A generation of Democrats is haunted by the party’s infamous 1968 convention in Chicago. After one of the most tumultuous presidential primaries in US history—in which the incumbent Lyndon Johnson withdrew from the race, in which Bobby Kennedy built a multiracial working-class coalition before he was shot and killed, and in which the young college students and activists of the New Left rallied behind Eugene McCarthy, all against the backdrop of urban riots, Vietnam, and a breakaway segregationist faction—the Democratic establishment chose to nominate Johnson’s vice president, Hubert Humphrey, to maintain its control over the party. We need to keep Plugs out there at least until the dim convention in order to showcase old age and feeblemindedness at its best.

that's why the Dems are so desperately trying to federalize and rewrite election laws to ensure that they will win regardless.

The Democrat's dirty little secret is they don't have any good candidates. They are terrible on issues. They pander so much none of them ever achieved a high level of appeal. Biden, Sanders, Warren, Bloomberg, and the rest were all terrible choices. There isn't anyone to save them either so forget Hillary, Michelle, and Andrew.

FTA," Unlike Humphrey, Biden can claim to have been chosen by voters, not by party insiders in smoke-filled rooms." Really? Voters decided? When the race was stopped to stop Sanders having a chance? Seems the party bullies stopped the voting to enshrine Biden. Honestly, this makes twice in a row the party elders, the established Dem leaders, have picked the nominee, not voters. Biden is moderate? Biden will enthuse the black vote? Really? Really?

We Will Build It Again.
Remember all those who did nothing but complain, and point fingers to find someone (Trump) to blame for the failures of BIG government, the large, cumbersome bureauracracy, and massive regulations that stymied action.
And, don't expect Biden to be out too much, they will manage him so that he's rarely out, and likely try to use the same scheme they used with Obama when he held call-in "town hall" meetings that made it seem the participants are getting access to the campaign, only to have the campaign manage the questions and any follow up questions - the media thought they were gaining access when they were being manipulated, which they loved.

FTA …. today it is the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the resulting financial collapse (the second one millennials have experienced in our young careers), and decades of dehumanizing oligarchic misgovernance …
OUR young careers ?

Democrats can't get excited about Biden. Sure, the dedicated will vote for him, since he is all they have, and he's not Donald J. Trump. I have no doubt that they are helping him pick the VP, who they will want to step up when Joe has to retire in December or January.
Problem is, it won't work. President Trump will be elected in a landslide, provided we all get out and vote, and Pelosi/Schiff keep on helping us...

Folks, it is still not certain than Biden will be the candidate. A lot can happen between now and election day. I say, fasten your seatbelts.

While Uncle Joe Biden isn't the brightest bulb in the box, let's not take anything for granted this fall. If it weren't for 70,000 voters in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, we would be in the third year of the reign of Hillary the Terrible. This current spike in unemployment and economic activity due to the virus would be every day during that plague of big government.
Do not take any state, any vote for granted (how did that turn out in 2018?). We must prevail in 2020, and if that means we need to play like we are 10 points down, then we have to do it.

Joe Biden will never make it to the election. Of all the democrats in this country this feeble old man is the best the democrats can come up with? That is pathetic. They are doomed.

Some dim operative will see to it the Biden gets the corona virus and he’s outta here. The rallying cry will then be, “let’s win this for Joe.” My guess is Jill will assume his nomination.

Been saying it for a year now. Joe even hinted at the Obiden/Bama admin.
Here comes the Biden/Obama ticket. Mooch
Joe gets his historical POTUS status which is all he and Jill want. Mooch gets to be the FIRST BLACK WOMAN PRESIDENT. Eat that Hillary. Thy don't like her any more than we do. Barry will endorse when mooch is on the ticket. The scary part is that it could work.

Pay attention as I'm gonna tell you how to win.
Instead of staying home vote for Trump & GOP.
Because by smashing dem you'll be the ones picking up the pieces & taking over the Partei.
It's simple & easy.
You're welcome.

#11 is correct. Look for Biden to accept the nomination, resign for “health reasons” in a bombshell announcement at the convention and Fredo’s brother accepts the nomination. Book it. It’s their only chance.

In my callow youth, I was a true-blue supporter of the Democrats, and put new words to an Irish rebel song “Grand Auld Dame Britannia”. One altered verse, had Richard Nixon singing, “O Gene McCarthy, he’s the boy, says the Grand Old Party candidate, he’s Spiro’s pride and my heart’s joy, says the Grand Old Party candidate. What’s the news the newsboy yells, what’s the news the papers tell? I’m further down in the Gallup poll, says the Grand Old Party candidate.”
But we all know how the election that year turned-out :)

This whole episode makes zero political sense on the surface. Biden is a known loser and a fading human being. All the challengers dropping like they did has an odd aroma. And Bernie just cashing in...c’mon, man. Are the Dems throwing this election?
One wonders whether this is some ploy to jettison the most radical elements by triggering a schism, thus protecting the UNIPARTY under pressure on both flanks led by AOC and PDT by forcing a “moderate” realignment to squeeze out a few more years as the septuagenarians pass on.
Something ain’t right here.

"Sanders is promising a generation that has never known stability or optimism that a better world is possible;"
Yes indeed boys and girls, you too could have Venezuela.
And WHY has that generation "never known stability or optimism"? Perhaps because the Left has lied to them and placed a false image in their heads about the promise of America? They have lied that the prosperous have gotten their wealth by stealing it from others rather than earning it through hard work and clever thinking. They have lied saying that there is plenty of magic money in America just waiting to be divided among the People. That was what the people of Cuba were promised. Castro took over, the money dried up (except for him), and the country has stagnated ever since, crumbling into ruin. They lied saying that the right Utopian leader would turn things around, like was promised with BO and was never delivered because Utopia is an impossibility and given human nature leads to Hell instead of Heaven. They lied when they fail to say that opportunity, free enterprise, individual achievement and reward, and minimal, citizen run government are what has propelled the US to success.
The dem party, with its growing Leftist malignancy is dying. It really doesn't matter who they nominate since they have no leadership ability. BO was not a leader, he was a narcissist who conned the Country into thinking he was interested in helping them and that electing him would erase a Black/White divide. The nation projected their hopes onto BO's carefully constructed blank canvas and THAT is what they elected. Within that cloak of invisibility, the dems schemed to DESTROY the Country and almost succeeded. THAT is all that the dems can offer.

Biden was never able to win a primary until the black vote turned out for him in deep red South Carolina. After that, he had no serious opposition (Bernie was a plurality winner, for the most part). What makes the Democrats think this perennial loser as a candidate for President can win the general election? Trump's Republican support is rock-solid and he is polling near 50% overall. The corona crisis isn't hurting him. He looks like a leader. Joe looks like he is hiding in a bunker.
