsom celebrated the signing of a bill that allows gender clinics to provide transgender drugs and surgery known to sterilize children and adults. Newsom praised the new law for “strengthening protections for LGBTQ+ Californians” and providing an “additional step forward” in “our march towards equality,” in an announcement over the weekend. “Governor Newsom is ignoring the heartbreak his policies will unleash,” said Jonathan Keller, President of California Family Council. “AB 2218 opens the door to drugs and surgeries causing irreversible damage, risking life-long sterility for young people.”

It was two weeks before anyone spoke of the hay bales. This was odd, said Rachel Rowland, of Flint Hill, Va. — because the locals had certainly seen them: The display is 170 feet wide. Wrapped in glinting white plastic, the bales are stacked atop a rolling mountain hillside along Route 211, relaying their message to any nearby resident who drives to the closest grocery store. “Farmers for Trump 2020,” the bales say, hand-painted with red and blue capital letters. “Keep America Great.”
