A social media campaign aimed at holding a nationwide economic boycott in the wake of George Floyd’s death has sparked a counter-movement. The #BlackOutDay2020 boycott, set for July 7, initially called for people to only shop at black-owned businesses, but has now become a call for a shopping boycott for one day. Critics of the move and of weeks of Black Lives Matter protests are responding with suggestions for a shopping spree, instead. I have a question. What use is a federal government that refuses to protect our basic constitutional rights? Twitter and Google and Facebook are censoring and demonizing conservative political speech, and nobody does a thing. Democrat mayors and governors are bankrupting American citizens by preventing them from engaging in simple commerce, and they're getting away with it. Street mobs across America are causing millions of dollars in property damage, destroying priceless historical monuments; killing police officers; and targeting random, unlucky citizens based on the color of their skin, and the press cheerlead the madness and defend the murderers and arsonists as heroes.

Over the past two weeks, Republican Senator Tim Scott, a black man from South Carolina, extended the olive branch of bipartisanship to Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on police reform. On June 17, Scott introduced the JUSTICE Act as a way to tackle what he believes are needed reforms in cities across the country. He quickly gained 50 co-sponsors and opened the door to the "conversation" Democrats regularly claim America needs to have about race, communities and policing. But it turns out, the talking points about "having a conversation" weren't stated in good faith.

Breathes there a citizen of this great republic who believes that the most pressing problem in America today is that Washington, D.C., and its denizens simply do not have enough influence on the national government? To listen to House Democrats, you would think so. But this is actually about simple partisanship. The District of Columbia — our national capital district, named for Christopher Columbus — has only once in its history, barely in 1972, given 20 percent of its presidential vote to a Republican. Its local government has been wholly dominated by the Democratic Party for all of living memory. Agitation for D.C. statehood

MINNEAPOLIS — At first, it sounded like fireworks, a loud crackling noise that has become the daily soundtrack of the city in recent weeks. But when David Trueblood, a coach for the Minnesota Jays youth football team, felt a bullet go whizzing by his head and heard the rapid pings of metal spray across a fence in Jordan Park, he screamed for his players, 50 kids aged 5 to 14, to hit the ground. As gunfire rang out early Monday evening here on the city’s north side, Trueblood and six other coaches threw their bodies atop as many children as they could. Frantic parents took cover behind cars,

Right now the polling looks grim for President Trump, but the Democrats aren’t taking any chances. Much as the Russia hoax was their “insurance policy” in 2016, voter fraud is their ace in the hole this year. In recent cycles voter fraud has been institutionalized as part of the Democrats’ electoral strategy, but now it is being elevated to a new high. Or low. The current drive, in many states, for voting by mail is simply an attempt to facilitate fraud by causing millions of ballots to be mailed out to non-existent, dead, moved or unqualified voters.

No special privileges for devotional wokery. There were two separate issues here united by a common question: Did New York apply a double standard to religious gatherings in setting social distancing rules?
