Gov. Gretchen Whitmer will order all bars and restaurants in the state of Michigan to shut down their dine-in services in response to the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak. A spokesperson confirmed the information Monday after Whitmer spoke with a TV station about it. Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist II tweeted the temporary shut-down would go into effect starting at 3 p.m. The governor previously ordered all K-12 schools closed and banned gatherings of over 250 to limit community spread of the infectious respiratory disease.

Does this include places where the homeless are fed. Or just restaurants that have paying customers.

This strikes me as a state seizure of property...how much will the State of Michigan compensate business owners for this order? Same goes in Ohio and wherever else the state issues such orders. Without donning a tinfoil hat, this sort of stuff should put pause to those who think "it can't happen here." The mask-wearing Sheeple are following, slathered in disinfectant and wrapped in toilet paper. Next comes domestic travel restrictions...what, state troopers with thermometers at the state lines checking for the fever?

These people have LOST THEIR MINDS!
New York did the same! There is only one aim here. Destroy the economy and Donald Trump with it. To them, costing people their livelihoods is a small price to pay to get rid of Trump.
I am so far beyond disgusted. I'm OUTRAGED!!!

Who do these people think they are? A governor issues an "order" like this on what authority?
There will be an unholy reckoning for the stupidity, panic, and absurd authoritarian overreach going on now.

There will only be one choice in November. Donald Trump will win in a land slide. Only the loony left will go against the tide. Everyone else will see that this country and the world needs a hands on deck management by a strong leader like President Trump. We will get through this and America will be greater than it has ever been. God bless America and President Donald Trump.

Ordering all bars and restaurants in the state of Michigan to shut down their dine-in services. Oh, great, so they're basically putting them out of business. They may as well quarantine the whole state. Starting to get a little out of control. Got it.

A self-inflicted Depression is not the cure to a virus. Older people are at risk, but younger people need to work and children need to be in school. We need to get a grip. This is needless and dangerous hysteria.

Kentucky's governor did the same. We can still order take out or use the drive through. But bars have to close too.
At least I can still go to church - for now.

By what authority? Owners, workers of restaurants and bars, unite! This is getting ridiculous. Martial law is next.

53 cases in a state with over 9 million people. And they want to shut down whole industries? How many people have died of the flu in MI? Undoubtedly tens of thousands.

We went out to dinner last night. Wiped down the table with alcohol wipe before touching it. Other than that, a normal dinner. I'll make some concessions, but not shut down my entire life. We already will have much less contact. The city wide athletic games that have run every year in KC for the last 40 years were cancelled, irritating my athletic competitor wife to no end.

Governors have specific powers laid out in their State Constitutions for what they can or cannot do in a ‘State of Emergency’. If they go beyond that they should be taken to Court. The main reason for their nanny state pious states of emergency is so they can hop on the federal gravy train and suck up some tax dollars. This is a travesty.

In all of this, I wonder what Bill Maher is doing right now? He hasn’t said much lately, but here is the black swan event he was wishing for. Economic upheaval just to undermine Trump. Victory in November!
I have this mental picture of him in his palatial home, with a couple of hookers, a case of Dom Perignon, and Wagyu steaks on the grill, laughing, partying, with plenty of toilet paper.
I don’t think it’s going to work, Bill. Oh, and you’re still an awful person.
