An Amazon.com delivery driver in Long Island, New York, was told to abandon his van and call 911 in the event of looting and avoid “high crime” areas. A driver in Chicago encountered a heavy police presence and road closures. In Washington, another driver canceled his shifts for the week after seeing video of an Amazon van in Santa Monica, California, being looted in broad daylight. The thousands of drivers who deliver Amazon packages around the U.S. are adjusting to civil unrest that has prompted curfews and road closures aimed at quelling riots and looting. Ride with a "shotgun" like stagecoaches did.

Time for someone to ride "shotgun" on these modern-day Wells Fargo stagecoaches and I'm volunteering for the first shift. And I'm bringing all the weapons, will train the driver as my backup and doing it all pro bono.
Hey, Jeff Bezos, you got the cojones to authorize it, I got the cojones to do it.

My iPhone camera has zero difficulty picking faces out of the background. Maybe use it to automate a couple of shotguns to point their way? On live streaming of course!

That is a reasonable fear right now...

My last 2 Amazon deliveries by their contract drivers NEVER made it here. They took photos - not our front door, not our neighborhood. Had to FIGHT w Amazon to get refunds. They actually suggested I walk the neighborhood and look at door fronts for MY packages!!! I blew up and destroyed them. Emails went flying. Got refunds after making so much noise and showing photos of our real front door. What happened? Driver took both packages, and some others on his way during his route those days. Happened to be same driver. So he stole from Amazon and the customers. They defended it as if it would show up, somehow, and I just had to give it time! NOT items over $100 each.
So now....any orders from Amazon - infrequent as I go directly TO the manufacturer or storefront site itself, if they are still open - all orders from them are FORCED thru USPS to our actual mailing address, which is a large PO Box up the road. No more deliveries to home. I will wait in line for package - but now, Amazon just does not get their drivers to deliver here - you have thieves or worse, hugely stressed drivers who are not cut out for millisecond monitoring. I am finished w Amazon in-house delivery. Please join me in this. No real background check on their drivers in this post CV world either. Suggesting I go SEARCH for my OWN package that they MISSED delivery one - and found out driver actually stole - uh, that is not customer service. To the direct manufacturer only or to USPS. No delivery drivers ever again.

They need tail gunners just like Budweiser trucks in Detroit.

Amazon drivers take heart.
We will be fitting your van's wheels with scythes, ala "Gladiator" (the chariot race).
Further, anyone who are already owns an AR-15 or "Streetsweeper", you are slotted for fast-track insurance liability training if you's like to sign up for it.
And don't forget: He who brings an "attitude" to a truck fight... loses every time (assuming the gas pedal and brakes aren't used improperly)

It really is a serious problem and I feel for the Amazon drivers and all the other GOOD people of NYC. But De Blasio needs handcuffed, arrested, and jailed for failure to protect the public - jailed without bail!

Wally World closed down in upstate NY on Sunday because tractor trailer drivers were scared for their lives. Warehouse workers had nothing to do since there was no incoming goods to parcel out to stores. Enough is enough. Arrest all these BLM & Antifa terrorists and jail them for the max 20 years with absolutely NO getting out for good behavior. Then start on demonrats in Congress who carve out money for those subversive organizations in every single funding bill.

Also, look for the Post Office to be greatly expanded by the demonrats as a way to close even more actual store fronts so Amazon and places like them who are demonrat run get all the money. A recent employee who just retired said she was sick of being stressed out from all the internet purchases, that it was like Christmas deliveries for months on end.

DeBlasio is not afraid. All 500 of the ones arrested night before last were released w/o bail yesterday.

Still very happy I moved to a rural area a few years ago. If any of the outside anarchists show up here they will find well armed victims.

Yep. The hip, urban lifestyle doesn't look so good now, does it? Viruses, rioters, destroyed business, mayors who won't protect the citizens...
It was just recently that the liberal environmental gurus were advocating a total urban lifestyle for everyone, so that rural areas could return to nature. Mass transit, to reduce the number of cars. Soviet style apartment blocks to house all the good little comrades. Lots of rules and regulations to manage the sardine can living. More liberal utopia for everyone!

Good advice in the first line. essentially abandon your truck, call 9-1-1 and wait for the police.
I would add, and hope the police station hasn't been abandoned too, and burned to the ground.

I wonder if that Fed-ex driver is ok. I also hope that these drivers are not being told to stop their vehicles when impeded by these thugs. Make speed bumps.

I notice lately that businesses near my home offer to receive Amazon pkgs for pick up later if you'll be away. When did that start? I can't decide if I want to give in to all this crap. I wasn't all that ''ate up'' with Amazon to begin with.

Looks like Ol' Jeff Bezos is going to have to vastly expand his aerial Drone delivery fleet... And build twice as many aerial drone gunships so that two of them can accompany each delivery drone.
On the other hand...... That's how you get SKYNET.

Maybe liberals will finally get upset about the widespread violence if their Amazon goodies are burned to a crisp.
