Amid a new outbreak of the coronavirus, California's Gavin Newsom was adamant that no firework celebrations be done on the Fourth of July, because the public simply could not be trusted to socially distance.
Addressing the counties on California's watchlist, he explained, "We have worked with those counties, the 19 counties that are mandatory closure lists and we have made it clear privately- now we're making it more abundantly clear publicly- that we believe that they should consider canceling some of their fireworks shows

You don't have to go to Ca. to have seen this. There is an electronic flashing road sign on a local main artery here in upstate NYS stating massive fines for using fireworks. So, yesterday, from noon until 3 A.M. guess what. Yes , you are correct. I don't have to elucidate. I am sure the police had nothing better to do than run all over the city arresting offenders. (They were busy with the shootings and accidents ).

Californians have renamed him Nuck Fewsome. Seems appropriate as to how everyone here feels about him. I just found out Nuck is Nancy Pelosi’s nephew. Surprised?

In our part of LA County, the boom-boom of big fireworks near us went on for almost an hour around 9:30.

Ive lived in the same S.E. Georgia community since 2004, and I've never witnessed fireworks here like I did yesterday. It was a non-stop barrage from about 7pm until just before midnight. And I'm not talking bottle rockets. Here in GA we can buy mortars, and the sky in all directions was lit up. I'm also of the opinion that there were a few with commercial grade fireworks as well.
What we say yesterday, whether the media wants to admit it or not, was the beginnings of the silent majority not being so silent any longer.

If other places are like my neighborhood, because cities and counties (including military bases) did not provide fireworks shows for the public and vacationing is limited, more people were at home, and more people were lighting things up. The pyrotechnics in my neighborhood were bomb!

I live in the SF Bay Area. I stood outside on our street with my grandchildren and watched the displays of fireworks all around us. Great fun!

Re #2, more like a former shirttail relative on Pelosi’s husband’s side. Newsom's aunt was married to Ron Pelosi, Nancy’s husband’s brother. They divorced.
That said, San Francisco is a very incestuous place. As I’ve said before, the rest of California - especially the southern part, view SF as a foreign country.

Fines for fireworks but a ‘get out of jail free’ for looting and arson. The two Bimbette newscasters have their panties in a twist warning people about the law.

Big displays and mortars are illegal here in Maryland, but they sure came from somewhere.
I was surrounded by the displays of illegal fireworks.
It was a great evening.

They were all around us last night too here just outside Charleston, SC. We have a greyhound who freaks at thunder and other loud noises and we gave her twice the usual dose of Xanax that she gets for storms. She can have either one or two mgs. Last night we gave her two.

From what I can gather this went on all over the country last night.
And all I could think of was, to paraphrase GW Bush, you will hear all of us soon!
We’ve been silently screaming at the top of our lungs.

You can't buy fireworks in IL but based on what we saw last night, people in this state have flocked to WI and IN in recent weeks. Fireworks began at dusk and continued all night long, it was great.

South portion of San Diego County checking in...it was great! LOL. We lit up sparklers in our yard. My nutty lib sister in Sonoma County (north of San Fran) lamented on Facebook that it was the first time in 25 years her husband didn’t go out in their street and set some off...idiots. She wouldn’t comment on my “life liberty and the pursuit of freaking fireworks” post, either...LOL. Such a good little lib. What pathetic lives they lead. Suck on it, Gov Gruesome!

My town in Colorado cancelled its fireworks display and reminded everyone how aerial explosives were illegal in the city limits. No one paid attention. People have been setting off fireworks for the past week. I've never seen impromptu fireworks like I saw last night. In past years, we could see several municipal displays (one particularly close) , so no one in my neighborhood set off their own. Last night was a dazzling exception. The neighborhood was like a war zone. We sat outside from 7:30 on watching big rockets go off all around us. They continued until around midnight. Made me proud that so many of my fellow citizens gave the figurative finger to the Karens in our government.

I was at a nearby lake last night here in Texas where there have been some pretty impressive private fireworks displays over the years. But last night beat them all! While there are no restrictions on fireworks here (except for burn bans which don't usually affect lake property), people seem to have been venting their feelings against the lockdowns and attacks to our freedom. Plus, the rental cabin next door had about 12 people there, and they were NOT social distancing, NOT wearing masks, and congretating in too large a crowd per the Abbott Idiot.
We watched fireworks until 11 p.m., and then things began to calm down. They must have shot off everything they had and then made another trip to the fireworks stand to stock up on sale items because about 20 minutes later, it started all over again and went on till around 1 a.m.
This gives me hope: Maybe, just maybe, the majority of Americans are taking this opportunity to loudly and brightly tell our government nannies to SHOVE IT! And perhaps they won't forget come November either!

Same here in Fairfield County. I won't say what town, but fireworks all night until I fell asleep. My neighbor did call the police on one of the teenagers a few years ago, he bought some in one of the Carolina's and gave us a show. The police came, sat in their cruiser and watched the fireworks for a while and drove on. She never called again as far as I know. If she has, they haven't responded.
