you Michiganers better learn to behave. Your going to be in time out for awhile. Bet she extends it beyond May 28. My question is does this include people driving to the UP from a different state. I dont want to cause problems and be scolded by big mama if I want to drive thru lower michigan to the UP. I am scared of her.

What is the emergency that justifies the use of emergency powers? The hospitals are not overwhelmed. Every basis for declaring an emergency has been proven incorrect. This issue should be before the Michigan State Supreme Court by now.

I am a Michigander... May 1 st was freedom day for me- no law, perceived, by Gov HalfWhitmer is legal.. she did not get authorization from the legislature to continue -
She has no plan for economic recovery- 52 %of population of Michigan lives in Detroit area..
She governs to their liking..
I left the state to visit my child.. in an open state! Wonder is spouse would mind if I just stay here longer?

Detroit cratered itself. So the governor's plan is to just keep the remnants shut down ?
I think a year from now I'll be able to buy the whole city for about 60K. Won't do it unless I can kick everybody else out though.

Shouldn't "emergency powers" require the confirmation of, you know, an actual emergency? And if there really is an emergency, how broad an area does it legitimately affect? If there is an emergency in 2 or 3 cities, should the emergency edicts be allowed to affect an entire state?
The Michigan legislatures (and ALL state legislatures) need to answer those questions and adjust "emergency powers" accordingly.

This is all about retaliation for the protests, which made our wannabe VP look really, really bad. What do you want to bet Ol' Gretch was a "mean girl" in high school?

Watch, when May 28th gets here, she will extend again to June 28th, and so on and so on, till November.

May 28. What is the scientific evidence for lifting it on the Memorial Day holiday? Or is that just an act of benevolence on the part of her highness? Will the state be putting on free circuses and giving away bread that weekend, also?

I have spent a lot of time in Michigan. I love the State, all of it. I am from TN and I am an advocate for MI. This woman is a tyrant, she needs to be impeached!

I was born and raised in Michigan (Flint). Through my job, I was transferred to Texas and have made it my home. I go back to Michigan every year to visit all my many siblings and relatives. I usually rent a place for a couple weeks at least. Governor Whitmer has ruined any plans I might have made for this summer. Will things be open this summer? Should I make plans? It's all too uncertain up there for me. OP I feel your pain. What she has done to this beautiful state is a crime and a shame.

This nasty woman has come to personify the overbearing, lawless, power-grabbing public official, while Americans are struggling to hold their lives together. If she had any delusions of being chosen as Joe Biden´s VP candidate, she has NO chance of moving up the political ladder. Her career in politics is over, history. Good riddance to this awful piece of work when she´s voted out of office at the voters´next opportunity.

Heard online somewhere:
The mayor, city council, and police department of grand rapids, Holland, and TRAVERSE city should declare May 15 freedom day in Michigan and open up the state.
The virus is killing thousands of people. The governor is killing the economy of 10 million people.
Someone said it's a sophie's choice situation. (Is that a movie?)

This witch can’t help herself. Other states opening up, yet she doubles down and turns the thumbscrews some more. It’s personal with her. But notice the bone she throws to the auto unions in Detroit. Beautiful state, horrendous and petulant adolescent leadership.
